The video is step-by-step and mostly unedited so you can see exactly how I style my hair. I've completely changed my hair stying routine since discovering the Denman Brush....and loving the results! Any questions, let me know!
Thanks for sharing! A tip I want to provide is that dry Hans will cause frizz. If you scrunch with a bit of oil, like a dot, your hair will be waaay less frizzy!
Renee, I can’t believe you did this video because I just bought the Denman brush lol!! I tried it the other day and I couldn’t get it right the brush was getting tangled in my hair 😮 but seeing your video it makes sense! So tomorrow morning you’ll be in my bathroom with me and I’ll try again step by step as I rewatch! I hope it works because your hair looks beautiful!! 😊
Oh wow! We were on the same page!! I took me a while to get it figured out....and I still have sections of my hair that need work. But every time I style my hair with the Denman brush, I learn more. The secret to big loopy curls is brush then turn...brush then turn.
@11:31 was an "Aha moment" for me . For years I've avoided the diffuser on my blow dryer because it made my curls shrink, never occurred to me to start by placing the diffuser in front on my hair instead of placing it on my tips . Thank you Renee !
Thanks for showing this video. My stylist just cut my hair to enhance my wavy curls, after years of trying to wear it in a straighter style. I was at a loss until I watched your video. Several tips you gave that greatly improved my end result. I ordered the Denman brush and expect it will improve even more. I was really getting worried I was not going to be able to pull it off. But, now I am planning on keeping this cut. A big plus is that I am spending less time on my hair since with this style I don't wash and style every day and I have been told it makes me look 10 years younger!
Very nice result and great curls Renee! I've been figuring out how to style with a Denman brush for the past couple of years and it did take me a while to figure out how to get the best results in my hair. It really does create nice curls once you figure out the best way to use it in your hair.
You're so talented with make-up and hair! If my hair looked like yours when I finished fixing it, I'd be willing to spend a bit of time with it. Alas, mine looks worse after "fixing" it than it did when I just wash it, curse it, and let it go. So I just wash it, curse at it, and then let it go. And blow drying (even with a diffuser) fries my hair, so I just let it "air dry". It takes forever, but I just show up with wet hair (and no make up since I look like a child with crayons had a seizure on my face when I try to apply make-up).
Wow! That is quite the styling process you have to go through. I am so glad that I have straight hair. I wash my hair, brush it & run some gel through it. & Let it air dry. 👍
I have naturally curly hair and my routine is simple. I wash it, squeeze all the excess water out with my hands, put some gel through it, scrunch my hair and leave it air dry. The result is beautiful curls.
Love! I pretty much do the same only toward the end I add a tiny bit of hair oil to my hand and rub in really well before touching my hair to separate curls as it helps with frizz.
Oh my goodness..from one naturally curly hair girl to another I gasped when I saw you run that brush thru 😮 but Wow! I gotta try this technique now. Thanks for sharing 👍 your hair always looks great btw!!
I didn't brush my hair for 20+ years....and If I ever tried it I got nothing but a huge head of frizz. I really did some studying of other curly hair gals and made sure to get the Denman Brush. It took me about a month of trial and error to get it "good" but I still need to work on my technique. It's the combination of water, products, brushing and diffusing that work together to create the great curls. Your hair may be different than mine....so you'll have to work on different sections to get it figured out...but I HIGHLY recommend the Denman Brush! It's the only way I can get the loopy bouncy curls 😊
I'd never attempt to put a brush to my hair! I get a hug head of frizzies even without brushing it. I can't imagine what I'd get if a so much as looked at a brush!
Hi! I want to thank you so much for this video, all the products you used on this video love my hair! My curls turned beautifully and perfectly curled and so luscious, my hair has the same curl pattern as yours and it works perfect for me. I did recommend this to my daughter and she will be using it too. Not sure how you came with this magic combination of products, but this is my holy grail for now on. I also love the suggestions on the other videos, I’ll just keep watching. Thanks you again! 😊❤
What a gorgeous amount of curly hair you have ! I was blown away with the olive outfit, sunkissed tan and big beautiful locks. Thank you for your video 💗
You get great haircuts. Take us to beauty shop with you. Different textures require different products and styling. I have the same curl as you but my hair is thick and coarse. Anything with coconut makes my hair frizz. Also I stopped coloring my hair. What do you do different to keep it shiny?
