Great video, thanks for the coaching and thanks for making me look good!
Hey guys, who is here in 2022?? If you're interested in doing the BEST backflip possible, give my new video some love, guaranteed to increase your backflip height :D ua-cam.com/video/XWvrAvFTeXE/v-deo.html
Thank you for a proper back tuck tutorial. Most people throw their head back and you corrected this. THANK YOU.
That emotion by James when he first landed the tuck on the normal floor is just priceless. Huoagh!!
☺☺☺☺
Awesome stuff. This is an area of fitness I haven't explored too closely yet.
+Vahva Fitness Need to get on it :D
All these people that can do back flips make me feel shit about my self
Probs stuff you can do that others can't + you can learn this! Chin up lad :)
I can do frontflips yet when I see a dude doing a backflip I feel suicidal lmao
@muhammad javed man when I learned it I didn't have equipment either. just two of my buddies and something that was supposed to be sand. Plus I was terrified by it because I had fallen straight on my head previously. Just keep trying don't give up and eventually you will land it. What is harder though is the proper russian backflip
@muhammad javed I know the struggle bro took me years to get to the point where I land it everywhere with no problem
@muhammad javed what I do is basically everytime before I do a backflip I focus on something right in front of me. Then when you are ready to flip just jump straight up and don't look away from what you are focused on. After that you will feel the right moment pull your knees up to your chest as quickly as you can and tuck as tightly as you can. The rest is just to land it. If you follow these steps and most importantly overcome the fear you should end up with a proper russian backflip.
I don't think most people will realize how quickly your friend learned that.
Yea man I’m on day three of trying to backflip on my own and I have made little to no progress
@@nessuperm9432 Took me probably months on a trampoline(would be a bit faster if I didn't fuck up one time and land on my neck and get scared for months), dunno when I'll be able to try on the ground>
Btw. how is it going?
@@mementomori7160 I’m getting closer. Still no backflip tho. I’ll let you know when I actually do
Do not believe most BS on YT. For an adult who has actually never done this it, and possibly with overweight problems, it may take months/years of hard work to arrive there. And may even never happen 🙂 That guy obviously already had the move...
@@W-HealthPianoExercises I can assure you it was my first go.
Hey guys! Your response to this vid has been amazing and I'm very happy that James and I could help so many of you. I have another video, this time teaching Max, using the same 4 steps. Perhaps Max's journey will help in ways this video couldn't? Check it out here: ua-cam.com/video/nnhZy-OvZH0/v-deo.html
Hey Fernando, interested to know how exactly would it help you? My main concern here is that ppl tend to over exaggerate the risks (what if I fall on my head??) associated with the back tuck and focus on them so much that it plays a larger role than it should holding many back from achieving the skill and consolidating it. I'd say 50% of the learning process for the back tuck is about overcoming the mental barriers we put up. Because the fear is so overblown, I find the most effective way to deal with the fear is to of course address any questions but more importantly not focus on it; by breaking the back tuck down into easy-to-follow steps, in a safe environment, there is absolutely no need to put emphasis on the unsound fears that prevent us from achieving the skill (I want them to focus on what to do not what NOT to do).
I’m so close to being able to do one on ground, but I can’t seem to tuck tight enough no matter how hard I try! Any tips or drills?
Great work! Keep it up.
Nice coaching (and spotting as well)!
This was so helpful!! Thanks!
I feel like he will make the best tutorials.

Hello!!! Tyson, i like back flip, and i really want to learn.I m very much scared of practicing that. How to remove that fright???
Please give me some tips for that.
Steps 1 and 2 remove the fear. Step 1 allows you to focus on jumping high and tucking without the fear of having to rotate upside down. Step 2 allows you to focus on the rotation in a controlled and soft setting. Steps 1 and 2 also halve the skill so when you're comfortable with steps 1 and 2 (and you perform them with proficiency) combine them for step 3. Step 3 is on a trampoline so you get more than enough assistance to complete the somersault (no need to worry about not jumping high enough) so you only have to think about the technique. That's the best way to overcome the fear: Follow the steps in video! :)
Nice vedio
Thanks

