Really enjoyed that! Well done.
Captain shack love your content dude! Specifically space engineers and stellaris!
Captain on deck !
Thanks Shack! Hit me up if you want some help with an intro for an Empire at War campaign or something!
No plot, no actors and still a better film than the last 3.
@@SkyForgeFilms why don’t you try empire at war, that’s something I would watch. But anyways thx for this
I hated how in Star Wars rebels the corvettes would do nothing and never shot down the fighters. Thanks for putting that in
Yeah it seems like in rebels one random tie could blow up corvette
@@NateSceneTV This is the same series that got the order of introduction for fighters wrong. A-Wings apparently came before X-Wing and is a easy prey for TIE Fighters, Interceptors show up a full half decade before the should, no Headhunters, no X-Wing theft operation, and B-Wings have superlasers.
@@Tracer_Krieg IDC bout realism. It always seemed like corvettes didn't fire at all
I was thinking about that when rewatching Rebels, specifically Vaders attack on the fleet. There were five corvettes and the Pelta, way to much for even a 'good' pilot to deal with. But plot demanded a single Tie can blow holes in a frigate while it's shields were up, when in actuality the fleet would have at the very least made Vader back off.
and how one measly laser blast from a tie causes a huge explosion despite apperently having full shields.
Superb work! I love it!
Hi Henry, how's it going?
I saw your y wing and it looked great next to the other ships, seamless
Dat Y-wing tho
was that the long range Y Wing from your channel?
really nice to see models being used in a great way.
That TIE interceptor was a beast. If he hadn't gotten tunnel vision and saw the X-wing coming, he would have stopped the bombing run cold.
*A-Wing
Too bad all vision out of a TIE cockpit is tunnel vision.
When you look at it, this isn't really all that much of a victory for the Maren Rebels. They three, four pilots to take down a handful of TIEs and didn't even blow the Arquitens up? I'd call that a failed operation.
From the few frames we see of the Arquitens during and after the bombing run, you can see that it's "sinking" akin to the Executor in Revenge of the Jedi.
@@DecidedlyNinja Surely that helmet has HMD
When I was a kid, and still today, my favorite part of Star Wars were the space battles, of which there's really only three good examples in the film's, Yavin, Endor and Scariff, so it's great to see stuff like this.
Was that an EC Henry new republic Y-Wing???
Maybe?
Yeah for sure it was
Love seeing all these amazing models finally animated in their elements.
I like to think that this was a test mission for them.
I mean they did use his models in Flight of the Valiant
You nailed the pace! The Corvette circling around and trading shots with the cruiser just looked so realistic/believable.
And nothing over the top, just perfect.
No doubt one of the best space battle sequences out there made by anyone. Please do more.
Ps. This just gave me the biggest urge to play squadrons!
The corvette should have been roasted by those heavy turbolasers though
@@tk-6967 Well use the first sequence in EP4 as reference, Leia's Corvette took multiple hits from Vader's star destroyer.
From my understanding those Corvette are pretty tough, that's why they used them as blockade runners.
But if you have another source of info please share. Also shield strength/armor in star wars are always kinda of plot influenced.
@@bobbydellaserra441 They were trying to disable the ship to get the plans and capture Leia, that was literally the point, it would be counterintuitive to blow it up otherwise. Also, Artiquens have powerful main guns, and we saw in SW rebels (a show biased towards the rebels) that they could it easily destroy a corvette.
@@tk-6967 I'm pretty sure the empire would have been happy simply destroying Leia's ship to prevent the plans from escaping.
But ok, however I'll still argue on the plot armor aspect. In this short, we don't know how badly damaged the Corvette was or what the crew was dealing with internally. In a one on one fight I definitely agree with you.
A Corvette would never stand a chance against a cruiser. But the short was a basic showcase of rebel hit and run tactics and in this case using bombers and a Corvette as a means to draw fire. If that Y-wing didn't fire his load the Vette probably wouldn't have lasted much longer.
Still my original point was simply a comment on the pace of larger ships trading shots.
It felt very realistic to me and was a joy to watch.
@@bobbydellaserra441 But how can one Y wing destroy that cruiser in less time than the cruisers 4 heavy turbos destroy a corvette?
I was expecting the empire to have sent reinforcements behind the rebels. Guess it was the other way around. It was amazing either way
I was expecting a Star Destroyer to jump in at the very end lol
@@CaptainAmercia me too :)))
Perfectly balanced, as things should be.
I was expecting the cruiser from flight of the valient.
@@davidty2006 Yea, the Incursor would've been a huge middle finger to Rebels, like "You thing you've won? That was just a warm-up!"
