Hello Michael, thanks for sharing your point of view. I think we mention them regularly, especially in the end during the rundown and also in between, but we are not product pushers in the first place. We want to help men be stylish and find something they can wear for years to come. Of course, the best way to keep our videos sponsor free is to buy from our shop ;)
I feel like Raphael is the main person on youtube carrying on the wisdom of classical style of the last 300 years. It's not for everyone, but he keeps it alive.
Grey and yellow is a combo my grandfather swore by. He was old school and was wearing fedoras well into the 90s before his death, his favorite being an almost herringbone grey with a bold yellow band.
Excellent video as always. These color guide videos have been tremendously helpful. A video on wearing Purple or Lila would be much appreciated as well.
I like my informal yellow cotton/linen suit. It is a rather bold choice for a suit, I admit, but it's sort of in the general vein of my white linen suit. I can dress these suits up or down depending on the occasion, and they are great on warm weather cruises and trips.........I'm glad I didn't hold back from getting the yellow suit---it's been one of the most interesting suits I own to pair shirts and shoes with. My medium brown oxfords look nice with it. I also noticed fashion UA-camr Jacomet talking about his liking his relatively recently acquired yellow suit. I think it's all about getting the particular shade of yellow that's right for you, if you're going to get a yellow suit (mine is not too bright but seems to have very subtle undertones of hempy beige).
@@danbee415 yes, already wore it to a nice event this spring. Most folks seem to like it even though most guys wouldn't probably wear it themselves. But that's never stopped me, hahaha. Feels fresh and it's tailored well to my form --- with lighter suits, the tailoring is important because light colors display fit dramatically, in contrast to dark suits that sometimes seem to conceal imperfections.
Yellow is my favorite color!! I love this video. I would never wear a yellow suit.💛💛I love wearing yellow accessories.I enjoy watching your videos. I have learned so much from them.
Just invested in a medium yellow v-neck sweater and off white chinos trousers purchased at a resale shop the first time I wore this combination together I was complimented on how the attire look very well your video has provided me with additional ideas on how to incorporate other pieces of yellow accessories into my wardrobe thanks for a great video!
Frank Gadson wear a light blue shirt with the yellow v-neck sweater..along with your off-white trousers..even light grey will work well..but combine it with brown shoes..

I'm off to the theater at a venue that has a bar overlooking the sea, so as it's summer and I'll be wearing my lemon jacket with blue trousers and blue linen pocket square folded into one of the shapes from you previous videos.
What good timing! Today, I decided to wear a "gold" shirt with brown slacks and a brown, yellow, gold and black silk tie from J. Garcia. It's the most "yellow" ensemble I own!
I would wear the heck out of a nice pastel yellow linen suit! I've already got a red, white and sky blue linen suit, so something like that would fit into my summer wardrobe very nicely.
Wooooow Raphael!! I am so addicted to your videos. Anytime I watch them I am either looking online for these clothes or in the store. The great thing about me is that I shop all the time and off season in order to get great deals.
Sven, what about the coats? In previous videos you had shown yellowish grand, top and overcoats... to my opinion they are the most elegant especially when combined with navy trousers, scarfs, oxblood gloves....
Yellow is the opposite of purple on the color wheel. Each primary's opposite is the secondary color that is made up of the other two primary colors. Blue's opposite is orange.
@weehawk: correct. Buuuuut the yellow and blue Raphael is wearing really go well together. All the blues in these combos go more towards violet than they do green, which is the key. It's close to complementary and it works exceptionally well if it's weighted with a third color in the outfit.
Only one yellow shirt in my wardrobe and thats about it. Maybe some yellow in parts of some patterns but not too much. I go for other colors more often.
Do you think a medium grey double-breasted suit with black Chelsea boots, a grey macclesfield tie and a white pocket square would go with a light yellow shirt with double cuffs ?
YTLSF I suppose if you're going to do that(which I frankly wouldn't recommend) then it doesn't matter how you fold it since you can fold a pocket square pretty much any way you want to
It depends on how much money you wish to invest. Brooks Brothers in the US used to have a good line of shirts in both barrel cuffs and French cuffs. They are not cheap but, if you watch their web site, they do run sales from time to time.
Hello Raphael! First of all thanks for the great videos, they have been really educating! I would really like to see videos that complement the cigar guides on your website! Cheers
It really depends upon each individual man’s own personal style, but for the purposes of answering your question, I’m going to say that the answer is a resounding no. Although I have my own particular tastes and opinions about certain things (i.e. I’m someone who was born and raised in the state of North Carolina, yet I do not allow myself to wear pastels during the period of Halloween all the way up until St. Patrick’s Day, despite the fact that many other men in my native region tend to wear pastels year-round. I think that most menswear experts, such as Sven, would probably lean in favor of my personal rules on this as well.), a pair of classically styled tan/beige-colored khaki pants are simply too versatile to not be able to be worn year-round. They can be paired with virtually any color of shirt, shoes, or belt that you desire, with of course the major exception to that rule being the color of black. I hope that this helped……..😊.
Informative video, Sven. A question for you. Does any shades of yellow work with East-Asian (Chinese, Korean, etc.) given our skin tone is already yellowish? I consider myself to have a slightly warm but neutral undertone, relatively pale and high contrast with dark hair.
Mustard is AWESOME! Still looking for another pair of the right shade of mustard chinos...(I try to stay away from mango-it's not the same). Also...how do I say this...you have to be careful when wearing something yellow other than a tie, because you the idea is you want to look cool, not like a children's tv show host. The best way to do that is to combine the yellow with a darker color (dark brown, black, charcoal gray, or navy), in equal amounts to the yellow if possible or more. No need to go crazy with the patterns on the shirt or blazer, etc., because the yellow IS the statement. And definitely wear dark shoes. You know why Warren Beatty was able to pull off wearing that yellow trench coat and still look cool? He kept it simple-TWO MAIN COLORS (black and yellow) and one accessory color (the red tie). The white shirt doesn't count. Less is more
One thing that i admire from you Raphael, is that you dont try to sell us shit from sponsorships all the time, great video 👌

