I agree that it looks better with a 40mm f/2.5, but despite that, 90% of the time I still use a 20-70 2.8 or even 70-200 2.8 lolol.

I detest the fact that i have to edit anything in post. Why cant they make a camera that takes excellent shots right out of camera. It is ridiculous.

The feel and operation isn't even remotely familiar. The image quality from that 40 can't touch the summilux-- and you'd need to accent it with something like a Voigtlander prime to match both the image quality and the AF + manual without focus by wire. All in all, it's nothing like the Q. I owned both at once for a minute when I was switching systems. They're both totally awesome super capable cameras, but almost nothing alike.

I like 35mm focal length more than 40mm, so last year (2023) I got a used Sony Carl Zeiss Sonnar 35mm 2.8 T* ZA used for US $215 (taxes included) in excellent condition, it is more light Weight and more compact than those 40mm lenses ! I would like to have an AF/MF button and a aperture ring, but you cannot always get it all.

I have to admit i fell for the Leica buzz and bought a Q3…sold other older cameras to get it. While i enjoyed it, it was nothing special. Additionally the small amount of video i took with it was filled with rolling shutter effects. The autofocus is not all that good and even though there is a softness to the photos i enjoyed, but overall, was not worth keeping. I have sold it and am purchasing the a7cr (i have an A7iv that i use for more “professional” work and think its baby sibling will work well. And since i already own the 24G and 40G i think my kit will be complete. And my bank account will be several thousand dollars to the good.

Everytime I quik stop the onewheel does a little burn out and skwaks, sometimes scaring people any suggetions?

my travel/vacation setup is ths 40mm 2.5 with the A7CR it’s certainly not perfect but probably best compromise for me as far as compactness and performance with Sony gears great review

I love my Q2 Reporter, but I'm selling it and replacing it with an A7CR. Originally I was going to go with the 24mm GM (and tbh, I still snagged it because it's an amazing lens), but this video has convinced me to get the 40mm 2.5 + that hood for every day carry since I absolutely love the Q2 aesthetic and have zero concerns about poser status. I went Gordy's for the strap though, since i prefer the thin and light approach.

yea the buckle is a major turn off.. especially the quick release one. i rather thy switch it for a conventional type.. you'd really feel the buckle when wearing thin clothings during summer.

Sony A7iii, although slightly larger and heavier, has a far better sensor. Shooting at high ISO is virtually unbeatable. Forget autofocus for street photography, get light and small Voightlander lens, or a cheaper option one, Ttartisans or Light Lens Lab, 23, 28, 35 or 50mm, your choice. The lenses are small if you pick the right ones, the weight between your option and what I have suggested will come to near enough the same as camera and lens combination. I am writing this having given this very thing a lot of time.

You go out shooting at night and you don't have any ammo in your bag? I carry on body but I carry extra rounds in my sling too. No concealed carry options on this either . . .

may be itys my fault for believing in too much in youtubers ..but peak design sling is shit , yeah it has better build quality ..but it does not have any space inside ..it very uncomformatble to put in and out a camera with zoom lens attached
