You have your mother's beautiful skin! It was nice that you included her. I loved seeing their home. Your mother and grandmother have great taste and have passed on so much knowledge to you.
The container 42:30 rests inside another container for bottom watering plants like African violets. I also have the clear glass nativity set! My son gave me a Bethlehem olive nativity set this year. The star winds the music box that plays Silent Night! So exciting!
You definitely got your mom's beauty , sweetness and soft-soften nature!! Cool stuff! One of your mom's paintings will look fantastic in that art frame!! Your mom and grandma are both so talented!!
Your little glass nativity set I bought back in the early 80’s. I use it every year on a mirror covered with a cloche in the middle of our dining room table. I still love it to this day. You and your Mom found some wonderful treasures! Have a great week. Oh the fluttered pot with the unglazed bottom was a violet pot. The pot it goes in that holds the water is missing.
Loved seeing your Mother in the video. I love your finds. I especially loved the glass nativity and the cropped sweater. Hilary would love that sweater. Have a good week. HUGS ☺🙏❄❄⛄❄❄
I used to work at a catholic school. One of the sisters was ancient and each December she would share her papier mache nativity set from France. So lovely. Yours are a treasure too.
The cute desk that the drawer would not close made me think possibly something fell back behind the open area when it’s opened and now won’t allow it to close?
Yes! That piece felt like a magnet, drawing me in! 🧲 I also thought maybe something dropped behind the drawer, maybe a book. Beautiful tall piece with pretty feet!! 😍
You got some wonderful items on your trip to Virginia. I'm going to the Factory Antique Mall in two weeks with my friends. It is very overwhelming when you walk in the door but so worth the trip. I also collect nativity sets. So far I have sets from the 1930's, 1940's, 1950's and 1980's. I'm always on the hunt for 1920's and earlier sets. Looking forward to your next video.
Hi Emily! I’m pretty sure the wood frame you found is an Adirondack frame. I have one that I got from my mother in law. I love the unique style of them! I ordered a downloadable print off of Etsy and put it in mine. You found some great pottery pieces, too!
Emily, I live about 2 miles from this Factory Antique Mall. It's a great antique store. Something for everyone. I recently saw that bunny picture there and I absolutely fell in love with it. I work downtown Staunton at an art gallery. And I shop at Valley Mission thrift store all the time and the one in Harrisonburg. So great to see our places on You Tube. Please come back.
Oh my goodness! How cool! I think you may know my grandmother. Nancy Spahr? She has some art at the gallery. We will definitely be back! We love your area!
OMG. I thought she looked familiar when I saw her on your video of your parent's beautiful home, but I couldn't quite place her. That is cool. Tell her hello and I love her work. And I'll see her at the gallery. Thanks for sharing such a nice video of Staunton.
How fun!!!! I would love to visit! I live the pottery and Nativity sets! I have a glass set like that which was my Mama’s! I cherish it!❤Your Mama is so sweet!❤
Hello, so great seeing your shopping venture ! They had really some lovely pieces there . I really liked all you got & your moms also. The best find was the nativity sets . So lovely ! Look forward to your next video next week. Thanks for sharing 😊
Awesome haul!!!! Enjoy your Mother sharing decoration ideas!!!! Great advice of seeking inspiration from antique mall to seach at the thrift stores and Facebook Marketplace for a faction of the antique mall prices!!!!!! God Bless!!!
Also need to note my phone did NOT appreciate the length of this one and this video almost broke it lol but I got a computer for editing ordered and will be getting better hopefully 🤞
Loved it!! Wishing I lived closer to exquisite finds like these. Best purchase was the sweater. It looked perfect on you. But all of your finds were wonderful and the prices were great!! Looking forward to the next 😊!
You guys are so cute! Love that bunny print in the gold frame. It was probably quite expensive. But oh so cute!I believe my fav was the criss cross frame that your grandma is going to paint a picture for. Love this video.
I think the cross that you plan to hang on the wall may have had a lid at one point in time. They were used to keep a rosary in and were usually kept by the bedside.
the short rocking chair is known as a sewing rocker, i have a vintage one. sanding letters that are to bold will soften the boldness of the lettering.. enjoyed your thrifting,
The burgundy scalloped flower pot looks like it may have once had a round bowl it sat in to water plants from the bottom, like african violets. Very pretty.
My neighbor makes candles and she told me to be sure the first time you burn it allow the wax to melt entirely across the surface. It's called candle memory. I can use cheap or expensive ones and it works to burn them evenly and completely.
I read this too!! I tried it on another one I made and the same problem happened. I’m going to look into it more. I think the quality of the wax could have been the problem?
I love the chairs you are seeing , the reason why old chairs and tables use to be so low is because people were a lot shorter way back when. I'm not sure if those chairs are the reason for the short stature but true antique table and chairs are short. Love your videos :)
For the two (2) small picture frames, it would be so sweet if you could print pictures of your 2 older sons, or whatever images you prefer, in sepia. Would be current and vintage at the same time. 😊 For the ruffled-edge cranberry planter, it is missing the bottom part. Those come as a 2-piece self-watering planter set. The plant goes in the upper part you have and water goes in the bottom part you don't have.
Yes, I second what Terri Zimmerman said. Your $2 burgundy pot is for African Violets to draw up the water from the bottom. That is the proper way to water African Violets -- not pour water on the top of the planter. It is missing the bottom section but you can use something else.
I had the glass nativity and it came with a small round mirror to set the people on. Somehow the pieces got lost over the years with little boys like you have. I would like to find another one.
Hello Emily, when my kids were young, I taught them to put their pajamas under their pillow when they were making their bed. You printed your art from open access?
I own a flower and beekeeping microfarm in Gloucester VA near Wiliamsburgh and own a booth at Marketplace Antiques! Its a big antique mall but not even close to that size! I think yal lare a few hourrs away but ill have to check it out there at some point!
The reddish bowl that is partially unfinished appears to be half of an Africa violet planter. There would be a second bowl it goes into that holds water.
Hi beautiful Emily and Emily’s mom and dad. I love coming along with you. I saw our dining room rug in one of the shops. It’s hard to decide when there is that much. Unfortunately, I can not put another piece of furniture in our little house. Your mom and dad can . I left the cutest Nativity set for less than four dollars at our Goodwill , went back and it was gone. I don’t think I have seen a glass set. I love you are going to collect Nativities. I love pottery . We had friends over for a simple lunch of soup , cornbread and some snacks stuff and they complimented us on our pottery plates, cups, soup tureens , etc. Pottery here is very inexpensive at estate sales. I loved both sweaters .,your cropped and the blue. I love you can share it with your mom. We have not had school here for three weeks…two weeks of holiday and then snow. It is beautiful, but I am ready for warmer weather. I will watch this again..Thanks for sharing your time with us.
I am so glad you enjoyed it Rita! Aww your collection of pottery sounds lovely! Wow I so wish we could have had some of that snow while in VA. next time! Wish I could share some of our ☀️with you 😅
I have those same pictures of Chico and Eliana that you showed, they were my Mothers who had them hanging above her desk along with another boy & girl set from a different country…I’m 85 so that tells you how old they are…I would be happy to forward a picture of Elaina so you are able to see the details of her face. Where or how do I do that if you want to see it?
I have a cabin in Highland County VA. We pass through Staunton on the way and it is a great town to thrift and antique in. I got the greatest pair of cowboy boots for $24.00 at the huge mall! 🩷🩷🩷
Let me know if you enjoyed coming along!
@@EmilyGarbe of course!! I look forward to Sundays when you post!
@@christineskiles6592 you are so sweet! Thanks
What a steal for the white Nativity set. I love everything, especially the 3 pictures.
Love having your mom join in Emily. I can tell you have learned so much from her and also her mother!
I loved having her!! We are the best of friends really 💕
You and your mom are so cute! Spending time with parents is such a blessing. ❤
It is!! I don’t take it for granted ❤️
You have your mother's beautiful skin! It was nice that you included her. I loved seeing their home. Your mother and grandmother have great taste and have passed on so much knowledge to you.
So funny - i was thinking the same thing but wasn’t going to comment. Jealous!
Aw thank you, you guys are so kind! I’ll tell her you said so ❤️
The container 42:30 rests inside another container for bottom watering plants like African violets. I also have the clear glass nativity set! My son gave me a Bethlehem olive nativity set this year. The star winds the music box that plays Silent Night! So exciting!
Oh so good to know!! I put a cactus in it because I had one but now I want some African violets 😍 your new nativity set sounds absolutely lovely!!
Yes, it is the top part of an African violet pot
I love the nativity sets especially. the white one and the blue floral plate you bought. The white lacy sweater is adorable on you.
You definitely got your mom's beauty , sweetness and soft-soften nature!! Cool stuff! One of your mom's paintings will look fantastic in that art frame!! Your mom and grandma are both so talented!!
Aw you are so kind. I’ll tell them you said so ☺️