I think these sponsorship complaints ignorant.
Which is why he is the best! He has substance and integrity.
yeah like that, Alpha was cool, now their videos are the same theme over and over again, just changing some stuff, its a shame
By far the best menswear channel on UA-cam, so much knowledge on the subject. Thanks for uploading.

I would loved to have met him in his hat and had a cup of coffee with him. I bet he new a few things long forgotten.
Ever since i was a baby I always loved to wear yellow! I'll never stop

Bright yellow actually hurts my eyes but subdued yellows are quite beautiful. Yellow goes beautifully with brown because browns are a darker yellow.

I personally love yellow pocket squares, they are a lot of fun!
Thanks
Finally! I have been waiting for a new color pairing video. I'm sharing it with my Gentleman's Lifestyle group.
We appreciate the support! :)
What would you say about a brown, light blue, or white button and yellow stitching on the cuff of a navy suit jacket worn as a separate?

Yellow and purple goes great
Great video! I'd love to see a video on purple. Also, what are your opinions on wearing jumpers or cardigans with suits?
Sven, what about the coats? In previous videos you had shown yellowish grand, top and overcoats... to my opinion they are the most elegant especially when combined with navy trousers, scarfs, oxblood gloves....
I usually have yellow in my outfits, but now i have to try gloves because that is the only one I did not try yet . My favourite men's style channel !
Thank you!

Agreed. Yellow does pair well with purple and blue.
Purple's opposite is green

I would wear green with yellow but packers fans are the worst.😁🤣😂
yellow has to bw my favourite color.

Do you think a medium grey double-breasted suit with black Chelsea boots, a grey macclesfield tie and a white pocket square would go with a light yellow shirt with double cuffs ?
Can you please do a color guide for purple?
A yellow tie and/or pocket square are a simple way to extend your wardrobe, especially with navy or indigo blue.
Hello Sven, can you please make a video about brown/rust colors/

That is a gorgeous trench coat. Where did you get it? Love these color videos!

In the same vein as women not wearing white after Labor Day, is there a cut - off date for men wearing khaki’s or Chino’s?

Not Sven and I’m really late but try mustard dark yellow. If not dark, than use light yellows sparingly.
Good
Thank you for the great advice!

One day I will have a suit of every color.
what do you think of Dr Martens shoes?
