2.55. Thank you for this video! I am a 74 year old grandma and I can’t wait to install my replacement radio/cd player which should arrive today! Your video was detailed and clear. Wish me luck!
Hey. This was great. Thanks for walking through each step with what to expect, and which tool to use. I watched another video on this topic that was ~2 minutes long. It did not have any where near as much info or detail. Planning on doing this this week. Thanks for the great video!
I'm I the only one who saw him yes the long screwdriver first..and when it wouldn't cone off the first time. then he change and said take te clock out first the use the small screwdriver cause the big wouldn't fit.
Ha, exactly. I thought he was going to put in some cool SOTA android auto unit or something. My accord's stereo had its CD player die a while back so I want to replace the whole unit, if I go to that trouble I'm not going to put in a 20 year old stereo. Where would you even find this radio now? I doubt Sony makes this model from so far back.
@@beeman10power same here man. have a '99 civic, when I bought it two years ago it had an aftermarket bluetooth unit; I put in the factory CD/radio unit AND the original casette player accessory (I can play songs from my phone using a $5 casette adapter that never breaks); found both at a junkyard for like $10 each. sometimes it's all about that original look, ya feel me. the aftermarket didn't fit the clean 90's interior look ;) granted, I also consider myself a purist. no hate, just thought some of y'all would like to understand the reasoning behind this kind of stuff
This may be a dumb question so pardon my inexperienced. My 2000 Accord EX V6 came with the radio that only has the CD player. Will the radio with the CD AND cassette player fit in there too? If not, is there one from maybe a Civic or a TL that will work? Also, will I need a different radio code if I disconnect the battery and install a different radio?
yeah, the refreshed one (2001-2002 accords) will fit in there too. you will need the security code; just look at the serial number on the sticker and call your honda dealership's service department and they can look it up for you. message me if you have any questions I've done this many times lol
One trick to prevent the screws from falling after you unscrew them is to buy a magnetized screw driver or drill bit. The screws will stick to the screw driver and will not fall off and get lost. 😀
Next time you do a tutorial, make sure you learn how to take a bezel off before you start recording. You clearly changed your whole approach on how to remove it. Hadn't you caught yourself, you would've taught everyone how to break their bezel and although it really doesn't harm anything afterward, the sole thought of knowing something is broken bothers me and anyone else who takes pride in their work. You could've edited the video before posting it too. I've been taking this particular model apart for years now and I've never broken a bezel or any piece of interior trim for that matter.
there really is a lot of bad information out there, i think the guy meant well but this tutorial was done backwards. and youre right if something is broken at least for me , it bothers me to know its broken even if it doesnt affect anything.
B-b-but how do you enter the radio code once you get the code from the dealer? Would disconnecting the negative battery cable stop you from having to call the dealer and get the radio code? Do I need to get a radio code if I'm replacing the factory radio with a different stereo, like a Pioneer or JVC?
+Jose Rivera Aftermarket stereos include wire harnesses for car manufactured make or model and stereo make and model plastic trim that goes around the stereo to fit the voided spaces. My 1999 Honda accord has no r.c.a. to amp hookup, fairly expensive to upgrade to what I want. The answer to this your question is no.
Go to Crutchfield.com, they're awesome and make life easy. Cheek out their site and you'll see. I just built a small system in an 00' civic hatch. They give you everything that you need from instructions to pre wired harnesses. I know this sounds crazy but I spent less than $200 and the system thumps like a $1,000 system. I'm going to do the same to my 01 accord.
The original owner probably replaced the stereo with a new stereo deck and then changed it back to the old one when they sold it so they could keep their after market stereo deck
This is video is wrong because anyone that does watch this video is goin to a install a newer radio that needs a new harness whoever watches video will not be helped if they need to install a new radio
Your kidding right? You tokk the bottom screws out, realized you missed one behind the hazard light and instead of cutting that vid clip out, you kept it in and out the screws back in and then changed screwdrivers after using the long one and then pulled the top screw out 🤦🏻🤦🏻🤦🏻 nice

