I came to prime to get my CDL and one year experience. Yes $1200 a week for the tractor to rent. Comes out to about $1400 a week ins, permits, etc. basically you pull the first load to pay off your week and then you pull another load to pay yourself. That is why prime has 10,000 trucks no truck payments all the new drivers pay it.

Those high payments at prime is what’s killing the profits. You guys make good money there but they take a lot of it on all them payments.

But if it was me, I would try finding smaller company to run with. They will usually treat you better and you will make more money than you would with mega carrier.
I understand and agree what you’re saying about Prime Inc. but they do send the revenue information for every load to the lease operators. Line haul, fuel surcharge, tolls, reefer fuel surcharge, detention, layover, tonu, etc.
Whenever I watch this girl‘s video, she said they don’t get confirmation confirmations or anything like that. They only get whatever prime wants them to get.

Maybe she is a company driver. If so of course they aren’t going to tell a company driver what they are getting from their contract shippers. Prime is the largest reefer fleet in the industry. A company driver is only told the empty and loaded miles. You can do the math yourself based on the cent per mile you get paid.

A lot of shops here in USA have hourly rates set and we can call around and ask what those rates are. If you don’t like it, we can go somewhere else where it’s cheaper.
you need to check and make sure all of your fuel lines stay good, i had many problems with rubber fuel lines cracking and reefer sucking air and not running.

that prime driver is a lying , i drove for them and drove my butt off, they let me go because i discovered the dispatchers were giving their fav drivers best loads because they were getting kick backs from the drivers, i wouldnt pay the dispatchers for loads so i left prime,
They really are super handy. I use the broom for 18 years and whenever I bought this reefer, I got a leaf blower. And it’s the best thing I ever had for my trailer. You get done in like 30 seconds.

I used to get so tired of running in the snow and getting caught in whiteout. I ran nabisco cookies out of stock bridge ga to Tulsa ok. Running thru Russellville Arkansas my alternator quit. I found the international truck dealer mechanic shop open all night. By the time they got me fixed a winter storm caught up with me and the roads were closed. I parked at a flying J for the night. Next morning I found trucks had just pulled in and parked everywhere and I could not get out of the parking lot. By ten am trucks started leaving. Drove all day on icy roads with snow falling. Made it to a loves right at the turn pike to tulsa. Had a phone in my truck cause cellphones were new then. Called the customer he said stay where you are and come in at 8 am I got trucks stuck at my dock and in the parking lot. I was pissed. I showed up at 8 and they were busy getting trucks unstuck. My trusty Pete had no trouble with the snow. Finally got unloaded and had to drive (slowly) due to road conditions to my reload in rogers Arkansas. Got there at a quarter to 5 at a recycling center and the guard told me to weigh in and pull up and park. I went inside and was told they would load me in the morning cause they leave at 5. The guy told me they had a warm break room where they had a sandwich machine and I could make coffee. Had a nice tv too so I ate sandwiches that night and watched TV till bedtime then went to sleep in the truck. Got loaded Friday morning for savannah ga to the paper mill.....for Monday morning. Once I got out of the snow and ice I rolled home. So basically 3 day run and still had to go home cause I couldn't unload till Monday. At that time I was living an hour and a half from savannah ga. Got home I think around midnight. Not the best trip but at least I was able to stay loaded!! There's my story bandit.

$1400 a week for a truck payment is way too much on a truck that will never be yours in the end. I hope they didn’t sucker you in to leasing one.
