Hey mate, just wanted to say thank you for this video. This was one of the most helpful videos for me. I just got the Pint yesterday and was getting pretty disheartened by my progress but watched this video and it really helped me out. Got practicing today and started to feel that groove (still a bit awks on it) but your tips on foot placement etc really helped a lot!
Disagree with the learning on grass vs. concrete, but I do agree that loose ankles is very important. I’m pretty good with turns now but still need to learn to carve.
5:14 is something that happens to me every time I step on my board without looking at the lightbar XD, 0mph nosedive is a perfect term for that! Love your videos and keep it up! 2:27 is SOOOOO true! LOL ppl have no patience at all when I teach them how to properly dismount, but it is actually the hardest part and the most dangerous part of riding the Onewheel, it is not easy to fight against your instinct to leave your front foot on the board at the first place, let alone lack of understanding of how this thing actually works, even I did couple splits when I first riding the Pint with a full understanding of how I was supposed to dismount.
Hey dude! Thanks for the feedback! Glad you like the videos. Don't forget to enter the giveaway! It runs until Friday, November 6, 2020. Thanks for watching!
Most interesting starting vidéo I've seen so far. I just started and I can step on the pint easily and keep it still. But my feet keep trembling "toe heel toe heel". Shouldn't I deflate the tyre a bit ? The flat part is not so flat, more like a " ) " so if I could concentrate on forward-back and not "belly-butt"... 🙄
Hey, congrats on your new OW. I'd say that you need to concentrate on relaxing your ankles. I find that when people get wobbles, it's because they're a little too stiff. Good luck!
I adopted the bunny hop dismount as my emergency exit plan, and decided to only use that method so that in an emergency I don't hesitate or try any single foot exits. (6mo/400mi + Pint owner)
yeah, pretty much the same for me. I default to the skidding stop dismount, but in a real emergency, my muscle memory kicks in and I jump off. Thanks for watching!
I'm saving up to get the pint, as soon as I stepped on my friends one wheel I was hooked and it's all I can think about. Also I think I was your 100th sub :o
I just got a One Wheel GT for my 70th Birthday!... yeah, I said 70 not 17!!...never even had a skateboard before!! My wife got it for me... didn't mention anything about Life Insurance..LOL!!
Hey! Thanks for the comment. The reason I don’t recommend Redwood is because pushback starts to happen at around 10-12mph, which is too early in my opinion and gets annoying really fast. Hope that helps. Thanks for watching!
@@MattYamamoto100 Super helpful, thanks for explaining. I'm in NY so I'm just riding inside my apartment while the weather is crappy, so if I'm probably in trouble if i hit pushback indoors in my 1 BR lol. I'll try your suggestion when I get back out on the road.
Around 5:24, did you intend to go backward, or did it just kick you that way? I have a new one, and I’m having that problem. Even when I roll up slowly, it feels like it wants to roll in the opposite direction and keep going (not like a stopping feature). I know it’s facing the right direction.

Lol I started on grass in case I fell .. softer landing ... but in 15 mins I was able to ride and turn without falling... now I just have to ride without the wobble lol
lol. A lot of people do that. More people though fail to jump off with two feet...even if I just told them not to. haha. The wobbles will go away eventually. Be sure the stay relaxed...especially in your knees and ankles. Thanks for watching!
Ok got the wobbles taken care up for the most part.. it’s all about foot placement.. but my ankles rotate a lot when I go over cracks in payment or sidewalk..

I have pint in the mail. Should I buy flat shoes for riding or will my running shoes be ok?
I'm new to riding any kind of board
Awesome! I’ve seen people using running shoes, but I would buy something like Vans tbh....especially if you have high arches
Crystal clear thx mate
