Just happened to me. Probably like my third or fourth attack I've had in my life and I'm scared this is going to keep happening. I used a heart rate app on my phone and it said my BPM was 96. On the app it said this was high (although apparently according to Google, 60 - 100 BPM is average) and my stress level was very high. This made me super nervous and I did another test... 108 BPM. Did another one afterwards and it was at 128. I threw my phone and got up immediately to take a bath. Felt light headed. That was two hours ago and I'm slightly calmer now. But I can still feel my heart beating fast and so worried this may last a while. Getting chest pain again, but I've had this chest pain for weeks now (went to UC a couple weeks ago and they said chest x-ray and EKG came back as normal).

I try to remember what my therapist told me: even when there's no clear trigger, your panic attack IS happening for a reason. It could just be that you have a lot of difficult emotions or stress built up and your body is responding to that. Trust your body. If it's starting to panic, give it air, give it water, take good care of yourself.

Everything will be okay ❤️it's only an anxiety or panic attack. It will pass very soon. You aren't crazy, you aren't dying and you aren't going to be like this forever. It is getting closer to being done and everything will be okay. You are okay, you are breathing and that heart of yours is beating for you to be alive, you are not dying and you are not having a heart attack. Those breaths you are breathing in nourish your body with oxygen, even if they are a little faster right now. You are okay, you are here and you are getting through this and I'm so incredibly proud of you❤️🙌🏻 it is terrible that you have to deal with this but you are getting through it like a champ! Keep breathing! You are getting better! I'm so proud of you, everything is going to be okay very soon. Hang on just a little longer. ❤️🙌🏻 Give yourself a little hug, hold onto a fluffy blanket or t shirt, hug a pillow or even stretch your arms out and take a big breath and then blow out every bit of anxiety until you start to feel okay. Yes!! I went to the Emergency for an EKG, and everything was normal. I also though something was wrong with my lungs, then I started googling and found so many more things to get myself worked up over. I was convinced my booster shot made my heart “swell and race” , after looking at the symptoms on google. I was looked after and I was 100% fine, but the doctor had told me this was Hyperventilation Syndrome. Reading comments helps so much 😭 This happened to me on Tuesday and I haven’t been the same since, and I am going to my family doctor as soon as I can to talk about anxiety and stress.

People without anxiety don’t know how good they have it. I often find myself looking back to the times I didn’t know what an anxiety disorder was and think about how much I took it for granted.
Also, idk about anyone else but when I get anxious or get a panic attack, I get in this headspace that I’m going to be stuck like this forever. Which of course isn’t true but it prolongs my anxiety because I’m hyper focused on all of the sensations in my body and the thought of being stuck like that forever is unbearable.

What helps is to uncover 'fear' as liar. Its like an entity trying to take over by hijacking your thoughts. Don't let it. Go and feel into your body, what does fear actually feel like. Fear always tries to convince the mind with logic and may have you by the hook, were it not for one mistake it always makes.. One fearful thought followed by another.. And so on.. Which sends many people into spiral or unrelated fearful thoughts but hey wait a minute! Why would all these.. Unrelated things be an issue all of a sudden!? Aaah.. Right. Fear is at it again. And so you gain back control. Get calmer. Because you can take control back from fear. I hope this works for you too

I started thinking like a small child would. Stomach ache? "Oow I'm gonna be sick for a day." Instead of "stomach ulcer, tight diaphragm, won't be able to breathe and eat well." Can't breathe well? "Man, I ran too quickly or perhaps I've caught a cold" instead of "COPD, severe issues and bad air quality."
I look back at how many times I worried over small things. Why can't we notice our symptoms but treat ourselves like a baby? Give us a heat bag and only if it worsens call for a doctor? We often missed having caregivers and still wish for that care and being catapulted into adulthood and big things and responsabilies is just a too big step for me now.

The comments are also very nice to read and it makes me feel like im not alone. Plus a tip from my mom if you ever have a panic attack that I constantly use is to drink water or chew mint gum, it gives me a sort of relief and it makes my mouth and throat not feel dry. Hope everyone is okay with theirs and we can overcome it together! ❤️

Have anxiety 30 years. The only way to cure it is confronting the fear, over and over again. Weather it’s going outside. The supermarket, public speaking, flying. I’ve finally got rid of it 5 years ago, all because of a simple thought that entered my head. The thought was “I’m going to die some day anyway that I can be sure of so why spend it afraid, spend it doing exactly what I want when I want with no fear” and that’s what I do.

I was holding in a lot of emotions because my dad was drunk and was hitting me for staying in the car at the party. But I had to stay in the car cause my phone was charging and I was doing my homework’s which was due in like 2 hours. I held in all my emotions instead of telling him because I was so sad and i would’ve started crying and if I cried in front of him he would’ve gotten more mad. So now that I’m alone I’m trying to calm myself down instead of my anger issues getting to me.

a little reminder for those listening due to anxiety/panic reasons:
our bodies can react in weird and uncomfortable ways when we are anxious, stressed or panicked.
my therapist recommended remembering H.A.L.T because i get a lot of physical anxiety symptoms (and normal physical sensations often make me anxious)
    H - are you hungry?
    A - are you angry?
    L - are you lonely?
    T - are you tired?
I'd also add to check you've had something to drink! ❤️

You got this! You have been through this before, remember?
Take a breath with all the bad sucking out of your body and let it go with exhale.
You are doing great, keep going.
You are brave and strong individual.
But you are NEVER alone on this.
Personal advise. Try to focus yourself on something that calms you down. Something you can do and also think about. Take your time doing that if you need.
Keep doing you got this! YOU are the warrior that went so far. Don't take it, make yourself laugh open a window, try to write something down with music.
You would be fine, you are fine because you are strong minded. Take it easy.
You don't have to be perfect.
    You don't have to hurry.
You don't have to be their favorite.
It's just a job interwie... BREATH.
It was just a film... you are fine.
He didn't deserve you, if you are hurt like this.

I just wanna hug all of you… seriously I understand. I’m there with you. I’ve seen my cardiologist and therapist, done all the tests & they both let me know that I’m constantly looking for something physically wrong, but it is anxiety that leads to a panic attack. If your heart is beating fast when waking up in the middle of the night, it’s like this sinus thing but if you start to freak out, it will turn into anxiety which leads to a panic attack episode. Thank you all for being such a light, sharing your experiences🫶 I love you all. May Gods peace flood your minds and hearts. Pray for his peace and breathe. He’s got you, call upon the Lord

I had a very serious anxiety attack for the first time in my life just now at 36, and coming here helped me breathe through it. I'm medically trained, have talked people through dozens of these on the job, but being on the other end is something very different for sure.
Measured my heart rate, monitored myself for cardiac event symptoms (pain, shortness of breath, sweating, nausea) none of those were there, just a pretty high tachycardia at 180bpm and a very strong sense of impending doom. Knew i needed to meditate, center my breathing and with this app I got through it. Thankyou to the creator. :)

Thank you for this, it's 4Am and even with my heart issue that more often than not is hard to calm down once I panic, this helped a lot! I'm really glad I decided to look this up rather than taking my meds that make me so exhausted I can't properly function for a whole day. Which I'm not saying don't take your meds, I take them when absolutely nessisary! But I prefer trying breathing exercises first to try and calm the best I can, I usually do it with my sister but was alone tonight and it wasn't working so I thought I should follow a video so I didn't feel alone and it really helped!
Know you are never alone and keep fighting, this anxiety is such a scary feeling but if you have gotten over it once, you can get over it again! Just keep your head up and know good things are going to head your way.