Nice
what is the actual price of these equipments i am badly desperate to learn tht skill
Looks easy and funny
Good..
So are there 2 types of flips,?/ whats the one where your hands touch the ground and you flip legs backwards,??
ПАВЛО БОДНАР backhandspring
"Très bien" ;)
Français xd j'adore ptn😂
Do the mats have to be stacked that high for step one or can they be lower? Would jumping onto a mat that's about hip height work too?
+Cody Clark About shoulder height. The aim of step one is to teach you the first half of the back-tuck that is to jump up, getting full extension and initiating the tuck. The mats are expected to catch you during your rotation at the height of your jump. If they're hip height and you're doing the exercise correctly, you'd land in an awkward position that isn't necessarily safe and it doesn't teach the right principles.
+Tyson Edwards Thanks, Tyson!
How long does it take to learn
Phòng này gọi là phòng gì, i need to know the name of this room
Ik im late but thx ive landed my first backflip thx bruh 🤗 hugs
👏
Yo I always land on my knees with a mattress pls help me with tips tricks etc
How long did it take to learn?
You say I want to come there, I have to learn.
just reply
I'm scared to land on my neck and I don't have anyone to help me out
Your neck will be fine on soft mats if stay in your tuck position as shown in the video. If you want to bulletproof your neck muscles to further protect yourself check out my neck strength routine: ua-cam.com/video/B2ZNYxXgvCw/v-deo.html
if you can, front handspring tutorial, please
kaha hai Ye
cool bro
I hope this goes viral. All these kids trying it on their own are going to break their necks and wind up in a wheelchair. They need proper spotting.
I wana learn properly
I need someone to train me like this coz i keep landing on my head
i cant get my knees to tuck when i jump.. maybe im too scared
nice
woohoo , backflip will see later but first I want to fall on those yellow cubes.:D
i have a question for you. How long has that guy been doing back flips? and when i say that i mean was that day his first time doing it.
I'm pretty sure James had tried some into a pool but apart from that, this was his first time.
This was my first time on land.
Step one. Get a gymnastics hall. Idk what it's called, lmao
super ma
Is it common for adults going in and getting gymnastic lessons>? I really want to.. but I'm embarrassed being late 20's n all.. I'm from Perth and all iv'e seen is jungle gym lol
+Peeenos There is nothing embarrassing about wanting to improve your body's functionality and gymnastics is one of the best movements to undertake for that.
Most gymnastics centres should offer adult classes or 'open gym' which is for adults to come in and train. Sometimes they're for adults to come in and do their own thing and sometimes they're instructed (you can enquire about this before going to the class if you want). Some gyms will only be for children, I call them 'kindergyms' and their facilities won't cater for adults.
I did a quick Google 'Perth Gymnastics' and Active Gymnastics and High Flyers - Trampoline and Gymnastics Academy offer adult classes. Just make some calls :)
Tyson Edwards Dayum, Thanks for the in depth reply!, I'll definitely look into those places and enquire about some lessons...and try and snag one of my mates into doing it with me haha, Doing back flips on command would be so rad :D
4:05-4:11 lol
Great video as well
Who else is watching this in 2017??
Better hope so, still the best tutorial out there! :D
memeemememememememememememememememememememe
Hell yeah!
xena peake if we don't learn karate it will work!?
xena peake me
And front flip
Hi Tyson! This is unrelated to the video, but what are your thoughts on Crossfit, and have you & Lachlan ever tried it?
+Jesse Kim I'll make a video on this as I've had a few people ask this question.
Tyson Edwards Awesome! Is it because it became repetitive when asked? If so, sorry :(
Nah it's fine! If I get a question enough it means it would benefit you guys if I made a video as there may be twice as many of you that want to know the answer but haven't asked.
can i learn this at home by myself?
With a good and very large mat, possibly. Bu it would be better with the help of someone like you for reciprocal spotting (and emergency call, in case needed 🙂)....
You are best tanks so much 191991191919🤘👊👊👊👊👊👊👍👍😂👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
Hi , i am learning the backflip but i still cant get it right, i have 2 videos of my backflips on my channel, i would really appreciate it if you or anyone else reading this could give me some tips, thanks!
Throwing your head back and untucking too early.
Can You Teach Me too?
i need help
wonder if i could do one..im 6ft tall and 200 pounds not athletic at all..i can backflip on a trampoline easy but never tried to on the ground
Best way to try would be to do step one. You can tell from there if you're getting enough height to realistically rotate (in a back tuck).
Brad Silvers I'm 6ft and 200 pounds (85kgs) in this video. I had a 55cm standing vert at the time.
Hey I can do a backflip but sometimes I land on my head and sometimes on my stomach plz help
Either your tuck isn't powerful enough or you're breaking out of the tuck too early. Tuck hard, tuck tight and hold it!
Moey The logangster or your jumping back hey dude there is so Many thing in the video you didint mention lol tnx for the jump thing lol will try on bed
anthony rodallegas lol I can land it now
It's so *funny* when he falls into the foam pit
9:42 the have two of the same people with the pony tail in the left coner
Unstable Ninja frick you got me
If don't learn karate it will work ?
If you don't know karate you can backflip _at_ or _onto_ someone, but it is risky.
Tyson Edwards so that's means I can't?
Is this place in NY
This is in Sydney, Australia but there are definitely places like this in NY.
Backflip
Im 13 year old and i fo backflio
i am fear boy
He is newbie training backflip?
I just saw Lachlan. Haha!
Where?
+Flqmez 2:41 haha
teach me
Me
لو عندي هاي القاعه اطب دبل
1:43 😂😂😂😂😂
I can backflip on tramp but not ground
....the first step itself is hard
You'll get there! Out of interest, what is hard about it?
I can backflip, but I’ve never landed it on ground.
Just on my knees...
Probs breaking out too early (therefore hold tuck longer) or not jumping high enough (therefore refer to step 1).
Thx for the advice!
This is not cool people I can't do that my legs hurt it's feels like I can't breath
U funny
Thats your problem...
You look to round to be attempting backflips comrade
I can backflip
Anyone 2021

Rafafa .-. Fr
I'm pretty sure he has done a back tuck before seeing how he caught it that fast
Nope, I was always scared to try on my own. The equipment available, plus trust in Tyson and the progressions chosen contributed to a two hour session free from fear.
who else is watching this in 2018
Kiara Morris 😍
myee
That's not flat ground tho
This is not he is first one
But you have to focus
Where is this jymnastic club.....?
Lovely Usama me
Obviously he could allready back flip
I can assure you, I couldn't!
They totally practised that before.. Cant prove that but the way he is doing all these exercises to prepare for the back tuck looks really like he already did it before. No hate man
Justhis Nope this was my first go on the floor. I've only ever thrown myself into swimming pools - many back slaps!
take 4 steps. backflip.