Love it! I also just got my Denman & it works better than a flat brush. The only thing I do differently is the final fluff is with a little oil. Makes it really shiny!
Funny you should ask that....I don't let me hair dry because I thought it would be weird. But on Saturday, I gave it a try! I let it air dry about 50% but the roots were still soooo wet so I diffused them after about an hour of air drying. My hair turned out ok....but I had lots of frizz at the ends.
Love it Renée, and your cute little jumpsuit 😊 In the Pandemic I stopped blow-drying my hair, I guess because we couldn't go anywhere. Ever since then I leave my hair to dry natural which takes a while then I put in my gloss product. That's all I use! I have long wavy blonde hair, like platin colour. Your hair needs lots of care but looks beautiful. Have a good Wednesday.🇬🇧🌞🐾💛
I am actually watching this for my mom who has lovely curls and never quitte figure out her hairstyle routine. Thank you for the video, you have lovely hair. Did you feel a big difference in your hair when you went gray? I AM BUYING EVERYONE I KNOW WITH CURLS A DENMAN BRUSH!
Hi Renee from Ireland. Your hair looks fantastic and goes lovely with your tan too. I'm Irish but my hair is so like yours, I was wondering though if you have layers, or long layers even. My hair is super thick with layers but I feel they are maybe too many different lengths and I love yours. Hope you can help with tips to ask my hairdresser when cutting. Enjoy your good weather, it's raining here, but then it is Ireland. Blessings Mary
Thank you, good video and helpful to me. I'm still figuring out my curls and what works best for me. I used to straighten my hair all the time and at times I want to go back. Haha but I press on! Thank you!
Greetings Renee! Wow! Your hair is just glorious! I have thin, fine, wavy hair, but I might just try this method anyway. Thank you so much. Love and blessings ♥️🙏
My gosh you have soooo much hair! Lucky you! So glad you joined the “adapted” curly girl method! Welcome!! Did you watch some videos on how to do it? When you scrunch, you want scrunch upwards and be a little more gentle with your loops. You seem like you have very thick, coarse, 3B hair which is a great combo and your hair really loved the attention. You have strong hair and it won’t be damaged if you dry it on high heat, you cut it regularly and it’s not super long, so you can use a higher heat. I always liked your hair, but this looks great! Watch @GenaMarie and @manesbymel for some great tips!
you have nice hair, I have fine hair used to have a lot of hair when i was a teenager. old age caused my hair to thin I guess. if i brush my hair like you did while it is wet my hair will snap and break because my hair is so fragile. my hair dresser yrs ago told me never brush your hair while it is wet it can break off.
Wow, I'm very impressed by how you did that. Seeing it come together like that was fascinating. Not gonna lie, there where moment where I didn't think it would turn out great, but it totally did. Trust the process I guess. 😆
I simply love your hair because of you I have embraced everything about my hair. Do you have layers? I always hv issues with flat crown but I love your hair shape when you cut it what style do you tell them to do or do you cut your own hair?
Hi Renee, I love the difference that using the Denman brush made. Your curls turned out so pretty. I've often thought of trying it, and now I think I am going to. I'm still hoping that your hairdresser will let you explain to us how she cuts your hair.I have very similar hair to yours. Thank you for all of your videos. I really enjoy them.🌷
Good morning! Who would have thought brushing your curls would give such beautiful bouncy curls?! Looks awesome! Lot of work, mine is blow n go and see what kind of attitude it has for the day. Have a great day!
I know.....I always thought the brush would produce frizz (and it can if not used correctly). Once I figured it out, I now get big bouncy curls! I'm loving it! It does take a bit more time but worth it 😊
My hair isn't the curly way yours is mine is like more a wave with curls at the end but I'm thinkingI want prettier hair so next week gonna check out some curly hair products to see what I can find and try em out.. Walmart here where I live in Canada looks like theyhave that Curl Talk line but I'll see what I can find.
I have been looking for a styling brush the last few days and just seeing your video. I have 2c wavy curly hair so not sure if this would be good for my wavy hair. And also, there are some denman dupes out there and not sure if they're as good as the original. This seems pretty pricey!
Hi! I bought a dupe because I thought the Denman was a big pricey also...and the dupe made my hair VERY frizzy...and my hair would get stuck in it. It wouldn't smoothly slide through when styling. So then bought the Denman Brush...and it's sooo worth the money!
When I do get curls like that, I never know what to do to brush it out. Whenever I brush them they turn to frizz. Do you just wet your hair down every day if you’re not going to go through the whole washing it and re-styling it?
Thank you! I watched an hour of others till I found you!! It is def something that takes practice, but I have some awesome curls, coils in my hair today!! aloha-M

