One of the people who went to the conference mentioned how he had a cataleptic attack on the beach, and ended up in the water and just let the waves go over him. He accepted the fact that he might drown. No one knew that he where he was until a lifeguard saw him face down in the sand. That story really gives me goose bumps.

(It didn’t do more than smoke and I was already warned by the parents that he was going through a pyro phase so we were all ready for anything he tried) I loved babysitting though. Used to have 12 kids in one large house and it was so easy... hide and seek and they all went running!

Once, I was babysitting this 4 year old girl. It was getting late, and after a some debate, I told her she needed to go to bed. She expressed a lot of resistance like you would expect and said she couldn't sleep. Trying to figure out if there was a final demand before she went to bed like a story or one more episode of TV, I asked her why she couldn't sleep. She simply responded, "Because of the woman in my closet." I got one of the biggest chills of my life. It took me admittedly five minutes to work up the courage to look around her room and closet (that was only after making a clear escape route to the front door incase there actually was a woman). Luckily, there was no one in her room, and she was confused as to why I was scanning her room. It was like she had forgotten she said it. When it's pitch black outside and you know the parents are going to be gone until 12 AM, you take every little creepy feeling seriously. Kids say the creepiest things sometimes.
I do not know why people who post these stories on Reddit use the most unusual form of “storytelling grammar”. There’s a bit of it in this comment. 👆🏻 it always makes me believe the stories are extremely fabricated and just a tale... by a story-teller. And. I hate that.

It did happen; though I understand why everyone takes anything they read on the internet with a heap of salt.
That last story definitely got me. “I realized she was using me for practice” had me shook. She was essentially practicing murdering him then chilling and watching tv with him afterwards like it was totally normal.
The story about the austere cowboy like fellow? If anyone here has read The Gift of Fear by Gavin de Becker, they'll know why the two folk were so peacefully calm in that situation. Your brain knows exactly what it's doing, your survival instinct is more on point than you will ever know, and for those two? Their survival instinct kicked in and took over the helm, said what needed to be said, remained perfectly calm and affable. No drama or hysterics, no screaming, just all good stuff and nothing bad here. Trust your gut instinct, people. It will keep you alive :D

@@welcome2myhappyworld i think it was the grim reaper warning them about the serial killer. it wouldnt make sense for the killer themselves to warn them or pull something so ridiculously incriminating, and what was said clearly implies someone would die that night. but the serial killer ghost theory could work too. maybe the ghost is reliving or repeating something he did in the past? looking into the history of the house could reveal some answers. maybe the killer warned a previous occupant once in life because it was a person they cared about?
