I have learned more from you than any other expert on UA-cam. You also seem to be one of the nicest humans on the planet. Thank you for your generosity.☺
As a former flea market dealer, I could get $3.00 for anything functional or beautiful! Thanks for helping the garden club and those watching, like me!
Boy, those lovely ladies worked so hard to get the room ready for the sale! I hoped they raised lots of money. Thanks George for helping them. Take care darling, and love to Xeno xx
George, I always enjoy your videos, but this one might be my favorite. It was wonderful to see you interact with the volunteers and give your advice. Also pointing out each piece instead of moving along was enjoyable. Wish I could go to this sale. They are so lucky to have you help them! Bravo!!
I dated Rex Begay for a couple of years. He was a very talented Native American artist. You should check out his work. I have several pieces. Unfortunately, he passed away 5-6 years ago…😢
Hey Sis!!! I got excited after seeing your comment in hopes George had come across one of Rex’s pieces!! I treasure the few prints I have of his… miss our PowWow days… and you 😉😘♥️♥️♥️
Perfect understanding of how to price for an event like this fundraiser. "If someone is willing to pay $2, I think you can get $3". The advice on what sets to split up was spot on. Loved hearing the incredulous reaction to upping the price on the Blendo, gah I agree with the woman, that is ugly stuff, lol. Thank you, George.
Thank you! I know some people were surprised by how low prices were (and in a few cases, by how much I raised them, like the Blendo... it might not be for everyone, but it sold for $12 instead of $2! )
"Very carefully." That was my dad's line, too. I had fun watching and guessing what you were going to price things at. I was excited when I got it right. 😊
Fantastic video! This was so much fast paced interesting and informative content that I am overwhelmed! Going to watch it again right away to be able to catch your editorial comments printed in between. I was too busy watching the items at the time. So much eye candy! I wanted to purchase so many pieces right away. Your professionalism was seriously impressive. I also want to thank you for answering my question about my art on my shelf mushroom. You did it live on an appearance at an opening. Anyway, I so appreciate your sharing of so much knowledge freely. All my best!, Sharron Mainor
Oh that's terrific! I'm glad it came off that way. We wanted it priced to sell, but also to maximize the benefit of all those donations for them. I'm glad I was able to answer your question, I try to remember to do so when I can!
Hi George! Thank you so much for all you do. I sent you an appraisal once and you are so knowledgeable! Also love how you keep it real. I come back to watch this video at times so I can learn more!
Great education here, learning current values on things that don't really interest me except for their resale value. I'm kind with Jocelyn in that I find it hard to get excited about listing something that doesn't excite me, but a reseller needs to know what is "out there"!
UA-cam introduced you to me by putting this video on my feed. I can tell you will be a great source of knowledge and your integrity shines through. Got me to subscribe. Nice to meet you Antique Nomad, I am Junk Shack Baby ;)
Well, it depends where you sell! These prices were for a flea market with just two days to sell, so you should be able to get more if you're in a regular retail location...but if you sell in a flea market, dealers will want to see prices like these
I'm so glad you caught that! I think of you whenever I see or hear anything from Saskatchewan. I hope the weather abates so you can get out there again soon!
This was great. I would have done about the same thing on pricing. There were a couple of pieces I would have went up on but not by much. You are correct about breaking the sets up though a lot of people are only looking for certain ones and don't want to buy the whole set just to get the one they want. I loved watching this great information included. Have a great day
Thank you for sharing your knowledge, Even tho I am 52, I am just getting into reselling. My mother and I were always vintage collectors, so we knew quality items, but I didn't know exactly what the prices were or how popular certain items are in today's market. For example, how you explained the gold rimmed dishes are hard to sell because everyone uses the microwave now, and that the 70's mushrooms, MCM, and brass are coming back in style. I just love all your informative videos!
Thank you so much for this super helpful information. I am doing some research into potentially reselling vintage and antique items online and videos like this are exactly what i need in my life right now!! I even enjoy collecting some different items that are vintage and antique items and so even as a buyer, this is super helpful indeed!! You seem to be super on the know and experienced and super trustworthy as well. Thanks again!!
I'm SO pleased to hear you say Blendo is a big deal right now. I've long been such a big fan and have found it so underappreciated! I love it so much, it's in my UA-cam banner and I own the pitcher depicted! ☺
I have that same antique rhinestone stretch bracelet (at 39:12) was inherited by my grandmother. Wonder the age & details, wasn’t mentioned on vid. What a great fun channel!!
This was fun. Thank you for sharing! I was trying to guess what you were going to say as far as price goes. I did a fairly good job, but I missed a few by a lot 😊
Everyone is learning a lot, and I'm glad this helps! Also, remember that though my opinion of value is educated, it is an opinion...there are no hard and fast rules, depends what you're selling, where and how, and how fast you need to move it
Hahaha what did you say,? “By the time they get to Florida, their polishing days are over!” So FUNNY! And TRUE!!! ❤
Oh yes, I don't polish my silver! If you use it daily, you don't have to polish
I appreciate that you aren't pre-buying the stuff. You have integrity. 🙂
Well thanks, honestly I have a lot of other options to buy, so why not leave it for the people who are awaiting the sale?
@@agomodern not going to bite on someone who obviously just wants to argue. Bye.
