Man BMW killed it with these cars, those dynamics, 500hp on the rears through a manual transmission. The grill really isn't a priority when I think about these cars although I like them much more than sticking with an old design. Want the old design!? Get the old car lol. Hopefully a facelift will go even more in the direction of that beastly m4 grill on the gt3 car. And the content man! Been watching for a couple years and this is easily my favourite channel. Good stuff! I'm waiting to see what the next M2 is all about. I really wanted an M2CS but couldn't get an allocation for one. Now they're selling for $100k (instead of $83k MSRP)
So aside from a little extra umph, the non competition M3 still seems more engaging & fun to drive on back country roads. Add an air intake & exhaust - may improve the HP & TRQ. (I'm sure an aftermarket tune can make it even better). I certainly prefer manual over paddle ZF. Countries need to ban front license plates. Cars look so much better w/ out them!
For me, I lust for the “higher performance” of the auto/DCT/xdrive…. I also like auto for the track but driving around B roads, commuting to work with ramps, stops etc … the manual just adds a lot of enjoyment, engagement and a little drama (clutch down, blip, little skids etc!). I think I’m going to order the manual for that reason … more fun on the street and I like having it while I can
@@selespeed3 As a driver, I don't care whether my auto does the shifting in 12ms instead of my shifting in 100ms. Controlling the clutch, rev-matching, sometimes you fail and you just try again, it's like playing with the mecanism of the car. Autos such as dct is awesome for daily driving, for pure performance but I wouldn't choose one for my funny sunday car. As an amateur individual, I don't give a single fuck to milliseconds performance.
@@gagd7351 then you should just drive a simple slow bmw e30 manual. engaging is what you what. dom't try to do this in a g80 manual. it is pure silly. dont look for a manual in a modern car simply because you want engaging-only-manual-can-do thinking. i have a m3 dct e92 m3 and it is a lot better than my e30 manual. for a high powered car, i would not want a manual.
Cabin design is very nice overall, I would personally prefer a more interesting design for the manual gear shifter though. The gated R8 shifter was gorgeous.

Thing is doing a manual launch is hard to hold revs steady, but that launch aid does help wonders. That manual gearbox looks so nice to change gear, like the civic type R gearbox.
@@swansmeister I love driving in traffic jams in manual cars. That's the fun of having a manual. I don't think you know how to drive one, and are probably very girly
Are there mechanical differences between the manual and the competition? Are the turbos the same? Seems like it's only a software difference between the two? Grear chanel, keep up with the good work!
Dank u wel for posting this in English! Greetings from the US. Hope things are getting back to “normal” in NL. (I lived for a year in Bergen op Zoom, wish the best for my Dutch friends!)
Honestly as previous driver of many true M models, I almost always preferred the non-comp model. The comp is special no doubt but honestly the normal M is already sporty enough and more daily-able. This applies to all M cars whether sedan, coupe, SUVs. Test drive them back to back and you’ll know what I mean. Comp models will beat you up afterwards and you’ll regret it after buying it and driving it as a daily IF it is your only car.
I think with a simple tune the manual would be faster than the comp. Its the same engine. AND you don't have drivetrain loss through a torque converter like the comp.
Moral of the story. Time to put your melancholy to bed and get the comp monster. The days of manuals in these high performance cars with these torque numbers don't make sense anymore. Kudos to BMW for serving one last hurrah tho.
@@Xandersw1 I get what you mean but at this level of performance in a car I feel it's becoming hindering rather than "fun". Some people still enjoy that, I get it but on a pure performance level they are outmatched by these modern high end automatic gear boxes. Not to mention the convenience of everyday driving. It does feel like it's a shrinking minority hence why most manufacturers have phased manuals out.
how much torque does the manual in the M3 hold up to? I imagine a stage 1 manual M3 to be the total package. Nonetheless, even with less performance I´d take the "normal" M3 manual over the Comp. in a heartbeat!
@@swansmeister why stupid, is the same engine, same exact engine. If anything the S58 in the base is detuned, both should perform the same. The only difference is the transmission.

BMW Super REVIEW Bro, i love M3 MANUAL
Love this duo setup! It just works. Also, those kind of drag race on autobahn are insane and entertaining, meaning funny.
Finally! Gotta say, both of these is total beast mode! Enjoy it m8 you are lucky to get one before the EV fully taking control

Absolutely! With the manual you are driving WITH the car whereas with the auto you're just driving the car.
that is old fashioned thinking. auto today is so much better and just as "engaging" as a manual., shifts much faster.

Thanks for the great video. It’s really making me want to go competition. Do you think the power difference outweighs the fact of loosing a manual?
