Is this supposed to have a bottom spray blade? I just bought and installed one of these and there's no spinning sprayer below the bottom rack. That's not right, right?
With top control - are you able to reach in under your counter top when the door is closed? We often will be running a cycle and then someone needs to take a shower and with our house you need to make sure the dishwasher or the washing machine are not running. So just curious if you can reach the panel to turn off. My counter top is the older fiberboard and comes down over the edge of the cabinets.
I bought this unit just because of the 3rd rack. I had 8 year old washer from ge so this definitely Going to be quiet.
Does this KDTM404KPS model require that you also install an air gap on your counter for this dishwasher to work properly? I've heard that you do need an air gap, but have also heard that you do not.

I still can’t understand the various wash cycles and how long they last. If I use Express Wash, can I also use the heated dry? Why are the cycles so long compared to my old KitchenAid?

PURCHASED NEW IN MAY 2021 MIDDLE SPRAY ARM FELL OFF, CAN'T BE REATTACHED, CAN'T FINE PART TO REPLACE.

2 huge elephants in the room in this video are that
1. In the Kitchenaid, food is constantly getting stuck in the water jet systems and the water pressure is weak (adding to the quietness of the machine). Not only do you have to thoroughly clean the dishes before you use the Kitchenaid, you have to remove the arms and physically clean them out after each wash (this is after having thoroughly cleaned the dishes, which is a huge pain and time consumer. Notice how he didn't show any dirty plates being loaded and cleaned? Cleaning the bottom arms are a pain but they do at least remove from the central turner. The top arms are all part of one piece. It's a crap shoot whether or not the food will come out of those. We didn't have the 3rd wrack system, so we had to use the basket for tableware. Our normal sized knives would block the arms from turning, so we had to load all of them on the far end of the basket.
2. It vents on the side and will warp and destroy your cabinets, which it has done to ours. Still trying to figure out how to proceed with this one.
We now have a Siemens (fyi, Bosch, Siemens and Constructa are all the exact same machines, just with different branding) and this machine is a workhorse and does the job. We never have a problem with food getting stuck in the jets and the clearance is not a problem for normal size table ware. It also vents through the top. The Kitchenaid is quiet, much quieter than our Siemens and that's the only thing it's got going for it. Don't buy the Kitchenaid. It's a joke.

Which Siemens do you have?
Why are there particles of food on your dishes when you load them? We always wipe everything clean of chunks and we have had no problems with KitchenAid.

Why on earth is there background music when we are trying to listen???
You can still hear him very clearly! We made sure the music was low so he's audible.
I have this dishwasher and have to say it holds nothing on the bottom or middle rack since the third rack, (useless) made the other two racks very shallow. It will not hold normal pots or pans on the bottom rack from an evening meal for a a family of 4. It will not hold cookie sheets or large serving bowls because middle rack (raised all the way up) is so close to the bottom rack the water arm won’t turn!!. The flip down tines on the middle rack have never stayed in place and fall out of the clip in every cycle. There are only 2 stemware holders so if you serve wine to company at dinner you have to hand wash the stemware since they don’t stand up anywhere on the middle rack because the third shelf is in the way! I’ve had Kitchen Aid dishwashers for 50 years and this is hands down the worst designed one ever made!
Worst dishwasher ever I spent 1300 dollars on it and it lasted 36 days in my house and now I'm stuck with a broken appliance for the next month do not buy