A masterpiece, this is.
This is the type of action you’d see in a real Star Wars movie. This is so good, it should be in a real film. Love it!
Yoda approves
Hmm... Approve, yoda does.
Honestly it's better than the naval fights in the Sequels. At least the Imperials actually seem like a competent threat in these instead of getting trolled by lone pilots.
That is pure Star Wars Action like in the Battle of Endor
We live in a time where somebody can make something like this on their computer at home. Absolutely mind-blowing

*Cough, cough* The Mandalorian *cough, cough*
@@willr.1495 yeah there're a few producers who are good.
@@willr.1495 yes Dave Filoni counts as a star wars fan
that Arquitens was woefully underequipped.
Love the battle, especially the emphasis on the CR90 constantly circling the cruiser during the fighter scenes.
Yeah, they have the same issue as the ISD-II: Tarkin's insistence on no point defense weapons and that the ISD should get all the funding.
@Nathan #7 the Arquitens didn't have a hangar, and the quad laser cannons are useless against the CR90. This might be the command type, which replaces its dual turbolasers with additional equipment and escape pods.
Might be a communications patrol vessel, since it's alone with only a few TIEs and no Gozanti escort.
Ngl having a smaller ship circle a larger one is a strat that really should be seen more because what small thing doesn't do that to a massive thing.
Yes, it's no DEDICATED point defence anti fighter weapons - instead, light turbolasers must try to fulfil dual defence roles, that way.
@@chrissonofpear1384 which isnt very effective if you’re dealing with multiply targets. Plus those quad guns are laser cannons, not turbolasers
It is wonderful how a two minute fan film is far better than any of the space battle we had in the sequel trilogy. This is Art. Art that Thrawn would surely appreciate.
No it's not. Showing ships shooting at each other does not equal a good space battle. I dare this guy to write a space battle half as good as what we got
@@davidkippy101 you cannot create something as good as Exegol since that battle equal minus infinite in its quality to me. And you cannot cut minus infinite in half
@@nemesis7774 even if that was true this guy would still manage to make it worse, and I could break it down and analyze why
@@davidkippy101 I won't dwell on how bad that battle was.
@@nemesis7774 It actually has a story structure, this guy's space battle would be a recreation of an empire at war battle but with a few shots of officers saying commands
After seeing all that you have done, these space battles basically show where the war is going. It started with cargo and fighter raids on the enemy, the Remnant counterattacks and destroys the Valiant, marking an escalation in the conflict, now like we see here, both sides are in constant ship-to-ship skirmishes. So far good storytelling through battles keep it up

@Polarize Stream Hightlights i think we should for these kinds of massive entertainment properties. let fans go wild, they tend to make cooler shit anyways.
@Polarize Stream Hightlights I feel like it's fine if they make money off of it. Why not? This franchise is like 50 years old.
@Polarize Stream Hightlights Yeah, but the people who made Star Wars have already made enough money. George Lucas is a millionaire. There's no moral reason that Disney execs are any more deserving to create wealth from this franchise than the fans are.
The shot where the two ships fired broadsides at each other was very nice. Reminiscent of old school naval warfare
All I wanna see is a Fan Film by this channel where it includes and shows every EC Henry ship he's made. That would be incredible
I love how in the credits it said star wars by George Lucas and not Disney
Gotta credit the man himself for making the place exist.
Who the fuck would say that anyway? Star wars obviously was made by george lucas

Ships in starwars:
hippity hoppity we've appeared on your property
Love the y-wing design here. Plus the rapid fire shots brought back my rogue squadron memories.
This will make a fine addition to my fan film collection.
This is awesome, the music, the camera angles, the battles itself looks good and realistic for star wars. need more!
Man!!! Fan films of this caliber are so fun to watch!!! Thank you so much for your passion!!
"Oh its beautiful."
The Imperial Light Cruiser is one of my favorite Ships design because it also served in two wars
Just like the Blockade Runner and Z95.
if admiral ackbar was on the arquintens and the xwings showed up behind him he would say "ITS A TRAP!!"
Love seeing the turbo laser shots just plink off the shield. Nothing over the top to say "It's shielded" but the fact it isn't exploding is not what the imperials want to see. Love it.
I wonder if the Maren Sector Rebels will eventually capture ships.
capturing a incursor would be interesting since thats a mini ISD
A battle of endor video would be awesome, showing more of B-wings and all the other ships in action, as well as Mon Cals and nebulons vs. star destroyers. It could take place when ROTJ cuts away from the space battle to focus on the ground battle and Luke's duel, like a "fill in the gaps" on the space battle.