Thanks for sharing! A tip I want to provide is that dry Hans will cause frizz. If you scrunch with a bit of oil, like a dot, your hair will be waaay less frizzy!

Yep. I have wavy grey hair and I style it with a Denman D3 as well. Some people prefer a finger coiling, I prefer my Denman.
I will do some finger coiling around my face as needed...it's a great technique too!
Pretty , nothing better than natural curly hair.

Perhaps using the Denman Brush to produce some loops would accentuate your cowlicks?
Any recommendation on what size to get?My hair is a longer Bob,length un chi

Beautiful hair Renee. Can you please tell us what shampoo and conditioner you use? Thank you.
Love the tutorial! Wondering if I can use this method and just let air dry? Have you ever tried?
Have you ever done a video on letting your hair air dry?
I have been looking for a styling brush the last few days and just seeing your video. I have 2c wavy curly hair so not sure if this would be good for my wavy hair. And also, there are some denman dupes out there and not sure if they're as good as the original. This seems pretty pricey!

Do you use a silk pillowcase for your curls. Supposed to help with frizzies and easier on your face skin
Oh absolutely!! I've been sleeping on silk for many years
Have you tried the volumizing clips for your crown?
Renee, what brand of hair dryer do you use?
When I do get curls like that, I never know what to do to brush it out. Whenever I brush them they turn to frizz. Do you just wet your hair down every day if you’re not going to go through the whole washing it and re-styling it?
Love this! Can you tell me roughly how long this process takes you?
It take me about 10 minutes to add the product and style with the Denman brush. Diffusing takes about another 10 minutes.
@@WelcomeToMyCurls thanks so much for the reply! Can’t wait to try this - my texture is A LOT like yours ☺️

I have lots of layers....many many layers 😊

How is your hair cut; all one length or layers?
Lots and lots of layers 😊
Your hairstyle is truly lovely BUT my lazy pixie cut is lovely also (as in more free time, lol.)
I get that! 😊
There is so much product in it you should be able to do anything even glue yourself to the ceiling. Mine is that curly with one product and air dried.
How many hours does all this takes.?
My hair is wavy with some curly. So, I wonder if this would work for me.
If you use light weight products and scrunch when wet then you could produce some pretty curls!
@@WelcomeToMyCurls is your hair cut in layers? Mine is a bob one length.
Your link for curls rock is a green bottle for BedHead Curls Rock. Link does not seem to match what you use in your video? Thanks.
They recently redesigned the bottle....it's the same stuff. I just bought a 2-pack of the new bottle :)
Do you have your hair cut by a curly hair specialist at the salon?
The same lady has been cutting my hair for 15+ years....and she is a curly girl herself. She completely gets it!
not that your hair didn't already look nice, but that was witchcraft! 😍
Have you ever blown your hair out straight? If so, I’d love to see a picture.
Haven't straightened my hair in 15+ years :)
Blow drying is what creates frizz...scrunch and air dry.
If I don't diffuse somewhat then my hair is super flat in the crown. I get no lift and look like a wet dog
Me too! Way too flat everywhere with air drying
Beautiful 🩷
