Just had the same thing happen with mine same problem. Looked at the manual and it said water got in the overflow detector under the machine. Too cover off there was water in there drained the water out. Machine runs fine now. Had opened the door earlier to reposition something and evidently water spilled pass the door and got caught up in the tray.
Thanks for sharing this. Turned out to be my issue too and was an easy fix. Much appreciated!
How did you fix ?
Thank you very much (Henry Hughes) for this very helpful tip! We were struggling to find out why our dishwasher would not reset (due to adding liquid dishwasher soap - big NO NO!) and your tip to remove the overflow tray and empty worked! I searched the manual but did not find the answer so thanks again. You saved us a costly visit from the repair team.
Thanks the same just happened to mine and your suggestion fixed it!
I just want you to know this comment was more helpful than any video or Google search I did this morning. Thanks!!!
This is wrong - you need to remove the drip drain from the bottom and dry it out. You must have accidentally used dish shop or left some on a plate hence the over flow.
There is a small plastic cover (black) that is fashioned with two sockets on each side remove the sockets thus removing the black plastic cover. Once removed you will see a plastic tray (white) sitting along the bottom of the washing machine. On each side of that white plastic tray, there are plastic clips that you can manually pull out with your fingers thus removing the tray. Once removed, there is a white plastic cylinder that sits in the middle of that tray. This is also clamped down on each side with plastic clips. Once removed, the entire tray at the bottom will be free and you can dump the liquid that is in the overflow tray. When it’s completely dry, fasten everything back together as you found it and the code will go away and your dishwasher will work fine.. also make sure you turn the breaker off before doing anything.
Thank you! I followed your directions and it worked! My daughter put Dawn in the dishwasher - we've all had the thought just a tiny bit will be ok! Now working on getting all the suds out. Thanks again!
THANK YOU SO SO SO MUCH!!! After a solid day of beeping and trying literally every fix I could find, including actually calling the company to see if they could fix it, in an attempt to take one last knack at retrieving my sanity, I decided to search UA-cam. And low and behold I find your comment. You have no IDEA how grateful I am to you for this comment!!! My drip drain was FULL. We are a bit puzzled tho, bc we absolutely have NOT used dawn (have actually been out of it for a few days) in the dishwasher, so we aren’t sure what it could be or what to do to prevent this from happening again.
Oh well, at least I’ll know how to fix it next time!! Thanks again!!
Brilliant! Thank you so much for taking your time to explain how to fix this issue! We are grateful!!
Sooo helpful! Thank you so much!
It worked 🎉
My water supply was loose and leaking water into overflow tray. Drained the tray and tightened up water line fitting and we were running again. I had code 84. Count the flashes. first set is the first digit. A pause and a second set of flashes is the second digit.
If I ever meet a kitchen aid employee so help me god
I cannot find the drip tray.
Can anyone tell me if it can be difficult to access
first cancel the beeping song them press and hold 2-4-8 hs delay botton, in to the light be on the same time press and hold the cancel botton in to the light turn off. you can use your machine with no more problem.