That shot from 1:16 to 1:22 is phenomenal, especially when he took out the second target.
Second upload? Okey, I'll watch it again :)
I like the faster firing rate of the fighters. It made the dogfighting feel more intense, and really gave the sense that the weapons pack a punch.
Absolutely amazing. I especially love the lighting, really give it that model look
This is FANTASTIC ! Excellent work you guys. Wish Star Wars movies could be done by real fans like you.
Loved the feel, the quality, the atmosphere. Loved the corvette on corvette action, i feel smaller skirmishes of this nature are overlooked on the big screen! But its so good seeing a iconic ship like the blockade runner been used properly
Great example of Rebel Tactics. Bait (show a vulnerable target), Hit (ambush the imperials), Fade (bug out before reinforcements arrive).
1:29 love the more Clone Wars inspired Y Wing with a mix of the classic original trilogy striped down one I would definitely be flying this if I was in Star Wars.
Check EC Henry's channel if you want to see the design and why he made it, it's called Resistance Y-wing or something like that, the ship wasn't used like he intended here but it's still cool to see his design in action.
@@sharko4093 yeah I just looked it up I’ve watched the video when it dropped but only after I made the comment I was like “hey this looks like the fan made Y Wing from that video” definitely love this design and that this channel is using these to create fantastic shorts also saw he had the original Star Destroyer design which is awesome.
@@CaptainAmercia Yeah bro, that cruiser design is so nice.
It's a modernized Y wing thats meant to serve the role of a PBY Catalina. Aka pretty much everything.
@@davidty2006 Yes, we already established that he has seen Henry's video
FINALLY A FILM WHERE BOTH SIDES ARE SKILLED. After i watched the Rebels i needed this
I've gone back and watched all the previous short films and this is the best one so far! I loved it.
Specifically:
1)The explosions are just perfect, sound and VFX give them an almost practical feel. Particle effects are also much nicer.
2) The direction and camera work is also much improved, faster edits and quicker movements following the action give the movie a much more professional feel, it reminds me of Rogue One (and it's a very good thing).
3) The shot of the larger ships shooting each other with the planet on the backgroud is fantastic.
4) The quick edit of the Tie fighter being persued by the X-wing coming over and swooping under the Corvette is just perfection.
5) Shots from the cockpit of the fighter are also a welcome addition, a tradition of SW dogfights.
6) Music and sound effects are on point.
And now for the nitpicks:
1) The Arquintens needs finer texturing. While all other ships have a realistic rendering, the Arquintens looks more in line with models of a later season of the Clone Wars.
2) The lighting effect on the engines also needs some work.
Keep it up, judging by the improvement I have seen so far I can't waint to see how good these shorts will become!
The camera movement and sense of speed it created was great in this one
Wow this is like everything I could ever want in a star wars space battle! Thank you so much for making this!
I love the rendering of the ships. The lighting looks so soft and realistic. The camera work is also on a whole other level.
Finally a cr90 using its guns :D I just love the corellian covette. My favourite type in star wars!In sw rebels they just did basically nothing.Wanted to see them in actual action not just as back ground targets.
Keep up the good work!
Would like to see some more cr90 action :) MOAAAARRRRRR!!!!!!!!!!!
That A-Wing coming in for the save at 1:30 was just.... *chef kiss*
I love it, It feels like a Star Wars Space Battle. I had some problems with Flight of the Valiant because everything felt slightly wrong (still enjoyed) but this is a large step up in everything definitely your best work
I enjoyed this more than the sequels. Beats a cavalry charge across the deck of a star destroyer.
But its very well made. Good job.
I've been waiting for this day for a long time.
I like how you did this, the corvette popping in drawing the attention and a quick trade of fire while the fighters and bombers came in from behind. Quick hit and smash then get the hell out, good guerilla tactics exemplified here
Looks very OT-ish! Great visuals! I think some voice acting of pilots talking to each other or some orders being heard over comms would make it even better
I read this in your voice.
Man you *never* get to see Y-Wings being the big guns. Fantastic.
This looks almost as good as Rouge ones CGI. Keep up the good work!
This is what the rebels did. Hit and run tactics. Really well done.
This 2 minute fan film is cooler than the entire new Disney canon. I love it!
Okay folks, You listen to me now, here's the itinerary, we come out of hyperspace, nearly get destroyed and jump to hyperspace once we've lost half our fleet.
Jokes apart, the video was pretty awesome for real
Wow! You've improved so much since your first video's. This could easily be a scene in any of the movies! Are you sure you don't secretly work for ILM?
