Aside from meme Anschluss, that was actually pretty historical from the invasion of Normandy and Italy playing the role of the "soft underbelly" beautifully, to the Soviets halting the German advance and being first to Berlin.

It's 1939, the Soviets aren't exactly ready to fight a war with Germany yet considering their Industry is not yet up to date with 1941 and the Battle of Khalkhin Gol and Numerous Border conflicts are still occuring so they will be so f*cked if they fight Germany now.

I'm surprised Germany lost, especially since (I assume) it cored all that Ausrian territory too
Btw if the Austrohungary is made into personal union, Germany annexes only Austria, and Hungary becames independent. I have the same mod but with more detailed autonomies (Khiva, Bukhara, Poland, Finland etc)

It doesn't - the event only does the three Austrian states.
Italy giving Austria Tirol means it's an uncored state in the event of an Anscluss.
Still, you'd expect those extra factories to come into play.
They probably lost because they attacked Switzerland

@@JustASlavicMapper yeah, kinda inaccurate, but I think some of these things, if not all, would actually happen if WWII played out with WWI borders:
1) Serbia would unite with Montenegro since they have a long history of cooperation and unions, and most inhabitants of both nations supported unification, as well as the governments I believe.
2) Bulgaria would invade Serbia to "reclaim" "their" lost territories since they had a dispute with Serbia over Vardar Macedonia (they also wanted the Greek part of Macedonia, especially the strategic city of Thessaloniki, and that's why they invaded Greece in the video)
3) Italy would maybe invade (I don't know a lot about this though) Montenegro to gain more influence in the Adriatic Sea, like it already did by invading Greece and Albania.
Also weird that Italy was actually succesful in it's invasion of Greece, but maybe that is because they waited for Bulgaria to join the Axis so they could attack together since, as mentioned earlier, Bulgaria wanted the Vardar Macedonia territories from Greece and Serbia. If somebody knows more about this subject feel free to correct me or add onto this. I love to discuss alternate history

Its so frustrating to see Germany lose to the Soviets after taking like half of the important area, the thing is they just push the Army, they barely encircle, usully when i fight the Soviets, no matter what county, by the time i take Moscow and Stalingrad the Soviets lost half of their army to encirclement

Crazy enough but the Italian Army of ww1 went to battle larger with more equipment and was better supplied in 1915 than the Mussolini's army in 1940

Honestly, I think this is the most interesting timelapse of HOI4 I have seen so far!
It was insanely historical accurate and incredibly thrilling to watch.
I would have guessed, that Germany wins this easily, after they pushed through the Maginot line and pushed the Soviets way back. I also thought they were going to destroy the Allied landing.
And also the big Anschluss was very funny.
I totally forgot that Germany does this some times. ;)
It could however been averted with the right setup.

For the annexation of Austria can you only add the Austrian parts? Because Austria Hungary had seperetly controlled borders. Great video by the way
I like how in this scenario, alongside the previous WW2 with modern borders one, Mexico just decides to participate in D Day and sends soldiers to the Western Front. Mexico seems to be OP in this alternate reality. Guess getting their oil ships bombed really pissed them off.
