For the "dirt" I use either polished river stones from Dollar Tree; the black ones with the beige striations, or black or brown fish tank gravel, which I have also purchased new in the craft section at Dollar Tree. Then I poke in a few faux succulents with varied heights and colors, some redwood garden chips and a real butterfly, lady bug 🐞 or colorful beetle or even a dead moth or dragonfly, if I have one handy. They are definitely conversation starters❣️😉🦋*
