Wow, what a nightmare, you did a great job getting everything in sync and sorting it out though...those are the kind of jobs that make you really appreciate what you accomplished.
Great job! I am a building contractor. It pays to hire knowledgeable electricians. So basically you had to configure the whole wiring system, on top of time for install. Bet that customer didn't like that $20k bill but at least they know there suppression systems will work in the time of need. I love when I hit complicated snags on my side. That's when you can truly test your skills. Awesome job!
Did you have to tie in any co detectors? In Massachusetts we have a separate gas solenoid that closes if the co detector in the kitchen trips. Also the exhaust has to interlock to allow the solenoid to open. It adds another layer of cluster to the f ck. Lol I just did a decent job for my shop. The construction electricians who roughed the building had no clue. The hood was existing with no control cabinet. They basically ran a bunch of mc to one spot and labeled them poorly. I was sent to the site to program and test the fire alarm. But the site super started picking my brain and I ended up wiring all the hood controls . Fun job
Great work Josh. Please keep making videos of specialty work like this, I'm in central Florida, just started at a fire protection company. Challenging jobs are the fun jobs. The more information, the better, keep up the good work.
Great job and thanks for sharing! I have a similar job offer current panels out of space for a shunt trip breaker‘s and electrical panel circuits breakers not marked……
Hi do you have a diagram for installing regular commercial hood /fan Electrical part for it We need a switch for the light with 20am breaker Then sensor And fan switch Is there some kind a diagram one goes where ?any information will help this is the first time I’m doing it. I’m a journeyman for three years If you can give me some advice, I would appreciate it
How much do you charge for system like that on 12' hood and 2 1/2hp exhaust and 1 make up without power on the wall just hood lights and horn flashing emergency light
Just found your video because a store owner asked me to hook up an ansul system, which I've never done but I'm capable with instruction. My issue is, how is the power shut off incase of a fire
Like other commenter said, microswitch in fire panel sets it all of & either shunt trip breakers or contactors/relays kill power to everything that need to shut down
Looks like it was definitely a challenge to get all of that straightened out. My only concern would be the LFNC running into the dog house. It doesn't look like it's secured within 12 inches of the box and why not just route it through the existing opening instead of through the side and caulking it? Just a curious newbie, not trying to be a armchair electrician. Great work overall!
I did not wire this box, there was three other electrical companies that gave up on this job. They did NOT WANT US to rewire eveything, just pick up the pieces and wire the next 70% that was not in and was not killing the buckeyes.
@@Petersonelectricllc Ah, I see, makes sense in that regard then. Thanks for the reply and thanks for posting so much content, I know it makes every job take that much longer to do when you film it, but I do learn a ton from watching your videos!
I'm surprised the health dept. passed the flex on the surface of the wall. I think that the State of Co DORA was wanting this passed after three years of waiting and was more concerned of the safety of the employees and the Air handlers turning off and the exhaust vent hoods staying on in three kitchens in the same areas.
Just moved into new kitchen at a school. Gfci breakers on all 20 amp outlets in kitchen per code. Over spring break, most of the breakers tripped. Head electrician at the job told me that will happen during power outage. So he’s telling me if power goes out on weekend, then all the food in reachin coolers and freezers will be lost. Not buying that. I believe something not connected right. My understanding it could happen on a power dimming and that is a power company issue. Waiting on the electrical engineer to assess
I guess every fire martial is diff in what they want or nfpa. Ive wired these hoods in the not with the extreme shut downs they would of been going with a seperate system and have the fire alarm just monitor the ansul system. But every place is diff i guess. Good job anyways Josh.
I bet you could have added a couple extra contractors, and another HMI, and just created another fan zone all working off the same Captiveaire dcv. Nothing worse than having to figure out what a bunch of knuckleheads did before you got there

Thanks, Can't take all the credit, my wife and daughter helped and an older friend that has been in the trade for 40 yrs.

Nice video. I enjoy seeing how things get tied into each other.
Beautiful job there guys.

Did i shunt trip break it all, i have seen in restaurants they would shunt the main breaker

Hi Peterson, i love to watch your Videos. I learnt a lot from your videos. But few things still confuse me. How can i learn it in brief from you ??
You are SUPER DOPE bro.... Respect on so many levels.

What type of heat sensor can I use for the exhaust fan commercial venthood kitchen ??

If the fire suppression system is triggered it will actuate a microswitch in the control head of the system.... I'm pretty sure...
Like other commenter said, microswitch in fire panel sets it all of & either shunt trip breakers or contactors/relays kill power to everything that need to shut down
Hello, do you know anyone in Louisiana that can finish the electrical connection to kill the makeup air and leave the exhaust on?
Did u wire the appliances
Can l have you help me diagnose why my exhaust fan is not drawing enough power?

Whats the brand of control box with the relays
Good job 👍

Yah, not sure myself, I think that the weight of this camp being there for over a 100 yrs give some clout.
Never did a commercial kitchen but it would be nice to actually see a drawing of a basic setup.
I showed it on one of these videos, (i think), this job was a mess.
Sir vacancy hei
quite a shit show but luckily you have the help and resources to get it done. good work
You can say that again! ;)
Hey man. I'm from denver. Really want to learn the system. Shoot me a message
Hi. Does anyone know how much a hood control panel install would cost?
U the man
I bet you could have added a couple extra contractors, and another HMI, and just created another fan zone all working off the same Captiveaire dcv. Nothing worse than having to figure out what a bunch of knuckleheads did before you got there
It may work, Conduit and wiring is a mess. not acceptable.
