Ignore the haters, there's always gonna be some turd losing their mind every time a woman picks up a guitar. If they can't tell/believe you're actually playing any of this then they're not actual guitarists anyway.
Personally, I am not a hater. I always give credit where credit is due. As I said, I've been playing off and on for over 4 decades. What I said is true. Maybe she is playing in the audio and she over-dubbed it, like she said she did on the Whitesnake video. Or not. But the audio and the video do not match. If you play guitar, you will see what I am saying.
I'm a 54 year old rock drummer and I'm so proud to see young people such as yourself showing true appreciation for an era with absolutely awesome and fun music. Great job!
59 and been playing guitar for a long time. It’s refreshing to see someone that young playing Dokken. Please never stop. My only advice is to play a little bit more aggressive. There are some notes that need to be struck a little harder. Other than that, you’re awesome!
The version of Dokken in the Breaking the Chains video was Jeff Pilson‘s first video. The actual bass player on that album was Juan Crocier from Ratt🤘🏻🎸🤘🏻
I saw an interview with them, which is how I found this out. Jeff had just joined the band right before the video shoot, so if you watch this video, you'll notice he's not really playing but more like he's patting the strings. Horrible Bass Lip Synching!!! LOL!!! @@jefferybettinger3632
I remember hearing this for the first time in 83 I believe. Our band started playing it in 84 and I still play it once in awhile at the local water hole. Oh and George is a cool guy to chat with for sure!
Very nice work. I’m so glad to see the younger people that have an interest in the older music. Dokken was once one of the most popular bands for a while but then kinda fell out of the limelight. You are a very talented lady and I hope you keep enjoying your guitar and never give it up. An instrument of any kind is in my opinion an extension of the heart. If you’re happy and instrument lets everyone know and if you’re sad then it tells everyone that too. Beautifully done
Love how you're slightly fighting the desire to sing the chorus vocals full on😁. It shows you're a legit rocker. So don't even bother resisting the urge. Feel it! Rock on, Emily 👍🏼
I just love that you are a fan of Dokken and other 80’s rock and metal!! You’re a fantastic guitar player to boot and easy on the eyes as well! Keep rockin’ Emily! 👊😎
Hey Emily... Thank you sooo much for playing my request from a few months ago...really appreciate it! It's been my favorite Dokken tune from the early 80's! :-)
Well done I been "Rockin with Dokken" since 1984 . Tooth & Nail was the 1st Dokken record or at that time Cassette Tape I ever purchased from Dokken . I had started playing Guitar in 1980 but really got serious after I heard Lynch play !! Lynch & Warren DeMartini from RATT both had a massive Influence on me and then Metallica & other Thrash Bands all effected the player I became . Keep Practicing and ROCK ON !!!"
Did you a great job covering Breaking The Chains by Dokken Emily👍 One of my favorite Dokken tunes. I’m glad I was able to see them back in the 80’s at Monsters of Rock at the L.A. Memorial Coliseum. Keep on rockin’ Emily 🎸
Good Stuff.. I remember seeing Dokken on the Breaking the Chains tour San Francisco News years eve 83.. they opened for Dio on his Holy Diver Tour and Y&T on their Mean Streak tour….what an EPIC show. 🎸🤘🎶😆
I just started playing when this came out! I'll always remember the over the top 80's video girl mouthing "I love you" and "I'll come back" in the video!
George Lynch, is my absolute favorite guitarist and for over 40 yrs Dokken was my favorite band! That was until recently, when I found Lovebites! This band will blow you out of the water! If you like guitars and metal, Lovebites is up there with Metallica and Megadeth, maybe even better. They have tons of great songs but l'll give you a few live ones to check out, "MDO" "Set the World on Fire" "Scream For Me" "United We Stand" and "Break the Wall" try those 5 live versions to start. Trust me, you'll find many many more great songs and you will fall in love them… Btw… that was pretty awesome!!! Keep Rokken with Dokken 🤘🏼
I really enjoy listening to you and your playing. This is on of my favorite songs from Journey. You are doing a terrific job even with little ending, I could tell the difference, but I must say it is very tastefully done. Keep up great work
That sounded great & I wanted to draw attention to how well you held the long bends in the solo & to pitch as well! Really nice playing! I think anyone who accused you of not playing will be quiet now lol!🎼🎸
Thanks so much!!! I wish they would be quiet lol 😂 I hate hearing those comments when I've worked really hard on something. O appreciate you seeing how hard I worked😊😊😊
Thank you for making your talent the focus of your video. Granted, I haven't seen many of your videos, but so many female guitarists make their content based on gaining attention and show off their lady bits more than their chops. Much respect to you, ma'am!
Fantastic! I'm amazed that you're able to play with your nails on the left hand without them accidentally hitting the other strings! I don't have to worry about it given that I've been a nail-biter since I was a kid! I know, nasty habit! lol I seriously dig the White Lion - Pride vinyl case I see in the back, BTW. ...another absolutely amazing guitarist! Vito was so creative with his structure, being able to create such a full sound with only one guitar line most of the time, and his tapping was other-worldly!
Loved the Kamikaze 4 , It’s one of my favorite looking guitars. You did awesome. I’ve seen Dokken several times . I saw George Lynch about a year ago. Great job.
Ignore the haters, there's always gonna be some turd losing their mind every time a woman picks up a guitar. If they can't tell/believe you're actually playing any of this then they're not actual guitarists anyway.
THANK YOU!!!! you are so right!!!! 🎸🎸😎😎🤘🤘🤘
Yep, ditto what they said... 🤘😎

Thank you!!@@Brian-Martin
Love to see some of the younger generation appreciating and shredding some Dokken!!

The original dokken was great back in the day. Glad I got to see them at the monsters of rock. Best bands were in the 80s Real music
Dokken is such a killer band!🤘
Yes they had a lot of great songs back in the 80s…

Omg you're killing it! I still haven't done Dokken yet, despite being a HUGE George Lynch fan. This has inspired me. Love the guitar too!
Thanks so much!!!
Anyone doing covers that involves anything Mr. G was playing deserves much respect ❤
Love Dokken, love the cover, love the fact that young people such as yourself realize what great music is.
This is one of the best 80s rock tunes… period.
So good to see a young person cover the best guitar era ever .... Awesome 🎉

First 80's metal song I ever learned in its entirety. Way back in 1985. Glad to see that players still dig George. Great job!! ✌❤🤘

You absolutely captured the feel of George Lynch. Especially in the solo! Very nicely done.
Thanks!!!
There is hope. A glimmer of hope but there is finally hope.
My first concert was Dokken opening up for Sammy Hagar in the mid 80s

Rock on! Thanks! I definitely always want to sing along, but sometimes that makes me mess up the timing of the rhythm, haha
@@guitarbyemily Have no fear. You'll get it all locked in, with time. If it's in your heart, which it definitely is, let it out❤️🔥
That was fun!
My friends and I have been Rock’in with Dokken since the 80’s. 🎸
That solo is awesome!
You know you're listening to a great guitar song when you're not even playing and your face makes those expressions on the high notes! 🤣🤘🏼
So true hahaha