So glad you enjoyed seeing her in this on. Thank you Judy! ❤️
I think the Factory Antique Mall is where Amanda's Mercantile is located. She is gem. I really enjoyed your adventure with your family.
You’re right! I just looked her up. Thanks for the recommendation. I’ve never seen her before ☺️
I was watching very intently to see if she filmed her space. She was so close with the wood slab guy!
I was waiting for Amanda's booth also!! haha
That antique shop was huge. Wow! So much great furniture that was left behind for us to enjoy!
I know, right?!
Enjoyed thrifting with you two ❤️! Your mom is sweet . Love all the items..but my favorite were the two nativity scenes ❤!
I'm so glad you enjoyed coming along! I loved finding those nativity sets!
I used to work at a catholic school. One of the sisters was ancient and each December she would share her papier mache nativity set from France. So lovely. Yours are a treasure too.
Oh that sounds just lovely!
I loved seeing you with your Mom again!
I’m so glad you guys enjoy seeing her on here!
The cute desk that the drawer would not close made me think possibly something fell back behind the open area when it’s opened and now won’t allow it to close?
I was really drawn to that piece too and would have checked it out as you said.
That’s a great point!! I hope someone who loves it finds it and tries that
Yes! That piece felt like a magnet, drawing me in! 🧲 I also thought maybe something dropped behind the drawer, maybe a book. Beautiful tall piece with pretty feet!! 😍
I absolutely love the handmade pottery.

