I would place the little olive tree down in a larger pot. The pot looks so small for the tree. Also, maybe get two smaller square storage ottomans for the middle. You could easily pull them to the ends of the sofas when open area is needed. I love your taste and your values. Well done!
I was thinking the same! Pot is too small. Smaller ottomans can be moved for kid’s play. Everything looks great. Love the couch, cabinet, and rug.

The room looks great. I agree that the pot thevolive tree is in is too small. You can just put that small pot into something with more weight. A pot that is wider and gives the whole thing more weight.

It always surprises me how people don’t seem to enjoy being with their children. I love what a great mom you are. It’s the most fun to just do life with them. They genuinely want to help and they feel so proud when you thank them. Omg Cassian is growing too fast. That was an adorable clip!
I agree. Sometimes makes me wonder why some folks have children. 😮 Also fosters interest in the home and invests them with proprietorship, so they will be respectful of keeping it nice. The rug is a good size and kid friendly for its ' size and softness. I like your priorities. Keeping your sightlines is important. Children can get into danger in an instant. Also easy to see who really did what. 😂 Glad to watch this. Enjoy your new space. ❤❤

I believe that opening up the room in that manner allows for better visibility of the children. The red rug was particularly impressive; it taught us the art of layering colors. This is especially noticeable because the gray and brown tones are darker, and the red one conceals dirt more effectively making the room pop. In my opinion, the other two rugs seemed a bit too dark. Awesome living room reveal!!! Having a "pinterest vision" before going thirft store and facebook market shopping is a great idea!!!! Beautiful how the the mood in the living room is calm and peaceful!!! Especially, boys allowing them to feel they are apart of the renovation give them a purpose of being an important family member. It’s looking good. I think the ottoman helps tie the two couches together but I know how it is with husbands so good luck balancing that out. A cute basket pot would look better to put the plant in. Your little boy that helped you hang the baskets on the wall is ADORABLE! Good job!

I like the larger ottoman in the middle of the room. It allows storage for throws maybe even some toys at the end of the night and it will keep the little one from running through the room and knocking things over because there are obstacles he’ll have to work around, which will slow him down a little. Boys will be boys.

You remind me of my daughter that has the same knack for acquiring a beautiful look in a somewhat "minimalist" style...blending old and new. She has a toddler with another due in 2 weeks and although her son has an abundance of toys...they all have a unique home when not being played with. Loved all of your thrifts and how you incorporated them. I think the "coffee table/storage" is perfect and functional. Easy to slide out of the way when you want that space for playing...but also comfy and brings that space together. I remember always having a coffee table but padding the corners for safety...which I thought often looked tacky in my home. You won't have that issue...plus it looks great. I have to laugh when I see you move furniture alone because I remember my husband always saying "why didn't you wait for me to help you?" Don't mess with a woman determined to change a room around...we're on our own schedule...and I had to take advantage of sleeping babies...plus I'm impatient haha. What a beautiful transformation...inviting and great use of space. God Bless....

I like the other rug better because of the brown/ beige that matches other things in your living room instead of the bold gray that is exactly the color of your gray couch.

Great job! That olive tree in little pot, I have that exact olive tree. I think the pot looks too little tor the tree so I set mine in a bigger container and looks so much better. Just a tip.

It was a breath of fresh air that you started with what you're grateful for. I love the way your room turned out and that you involve your children in the process. They are learning so many good things from you. I think they ottoman looks fabulous and is a keeper and that the nice thing about it is that it can be slid off into a corner or beside the tv to block off an exit, etc., but the moment you need it, it's there to pull into place. Thank you for sharing your home and your thoughts about how to tackle decorating it along the way.

Last touch needed... a throw or pillow on the grey couch in a colour that matches/echoes the "orange" couch. Maybe salmon or burnt orange. This will tie the two together perfectly. Rebecca Robeson calls it "repeating a matter". lol :o)

So I am piggy backing onto a comment from someone else on their reply area. Your very lucky that beautiful cabinet came with the house. I believe your's is an Amish Torrent Mission style wardrobe and at a recent sale one in the same door style same top was for $1980. I love how you involve your children that goes very far in my book. I watch a woman often style her rooms and the children are trying to get her attention and she totally ignores them or reminds them that she is filming. 😢 Your blue and white plate is beautiful and looks like it may have been made in Budapest. I never give suggestions but a little hint, try your plate gallery to the left of your wardrobe. I think they would look super there.

Your styling is so realistic as we cannot always get all new things. I did wonder about the grey with the orangey brown leather but your other pieces pulled it all together. About the rug… the one you left rolled up and did not pick looked like it also had some brown mixed in and I would have liked it see it in the room. But I understand going for the soft plush one.

I can tell you that plate is definitely from Portugal. I was born there and can read and write. Bairro means “neighborhood” which is kind of like a town/village. There are so many I couldn’t figure our the name of the bairro. Also Paula Cristina is a very popular name from the 70’s. I know, not much information but just wanted to at least say that the tag on it was correct. It is gorgeous! Great job with your loving room!

Longaberger baskets are like beanie babies now- they were so expensive in the 90's supposed too hold value. They're now pretty cheap at thrift stores.

Hi! I just found your channel. Im only a few minutes in (so I don't know what you did with the cradle). You can use it to put plants in them. You can do this with bassinets also. Using real or faux plants. They look great.
