Isomat P
@@ProfessionalPainterDecorator thanks for the recommendation it's overdue a revamp so I've made a note of that
I’m i interested in this paint I messaged you on Facebook asking you questions and you kindly answered my questions on the F&B lovers page. Thankyou
This product isn't as good as it used to be
I have recently used this on a job, hall stairs and landing over three floors.
I sold it to the clients as a really durable product.
After a few days of it being finished, there were hand marks on some of the walls.
I wiped over those areas with a clean damp microfiber cloth
Omg, the areas looked worse and after a few hours, stood out so bad, I had to repaint.
This to me is not a product that can be wiped let alone be scrubbed.
It used to be much better for this, but not now.
I agree it goes on beautifully and covers extremely well too but durability, I have to put a huge?!!!! To it.
I commented on this on your Facebook page and someone mentioned that the quality of this product isn't as good as it used to be as well
Paint a panel with a dark grey and when dry, scrub it with a damp cloth and see what happens
I have started using Johnstones smooth masonry in hallways now
You can scrub that without a problem
Interesting. Have you brought this up with the paint rep?
I wonder what it would have been like if it had had a couple of weeks to properly go off??? Was thinking of using this as last lot of Tiklurila I used was full of lumps......worst emulsion ever.....and I love Tikkurila!
@@daveh1081 I'm using less Optiva products now.... Give Isomat Premium Color a go as another alternative
Love the Helmi and anti reflex 2 etc but the emulsion.....deary me! I should've complained......I think they threw a bag of grit in when they mixed it for me! I'll see where my local Isomat supplier is. Gotta say, I also generally like Johno's but it's getting some mixed reviews here.
Thanks Phil@@ProfessionalPainterDecorator
Don’t buy from brewers. Twice the price compared to online stores. Paintshed is value £££
Brewers will price match any company and they own the paint shed 👍🏻
£41 quid s as l in at brewers I. A colour
Did you type that in the rain?!
@@danielwoolcock7267if they own paintshed why do they charge so much more. And will that match a paintshed price with a discount coat ?
@@TheSmithytnow check paintshed
It's not good in light yellows like Wimborne white.
Stick with F&B for that ;)
Should have just used teknos 02 end of.
I would on a ceiling... But I needed it for walls and ceilings..
Trouble is Teknos I can't get off the shelf. So no good when you need a paint quick
The other room I used Isomat premium color. Ordered that in ready via brewers at the same time as picking this Job is up.
@@ProfessionalPainterDecorator just order it from top dec the day before or stock up on it. I don’t understand why it’s not law to use it on ceilings
Used to use this but found macphersons to be far more superior
Which McPherson's?
@@ProfessionalPainterDecorator durable acrylic matt let me know what you think
@@kevinohare7917 I think it'll be much the same?
@ProfessionalPainterDecorator I also think the johnstones durable matt is not kind to roller sleeves ,I call it the roller killer
I'm not a lover of this, I found opacity awful. In fact after 2 walls I switched out to Dulux Diamond matt and the difference was night and day for opacity! Recently did a job where owner supplied Valspar trade tough matt though. Hands down the best durable I've used and I've just about tried all of them...i know your a Valspar hater Phil but it's worth a try
What did you think to Isomat premium color?
Can they colour match F& B colours in the Dulux diamond matte ?
Yes I've been satisfied my tough matt so far. Have you tried Albany durable? Phil rates this. @doozeruk2000
🎉
Don’t buy the white to go on walls it’s brutal, unless u want to put on coat after coat after coat after coat to get it to cover🤢
like most white paints
Always tip paint from the front of the tin to not cover the instructions 🤣
Amateurs and DIYers and tiktoker lol
Got to admit Phil I was taught to pour from front of can at college in 1989.. So it's not new
Haha like the oil based vs water based debate! 🤣 I was always told to tip whichever side doesn't have the sticker on it lol
you're only as good as the person who taught you. lol
Agreed. The most important info is on the back! If the front of the tin is clean, that's a problem!
Tell Brian to stop sanding while your filming
He's not paid to stand around.
And I've edited it for background noise too lol 😂
Wow I couldn’t disagree more 😂 I find this too shiny and flashes horribly. And not durable at all…Colour matches are very good though.
Your alternative
@@ProfessionalPainterDecorator didn’t mean to come across as a dick btw! Big fan of your UA-cam stuff. And definitely not saying you’re wrong. Just that my experience has been so different. I’ve had too many customers say it’s not holding up, for me to have huge amount of faith in it. On the other hand I’ve had nothing but positive comments from jobs where I had used Optiva 3/5 or Isomat premium (which I what use most of the time now). Ceilings I’m on AR2 bandwagon or MacPhersons Eclipse if it’s off the shelf.
@@ProfessionalPainterDecorator just saw your comment about purchase of Tikkurila by PPG - hadn’t considered this but maybe it’s improved since I used it last….
@@maulstar1 lol. I didn't read it like that, don't worry.
Eclipes is a cheap contract matt paint, false opacity , comes off on a damp sponge when wiped. AR2, Isomat Ceiling paint etc don't.
Why would you paint a ceiling with a durable paint…are you expecting many hand marks and knocks etc? 😂
Because you can just use the same paint on the ceiling as the walls. No cutting in as such from the ceiling to the wall as there's not even a different sheen
@@paulobryano but the walls on this particular Job are not white so it’s a pointless comparison,
You've not watched and listened to the video?
@@ProfessionalPainterDecorator probably got bored 🥱