also, the way your mama looks at you 🥹
Haha I’m so glad it made you happy! You are so sweet to notice her gaze 🥰

Thank you! I’m so glad you loved it, wore it yesterday and it was just perfect 😊!
Great day and finds 🙌
Loved everything about this shopping trip. The reason those chairs are so small is because people were much smaller in stature back in the 1800s
So glad you enjoyed coming along and that makes sense! Wow
I loved going thrifting with you ❤ and finding the perfect antique bedside tables ❤
Those were a great find!! Was so much fun with you mama ❤️
You guys are so cute!

The bunny was so sweet. That frame was THICK! And thank you! I’m so excited to see what she creates
Emily I love your style and enjoy all your videos thank you for sharing..I always look forward to Sunday to watch your videos ❤Blessings 🙌

❤❤❤. Love the pottery !
Thank you!!
I loved the painting of the trees and fields with the blue,
Thank you!! Me too!
Love this!! 😍😍
The burgundy scalloped flower pot looks like it may have once had a round bowl it sat in to water plants from the bottom, like african violets. Very pretty.
That makes so much sense! Thank you for letting me know!

I also collect Nativity Sets and one that I inherited from my in-laws is so beautiful. I keep it set up all the time
Enjoyed your shopping trip! Your pot with unglazed bottom is top part of an African violet pot.
So glad you enjoyed coming along! That makes sense!!

Hello Emily, when my kids were young, I taught them to put their pajamas under their pillow when they were making their bed.

I do that now 😂
Haha that’s a great idea! I think my mom actually had me do that too 😂
Great finds. I love your taste!
Thanks so much!
Amanda’s Mercantile has a booth in the Factory antique mall. She is fun to watch and has a real talent for styling her booth. This was a fun video
I just found her through one of yall on here! I wish I had known before!!

Just emailed them
Maybe your grandma could touch up paint her and that would make them even more special ♥️
You brought some green items ❤ Happy New Year 2025. Lorna
Thank you Lorna! Happy new year!
The shorter chairs: i read that they were called fireplace chairs....
Whew! That was a long video. Could have made it into 2 videos! Good haul
The rocker is a sewing rocker. Notice there are no arms.
Ahh makes sense!
❤
No arm rockers are nursing rockers
Good to know!’
You have a sweet mother.
She’s the best ☺️
Good video. Next time tell us the prices.
Thank you!
You talk so fast I can’t understand a word you’re saying!
