Let me know what your word of the year or NY resolution is! Loved this conversation last year! 🤍 Or just let me know what item you would have grabbed ☺️
Loved all your found treasures, especially the ceramic mugs. My two words of the year are "strength", and "peace". "He alone is my rock and my salvation, my fortress where I will never be shaken, found twice in Psalm 62". God bless!
I have always put my locally made ceramic mugs in the dishwasher - every night for years. No issues for me. That painting from your grandmother is really special. I also wanted to say that I think you're so articulate and easy to listen to - with an upbeat attitude. Love this channel!
Loved this video ❤️ Thank you so much for sharing your word for the year and sharing the bible quotes I have noted them down as they all seemed to be relevant to me too 🙏 You really made me feel much more motivated and positive about having a re set both practically and spiritually 🙏🙏❤️ I have the Catholic “Amen” App and I have decided to try the Bible in a year challenge again as I couldn’t keep up last year!! I loved all your finds especially that gorgeous skirt so pretty and feminine! Sending prayers from UK 🙏
Oh I am so glad that it could be inspiring and a a springboard for you I hope 🤍 my mom is doing Bible in a year again this year after loving it so much last year! 👏🏻 maybe next year I can get to it 🥰
I totally prefer the digging aspect through the mess for most of my trips. I prefer the clothes to be sorted by size but the other items I love to dig in!
Great finds and it's so fun thrifting while on vacation. Can't wait for the upcoming videos! My daughter gave me a Bible study for Christmas called Rest, so I'm gonna make that one of my words for the year.
Hi Emily, my favorite is the big basket. I also saw a child's table with 2 chairs that looked cute in your video at the antique store I think. My word for the year is self-care. It's 2 words but I made it one with the hyphen. Last year I did not take care of myself and I'm feeling it. I had so much stress, change in gyms, and health stuff going on. Have a good week.
Great thrift haul! I understand being tired from that drive..i l live in Tennessee, halfway between Knoxville and Chattanooga. My son and his family live in Florida, about 30min from Tampa. We make the trip as often as possible and its about a 9-10hr drive. Its really wears you out!🥴 Enjoyed the video and your word of the year, thanks for sharing. I pray many blessings for you and your family this year!🙏❤
Every time you said “I don’t know if that makes sense” I thought, that makes perfect sense!! I haven’t decided on my word of the year but I like what you said about filling your cup.
I’m so happy I found you and your Chanel!! My husband and i recently bought a vacation home in the mountains and I’m trying to decorate with beautiful second hand items so i have been searching in UA-cam for inspiration . But I LOVE the fact that you added an espiritual reflection to your video, and your calendar…!!! As a Catholic woman always in search to grow in faith I’m very thankful for your video. I will sit tight and watch all your videos now! ❤
Aw I’m so glad! Yes, I am very much trying to incorporate my faith into this channel where I share all my hobbies 🥰 hope you have so much fun decorating your new home!!
Awesome video!!!! I'm very glad that you chose the word "REST" instead of "BALANCE"!!!! Please be realistic about your goals. Because you & your family are dealing with "major" changes in your life; moving, new location, pregnancy of a 3rd Child, Resident for your Husband and transition into being a full-time "stay at home mom". Praying that "stillness" & "resting" in the Lord will give you "Peace" & "Contentment" as your Family move through these major transistions of Life!!!! God Bless soon to be Family of Five!!!!
It’s such an art! Dominick and I tried it once for a date night and our pieces turned out hideous 😂 I have respect for anyone who can make it look good!
Emily zinnias are super easy…water when planted …but if you get rain occasionally they are fine. Marigolds are super easy too. I save the seeds from year to year…they are way hardier that way. I loved your finds, especially the mugs. I don’t have a dishwasher so I don’t know , but we collect pottery from a potter in Kentucky and think you can put that in the dishwasher. I love original art too…I don’t even care if the person is known or not. I love the piece from your grandmother. I loved the baskets. We used to have five huge gardens and the last several years I can hardly grow a tomato. Ok, I know I am excited about finding you…hope you are doing well. ❤❤❤
I’ve just had a diagnosis in December after struggling with my health a couple of years. Spiritually I’ve had a crises as well that has just not been great emotionally. BUT I have chosen the word NOURISH for 2024. Nourish body and soul. Rising above it all is the plan! 😊
