What's more impressive is cars without complicated engines, oil leak issues, spark plugs issues, timing belt problems etc can leave both of these cars in dust without modifying and buying a drop of fuel. 😂
I have a fast BMW diesel which does 250+km/h but is also very fuel economical. Can drive 1250km on one tank no problem. Except for some Tesla's, I out accelerate about all electric vehicles on the road. BMW's these days are seriously rockets on the road.

335i and the newer 340 has always been absolute beasts and known for great performance / euro. Had a 335i n54 with a stage 1 from jb4 and a full system from m performance, had around 400 crank and that shit blew m3 e90s out of the water.
Next year - after leaving the warranty period - the 1st thing is to send the DME to FemTo to unlock it. Then MHD Stage 2 can come... But you've forgot to tell in your vid, that it's recommended to change the downpipe to a 200 or 300 cell version (which I did - HJS DP) at Stage 2. I also changed the oilcooler to one from Wagner tuning to not having problems on the race track temperaturwise. And one optical tip (and maybe it's also a good idea for high speed runs) to Martijn: please assemble the M-Performance real wing - it looks amazing!
Having been fortunate to have owned the 340i Tourer and now The M3 Tourer. The M3 always brings a smile to my face & I have never had so many 👍, 😮, 👀,😊 or people coming up and asking me about it as I have with this car. Love the content AutoTopNL ❤
Absolutely agree on the new ID8 display. It looks cheap. Just another way for BMW to cut costs under the BS premise that its being innovative. I have the 2022 M240i and very happy I got it before they introduced this Frankenstein display. The all touch infotainment controller backfired on the new Golf R and VAG is already making changes as they realized everyone hated it.
BMW did such a great job with the styling of the m340. they could have done a lot better with the m3. although im kind of getting used to the big grilles. they look ok on the touring
The front bumper on the m3 can now be replaced with a aftermarket ADRO kit which easily makes the front end looking 10x more aggressive compared to stock. Only downside is that the upgrade requires additional 3-4k.
Wow, that does look very, very good. Reminds me a bit of that limited production BMW 3.0 CSL front end, which I always felt was what the M3/M4 should have been like. I assume it doesn't affect the cooling? I heard a BMW engineer explain at some point that they had to do those huge nostrils on the M3/M4 because they couldn't get enough cooling intake through that traditional kidney grille openings. I see that ADRO kit has a bit smaller grille openings than stock but not by all that much, so I assume it's fine?

But, even without those options, the M340i is still a lot cheaper. Best of both worlds: Alpina B3 Touring with the S58 engine…? Please do the same test with a M3 Touring vs an Alpina B3 Touring!

A family estate car with a fairly mild tune can do nearly 200 mph now. Wow. I had a f22 m240i with MHD and I knew it would do good numbers but never tried obviously in the UK. The B58 is an absolute masterpiece
Glad I’m not only one who hates those gauge graphics, it’s an absolute disaster, and even worse in a manual rev’ing car out on a triangle rev counter. Even the monotone nav display in cluster is just a weird design decision. I’d love to do a b3 touring build but having to look at that cluster is the barrier to entry
BMW charges a lot more for M3 for what is so little difference against a tuned M340i. Also, I don't like the fake air vents in the front guards- why put them there when serving no function and detract from the smooth lines? Most obvious interior change is the piped engine noise which is absolutely terrible.
Do you guys only sell parts or have a garage as well to tune the cars up? i got a m340i and would love to get it tuned, but would rather do by people who know what they are doing

Strong V6 engines..but when you said about an RS4 stock which is clearly underpowered from Audi...please take a Stage 3 S4/5 with TTE turbines even without meth you will surely understand the potential of EA839 engines which is similar to S58!! Both V6 engines = High potential - piece of art!
I had an 330e with the Idrive 7 and that was the best OS in any car I have ever driven… disappointed that BMW is going down the wrong path a long side Audi and Mercedes.

I always find it amazing how the M-Lites can stick with the ///M’s in a straight line.
Only when tuned.. So not really a fair comparison.. You can also tune the M to make it faster again..

You should compare these to the old F31 340i touring. It’s my all-time favourite 3 series.

@BlueBull696 indeed and I believe the side vents on the ADRO kit are slightly larger than stock which improves the cooling so it's like evens out.
