    What I love about your channel is that you restore these weird and rare things that many of us have never even seen before. There is hardly any repetition. I especially like the big things, like the corn grinder, the drill and the enormous scales. Fascinating. You are my favorite restoration channel. Please continue.

      Rural France is full of old salvage / junk dealers - everything from ceramic doorknobs to thumping great bits of metal. If you can find any Rico Daniels videos on YT they're well worth a watch. He did a TV series called 'Le Salvager' where he moved to France and went poking around a lot of rural salvage places.

      @@Curlyl0x yes vide grenier also called foire à tout or marché aux puces are common in all areas in France. You have to be there earlier than the junk dealers.they do not hesitate to light the back of the vendors vehicle during unloading, it is very painful.

    You guys do my favourite restorations I've found on youtube. The care, craftsmanship and patience you both display in your work is beautiful to watch and I love that you don't try to make things look brand new. 'Perfect' restorations leave me a bit cold, whereas yours embrace the history of the items without trying to conceal it.

    Excuse my ignorance but why do you remove the paint before sandblasting? Wouldn’t the paint come off during that process of sandblasting?

    • @Ea-Nasir_Copper_Co
      @Ea-Nasir_Copper_Co 3 роки тому

      The more you take off with sandblasting, the more dust and gunk contaminates the blast medium.
      This is a more serious issue with lead paint, and not just because lead is a neurotoxin; lead dust will also glom onto the blast medium and clog up hoses and nozzles. Remember that lead was added to paint for two reasons: opacity and adhesion.