@@EmilyGarbe the Lord is good! He truly is teaching me how to nourish my body and soul! Just since December when I was diagnosed I was told that I had taken good charge of my diet and I don’t need insulin. Then after reporting glucose readings daily I was taken completely off of one medication and the last one was lowered. By the help and grace of God I will have a testimony of complete healing! The Dr is amazed at the results this far. To God be the glory!
❤what you hauled, your word for 2024 was wonderful. Certainly enjoyed the Word of the Lord you shared. My word is joy, The joy of the Lord is my strength found on the book of Nehemiah. God’s blessing and joy in this new year of 2024.
Emily..I am new to your channel. I told my husband that I found someone who is like us. I love that you won’t overspend. We had something really bad happen to us and it costs us a lot of money. I told you our house is filled with treasures from estate sales. I will look at antique stores but we buy mostly from estate sales. I do go to Goodwill some, but ours is expensive and they eBay the really good stuff. We don’t have the bins. I like your word of the year. Mine is Grateful. I want to be grateful for everything we have, not so worried about what we don’t have. You ask if we like nice clean places. We don’t like the newer expensive looking houses. We have found more beautiful things at older crustier houses and we bring flashlights and a magnifying glass to make sure we are not bringing home broken stuff. I embroidered with my mom when I was young. I need to start again. Ok going to watch what you got . ❤❤❤
You are a sweet, Godly young mom. Your sense of humor and spirit shine through in your videos. It is a pleasure to watch you-enjoy your sweet family. Your home will be beautiful.
My word for the year is “why not” why not eat on China everyday, why not, drink your beverages from wine glasses everyday, why not take that vacation? Everyday should be celebrated… why not?!
Good finds sweetie. You look really pretty. My word for the new year is Peace. Our country and also the world are in such turmoil right now. And this year is going to be worse. No one can get along with anyone else. So I am praying harder for Pease in the world. And my life and home will be peaceful. I find peace in God's Word. I am rambling. Lol But I hope it made some sense. Tyfs HUGS
Love it! It does make sense. It will be good to look back at this time next year and hopefully see the fruits of it. However the Lord end up orchestrating it!
Gift and thrift was the one that was kinda fancy, huge and very well organized! Mercy house was the first one. And then valley mission in Staunton was great!
My husband won’t go to the bins with me. He says it’s one step up from dumpster diving. 😂😂😂😂😂 I just leave him at home now! That swivel candle holder was lovely.
God bless you and your heart for your family. Mothering several little ones is definitely a challenge. Prayer becomes the conversation - continuous conversation God desires. I’m grateful you have this extended and consistent time with your children. What a blessing!
I flew back home for the holidays and went a little thrifting crazy. My hometown has way better thrifting options then in my current town. Bringing it home was a challenge, but there was only one casualty 😅
I wish I had a Goodwill Bins store near me. The Goodwills by me have raised prices and definitely are priced higher because of Thrifting trend. The needy cant afford. Some in my area are calling for boycott of Goodwills.🤷♀️
I live about 45 minutes from Harrisonburg. That first thrift store you were at has like cult following. Huge lines everyday when they are opening. You can find some great deals there and the book section is amazing! I am so curious where that antique store was that you said had mostly books? P.S. Virginia is not the North East. 😉😉Yes, north compared to Florida, but we are still the South!
Gift and thrift!? It was busy in there, but didn’t know it was that crazy! How funny. The antique store with a lot of books was called triangle Emporium. It was right next to the dressed up boutique where I found the skirt! We were trying to go to a different one, but it was closed early for some reason! My cousin went to JMU, so she knew where to take us lol and your comment about the northeast cracked me up. It was so cold for this fl girl that I felt very north to me 😂😂😂

That one was cute!! The top was plastic which I didn’t love but probably practical 🤷🏻♀️ and that’s a good one! Ours are kind of similar!
Absolutely admire your dedication to this year 2024…

I appreciated your musings on ‘rest’. I like thrift stores that are put together and organized. I am not into digging for treasures.
So glad you enjoyed it!
The little "wood things" at 3:10 are small bowls for soy sauce and rests for chopstix.
Cute!!!
Love your videos! Basil is the only thing I can grow too! 🤦🏼♀🤣
Too funny! Thanks! 🥰
Great video✌️
Glad you enjoyed
Love the big basket

Hi Emily, those little wooden bowls you showed at the beginning would be soy sauce dishes and chopstick rests, I believe.
Oh thank you! That makes sense! How pretty
Those wooden stands are for for sushi. For dipping

sushi - soy sauce holders and chopstick rests (nice I've never seen a wooden set bowls)
