I am having so much fun looking through these sidebars. Judge A is just cracking me up. 2 favorite quotes are "I'll sustain this objection all day long, every day." (Day 17). And "You can't put 'what, if any' in front of a whole statement and say you're directing her directly to that. There are ways to ask the question. You just can't ask in those ways."

Favorite trial quote was related to the “What if any.” Problem.
Judge: “what if any isn’t a bandaid, it won’t solve everything”
Elaine, a minute later: “and yes what if anything does solve everything.”
Haven’t had a chance to look at the sidebars myself but I wanna know if she was admonished for arguing like that in open court

@@wheresmyparade It's not a jump. It says at the top of the transcript that it was the morning of day 15 when the PR guy stuff happened. Dawn Huge's cross was also day 15. We went back on the stand as soon as court began for the morning.

All this time it looked like Elaine was flustered and didn't know what she was doing, but those sidebars clearly show that she knew exactly what she was doing and tried to sneek a lot of things into the trial they weren't supposed to. They played hella dirty!

Up to a certain point in the trial, I tried to give her grace because I knew she didn't often do trials. I got to the point of "nah this is just slimy" when Hughes took the stand, and very quickly had no patience left. But seeing the sidebars is mind boggling so just how weasley she was

But especially the interviews Elaine gave after the trial was over, showed that she isn't a nice human being herself. Her behavior after the trial and now during these sidebars really makes me wonder how she became a well established lawyer in the first place. Her behavior and the many mistakes she made during and after this trial are very unprofessional. I just don't get it.

Even thinking of her name sometimes brings tears to my eyes she has been gone 3 years this summer.. Tearing up as we speak. The other dog was put down as well this past February. My mom brought him, it felt cruel to keep him alive anymore. He has a huge tumor in his side that just kept growing, open wounds that wouldn't close, he had to eat his food a certain way so he wouldn't throw up, and so on. I I think the reason AH kept testifying about what JD might be thinking or whatever is because her goal was to make him look as bad as possible. Also, it’s possible she did things like recording him when drunk because she wanted to humiliate him, not out of concern that he wouldn’t remember.

    • @vxfusion6975
      @vxfusion6975 Рік тому +13

Typically, but not always. Abusers will [in a mental context] try to show how they know what's /best/ for the person they're abusing. So when she's trying to explain what JD was thinking, it was just showing that she thought she knew JD better than JD knew JD. Which ties into the 'I know what's best for you'. The other part of it is. She took the pictures and recordings to spin them in a way that makes JD look like he's in need of help. Which, while he might have been, it wasn't from what he was already going through. It was her help. JD's side of the argument is that she is using the pictures to make him look like a drunk, drug addled abuser because of the stereotype. Whereas, in reality. The abuse was from her, because she was trying to manipulate the narrative and gaslight him slowly.

Good lord, that morning sidebar went so bad for Heard's team.Someone being disrespectful to the officers of the court, someone violating a judge's order, a witness being shady on the stand, and teh lawyer herself suggesting that her witness' testimony is going to get into some shaky legal grounds. This trial just keeps on giving, doesn't it?
Edit: thanks for the 'control+F myself' drama immediately after.

The most annoying parts of their documentary (NETFLIX) to me are:
1: They still refuse to understand that it was a DEFAMATION case not a domestic violence case (which we all agree that deppVheard relationship was a case of mutual abuse) but amber heard claimed to be the ultimate victim hence THE LIE
2: They called Johnny depp's stans bots but you see clips after clips of the masses (humans with thinking faculties) giving their relative, realistic and practical opinions
3: They refused to use any clup of any youtuber/lawtube giving legal breakdowns but they used clips of their reactions and quirks
4: they claim it was a money making venture to "bandwagon" amber heard for content creators when the same can be argued for the pro Heard side too
5: No actual evidence disclaiming everything amber heard claimed was used but they used clips of johnny depp's "mega pint" (Netflix actually brought out court document that Johnny depp called it mega pint first at the Uk hearing) and drug abuse
    confession...
CONCLUSION: MSM STILL CALLING US DUMB AND INCAPABLE OF ASSESSING RIGHT FROM WRONG

I feel there should be some minor punishment for lawyers that go too far with these antics but not actually break the ethic rules or do something criminal. Something like driver points. Three strikes and you're suspended for a month or so.

It wasn't incompetence, she played dumb when it suited her.
And it suited her more often than not.
Depp's team even said her reputation preceeded her, that she plays dirty and tried to get around rules of court.

From what I’ve seen of the Netflix show, it seems like they’re making amber heard the victim. I’ve only just begun to watch it so maybe that’ll change. But it just seems like it’s a “oh look at all these supporters for Johnny bullying amber and poor amber this” it seems like some metoo narrative. When clearly amber was the aggressor.

I still disagree wholeheartedly and believe the fact that she was arrested for DV is absolutely something that should have been allowed in court! It absolutely relates to her being an abused before.

I'm SO upset about the news about BLINDSIDE!!! I'll bet Sandra Bullock is fairly pissed, too, but she's going thru so much having lost her beau of what, 8 yrs, & is seriously heartbroken!! I'm fairly heartbroken about what I believe the Tuohy family did to Ohr!! Anyway, there's much ado about how Ohr didn't miss the $, he's still doing ok, but that's seriously not the point!!! The Tuohys HAD $, didn't need his, & if everything was hunky dory, then why why why didn't they report as they were supposed to. Ohr didn't even know about that shite till this past Feb, '23, & Tim them had no clue he hadn't been adopted!! I can tell you from experience, it makes no difference when you learn of an adoption or lack thereof, massive ants of betrayal are the end result!!
I just checked to ensure I'm to be receiving the notification and just realized I'VE NEVER EVER GOTTEN A SINGLE NOTIFICATION FROM YOUR CHANNEL!!! Ugh!
Ick! I can't eat or drink pumpkin spice ANYTHING!!! I love pumpkin rolls... wholeheartedly addicted but pumpkin spice added? Not so much!!
Is the live chat for members only? I've no access so... obviously not but I've no access for some bizarre reason.
I've heard Elaine & Judge A were friends prior to this. Wonder if they still are? Elaine does NOT appear to be a good atty! I've heard she did well in settlement matters & now I think the trains are due to Elaine being SO constantly out of sorts, annoying, & basically drives people nuts!!!

Imagine you’re watching Depp v Heard in real time while simultaneously involved in a separate legal case where Elaine is one of the attorneys. If she was my attorney I’d be SO worried about her competence. If she was an opposing attorney I’d suddenly have a ton of confidence in my case.

After listening to EDB analyze these sidebars I am left wondering, how many future courses in criminal law will be using Amber Heard's legal team (I am trying to avoid singling any one out🙄) as examples of what not to do during a criminal trial? Actually an even more fascinating mind game or lesson would be to present this to the law class: reverse the legal teams, same judge, same plaintiff, same defendant and same jury, now retry this case, present the verdict. I would love to read those student papers.

Amber Heard is why these rules are in place. You can't say what you told other people. Thats all Amber had because these events she was telling to others didn't happen. Amber wrote directed and acted in the movie Johnny Depp Abused Me and the movie was not admissible in court.

@@amberevolexactly I think she has played the ditsy woman attorney (and now older grandma attorney who doesn’t understand tech) for a while when she is in court, always so surprised there were rules and please tell me what to do your honor. In the south with some male judges that might have played to her advantage. Now it’s just stupid to watch streamed to a whole audience. But it’s def trying to sneak as much in as possible to see how much the judge allows.