I'm a 94 year old grandpa and I can't wait to install my limited edition subwoofers and crank that shit up for my homies!!!

lol i noticed the same thing haha
You are definitely NOT the only one that saw that stumble. Regardless, the man created something useful.
Who takes their stock radio out to put in another stock radio 😂😂😂
Idk maybe a tutorial about to to take out an install a radio

Purists in Germany would buy used BMW and go to get the original radio. Here the manufacturers made us belive oem or bicycle....
I DO! Replaced my Broken Cassette player with another that works GREAT! "OLDE SKOOL", can youz dig it!! ...Payce.

The link in the description really helps
How would you recommend getting the inside screws out of they’re stripped?
Did I ever find a way??
great video. appreciate the simplicity you demonstrate.
thank you
Do you know how to get the static sounds off the 2000 honda accord radio? thanks
You ask a question and get a thumbs up.....classic.......👍💔

Thank you very much for making this video. It is really helpful.
How do you get the bottom screws out? they just turn and squeak.
pry it with the flathead at the same time as turning it
THIS HELPS! Thank you so much for this video!
Hi, I want to replace a bulb for my seat heating switch for honda accord 1999 EX-L. Please let me know how to open the assembly.
If the radio I am installing is only half the size of the original will it cause issues? Will there just be a big hole where it used to be?
They sell after market kits for aftermarket stereos like at walmart they are a about 15 bucks.

Would this radio work in a 2000 honda civic sedan?

Did you get the answer if you need the code when you replacing aftermarket radio?
@@DavidHernandez-ue4fz why would an entirely different radio need a code?
your the man, smooth, you thought of everything ,
What are the dimensions of the old radio?
Who puts the same radio back in!
😂
my cassete player just stopped working it rejects every cassete tape. is it anyway to fix it
Would this be the same thing for an after market radio ?

Why didnt he plug in the new stereo wire harnesses before putting back together???
wait what do you mean i have to call the dealer to get a code?
Anyone know if the radio code is on the radio of a 2002 honda accord? I don't want to pull it out for nothing.
the thing l don't understand is, who worked on this car previously and then left the old stereo in? what the hell were they trying to do?
new question... why are you replacing a stock stereo with a stock stereo?
Electronics For Fun lmfao
The original owner probably replaced the stereo with a new stereo deck and then changed it back to the old one when they sold it so they could keep their after market stereo deck
Cause it's cheaper and i don't want any problems with fancy bluetooth crap i dont need
There were some models with only a single din tape deck instead of the CD changer shown in the video
I have got CDs stuck in the 6-CD changer of the stereo system. The system fails to load the CDs when I start my car.
unebonnevie mine too. Hopefully replacing it will work
Thank you so much for this...
Great step by step instructions. I think even I could do this. What are some of the questions the Honda dealer will ask?
mine has an Anti Theft light on it will that do anything?
What is the size?
At 1:42 he coulda almost knocked himself out haha I’m kidding
I bought my stero from a junkyard so how do i get the code if it came from a different car
Call Honda give serial number on radio from what I've heard
Thank you so much for the tutorial!
The missing screws on your car are a hassle to take of on my car smh I'm afraid of stripping them
I had to use a 8mm socket to open it, was much easier than using a regular screw driver. 👍🏼
awesome. well worth the watch, it helped alot!
sir... you are a genius 😯
Panel poppers are so much better.....
Dude my shit is like stuck on there.. it doesnt even come off I can leave the screws off and it wont come off .. wtf
Honda city 2002 stereo replacement video
Hey man I need some Honda help comment back if you can !
Why is there a recycle sign
Trim wont come off...

Well done. Than you

My car won't start after installation, and outside lights keep flashing. What's wrong?
Did you leave the hazard lights on and drained the battery?
Anti theft system
Clock should be removed FIRST!!!
Bruh, this video sucks. Popped the clock out and broke a clip. Thx a lot.
He fucked up😂😂😂😂