My absolute favorite thing about this video is finally seeing an offensive Blockade Runner!
As much as i love the fighters, i desperatly wish for more fan animations of fleet ship combat!
Holy shit. This guy needs someone to finance him.
I dare this guy to write a decent space battle half as good as the worst battle in the films
@@davidkippy101 yeah.
Beautiful. I love how you kept it 'simple' and elegant, with relatively long, well choreographed shots that allowed us to actually see what was going on and gives us a spatial sense of where we physically are in the space. I also really love how you managed to use CG to create something that really looks like it was made with physical models and cameras (without the limitations and artifacts of physical compositing) - that really made it feel Star Wars (unlike what we've seen in some (not all) of the prequels/sequels) -
You direct the action with real dynamics and momentum, like the original trilogy. That takes artistry. Something lost in modern times.
Neat.
Don't often see really small scale engagements like this. It's normally major fleet operations or really small scale of 1-3 "main character" ships doing things together.
If only u could get hired to direct cutscenes in Star Wars games ....
Holy cow, I never realized how terrifying hyperspace capable fighters were until now. The ability to just show up out of nowhere, attack en-mass, and then disappear. Terrifying.
Yes! These are the types of space battles we never got to see in Star wars
just headed from the Squadrons score over to this video and for a moment I thought the score was still playing in the background....well it kinda was.
This clip gives the fighters and their battle a great sense of speed and momentum and like all work before, visually stunning.
Great work!
Wow. Your short film just blew the latest trilogy out of the water.
Well done
Love the CGI, camera angles and the speed of the starfighters. Kinda reminds me of rogue one
I love how the explosions are a balance between classic star wars and modern sfx: while they have that 80's look, they are volumetric and give off proper lighting to the surroundings (e.g. 1:06). Great detail.
Absolutely brilliant. Hope you continue to make more of these.
The ships and shading look amazing, almost physical model-quality. And the laser impact sounds, just so crunchy
That is all so beautifully rendered/executed. BRILLIANT work.
This is proof that the Light Cruiser would be awesome in live action. Great job on this film!
Superb Disney need to hire this dude ...it felt great and sounds spot on something Disney have forgot
The Tie interceptor shots were just glorious!
For a little positive reinforcement, I really appreciate your take on a first person pilot view. Never seen it done quite that way. Awesome.
That sense of speed and agility from the Tie Interceptor run is incredible!
The SkyForge animations are some of the best i have ever seen
Bruh the camera wobble during heavy action, great. And some amazing turret shots. Amazing work! Had me on the edge of my seat
I MOST ABSOLUTELY loved and enjoyed watching this EPIC battle, right here!!!!
MOST DEFINITELY one of my MOST favorites that I have seen SO FAR!!!!
Tie interceptors are my absolutely fav ship in star wars!!!
(second place is the Gravity Well Interdictor)
I love this short. I have seen it several times and always find a new detail. Thank you for sharing it!
more than any sw fan could hope for. this is cinema quality right here
That CR 90 man, everything was well executed. That run reminded me of rouge squadron at the battle of Endor 2 CR 90 are in the map one stays infront of homeone and the other goes behind the stars destroyers.
Man that A-wing was fast! An the Tie interceptor was a complete badass. Those shields on the frigate were strong as ever too! Empire got fooled but put up a great fight. These engagements have so many subtle details that flesh out the performance characteristics of all these cool sounding warships! The Disney star wars looked impressive but didnt have the creative elements of space combat seen here.
I appreciate the use of the Squadrons theme music at the end there
Very fine hit and run! To sad it cost so many rebel pilots lifes... Very impressive Tie Pilot skill. Hes death alone was a big blow for this Imperial sector.
Dang for a split second I thought that lone TIE Interceptor was about to run the whole board. Great video.
UA-cam has evolved into its final form, a spring board to show major corporations what passion is.
this is amazingly PERFECT STARWARS TECH. even the beautiful smoke effects and attention to its detail. bravo.
I'd be interested to see a star wars short like this with realistic physics, just to see how you'd direct that sort of space battle.
The turbolasers on the CR90 that we have thus far seen in movies fire singly and not doubly.
FANTASTIC!!! I LOVE the Tie Interceptor!!! Also really prefer the look of the Y-Wings with the panel coverings. VERY exciting!
A tie fighter with a shield would have been SUCH a game changer for the empire
This gave me so much nostalgia from playing the Rogue Squadron games.
If only action in the sequels could have been this exciting and visceral. It gets better the more you see it.
Amazing to see EC Henry's models in proper use.
Also amazing to see the TIE Interceptor being properly lethal
