You were the first curly UA-camr that didn’t pile on product after product. So after a year and a half I have narrowed my routine down and my hair is so so so much curlier. After watching u I now put leave in conditioner and gel while in shower then twist the hair and put it up with a t-Shirt. Makeup. Then defuse. Wow what a difference. Thanks for the advice. I am an old curly girl too 65 years old.
Thanks! I feel like I use a lot of product but if I do it's only one! I am going to try to do what you suggested, putting the product in the shower, using my microfiber towel and then diffusing. I always forget to try bc I'd have to remember to bring it in the shower with me! LOL. Sounds like a good video idea! Thanks!
Your hair looks Great ! Mine is pretty much like yours. I never completely dry my hair so maybe thats why I have so much frizz ! I'm going to try that. Thank you ! What hair products do you use just Aunt Jackies and Tresemme ? Was that it ? No curl cream ?
I have very fine hair, in my 50's now so I get a body perm 2 or 3 times a year to give it both curl & volume. I don't wash hair at all for 4 days then maybe a small amount of conditioner. I've tried more self curling by crunching my damp hair... sometimes I use my hands, sometimes a towel. I've been using various mouses with moisturizer but they always leave my hair feeling stiff. What else can I do without inadvertently washing out the perm? I have shoulder length hair & use mostly white rods with a few grey ones on top.
Thank you for this video. Finally someone who has hair like me. I’ve been struggling to learn how to manage my dry, course curly hair. The older I get the crazier my hair gets. Thanks again😊
I just found your channel! At 69 years of age with coarse, dry frizzy curly hair….I can’t wait to try your method. As a teenager in the 1960’s I used to iron my hair on the ironing board. I’d go outside voila frizz and curls. Now I just got 10 inches cut off my hair, no more ponytail. Here I go, I’m jumping in. Thank you! Wish me luck.
Finally, somebody has a hair like mine. Thank you. I'm 55 yrs old. Like most you & most other girls with curly hair, hated my hair. I was getting so frustrated with my dry curly hair, that I was about to get it all cut off, when I started to see videos on how to care for curly hair. So, I started the curly hair journey, but after 9 months, my hair was still dry & frizzy. It makes a lot of sense to condition every day, so I'm going to start doing that.
Let me be the first to say that you can have long hair as long as you have healthy hair! I am 60 and still have a long naturally curly hair and get compliments on it every day - you do that long hair girl if that’s what you want! You be you beautiful 😍
You look amazing! Thanks for keeping it real and simple. It's nice to see someone explain their own experiences and what works for them, not based on popular methods or beliefs but years of trial and error.
I am 67 years old and have been thinking about trying to bring out my curls only for the last couple of years. For a long time I didn't even try because I was using shampoo/conditioner to treat hair loss, and the programs were not completely "curly girl approved." About 6 months ago I decided that the hair loss products weren't solving the problem so I might as well work on the curls. It has been frustrating, but it's getting better. But then my problem was the expense of trying all these different products. I just don't have that much money! This tutorial has brought me so much relief and hope!
Thank you! Honestly, do not worry at all about the Curly Girl Approved stuff. I don't follow any of it!! There are no rules, it's silly. I only shampoo once every few weeks. Condition daily. You also don't need different products, I only use one at a time and usually its from a drug store.
I'm so grateful for the information you are providing. I have been trying to "go curly" for a few years and have not had any luck with the products I was using. I got my hair cut 2 days ago with the plan to finally embrace my curls. I then started searching for products and somehow came upon your channel and wow! I purchased some of the products you mentioned but, more importantly, I dried my hair using your method and it's amazing! I used to do it that way many years ago but sort of forgot how I did it. Thank you! Not everyone is liking my curls I think but that's ok. I am not fighting them anymore ( I meant the curls but I think that applies to the naysayers too! ) only to have the frizz return after two hours and my hair to look like a helmet. Freedom!
Hi Catherine! That's so great to hear!!! Makes me feel so happy! I grew up HATING my hair wondering why I was so different and once I embraced them, I love them! Who cares what others think! Although funny, my husband hates when I go straight 😂
I just found your channel. I am in my 50’s my hair is too dry. Others video I looked it takes a loooong time. You made it easy. Few steps and voilá! This is my first time doing my hair with your tutorial. I am impressed! I have to work a little more because I never took care of my hair. Thank you! You made my day!
I see you and I see my hair. Yes, finally... someone understands! I can have nice curls. I have recently decided to stop fighting my crazy hair. Sometimes we get pressured by society to fit into these little boxes, may it be our work environment, straight hair trend, or just feeling insecure about our natural hair... It is time we embrace who we are, so curls it is! It was a great tutorial and takes me back to what I know. Thank you! Love your hair and subscribed! Keep'em coming.
OMG thank you so much!!! So thankfully curls are in again! I would say about 20 years ago it WAS a straight hair trend as you mentioned and I felt so left out, lol. But that is when I went to Ouidad and I feel curls started to come back. Of course in the late 80's my hair fit right in!
Enjoyed this video. I’m so with you about the Curly Girl method. The rules are so strict and some women actually get angry online if you don’t do everything the approved CG way. It’s almost like a religion! One woman on a message board got harassed because she wasn’t using her husband’s old t-shirt to dry her hair. She posted back, hysterical, that she couldn’t because she wasn’t married and didn’t HAVE a husband! Like you, I’ve had curly hair for a very long time, and I know what works for me, product- and styling-wise. One thing I AM going to try from your video is to wrap up my hair in my microfiber towel when I get out of the shower and go off to do my makeup next. Then, come back and add product and style and diffuse. Thanks!
OMG I know!! I've seen very mean comments on other sites for curls! I can't get over it! And they aren't even correct!! We know how to style our curls because we've been doing it forever! Silly I say!
Hi there. Fantastic tutorial as usual. When I was young I struggled with accepting my hair type. I have a South Indian frizzy hair type and I always longed for soft wavy hair. Now, at age 49, Im learning how to work with what God has blessed me with. Watching this tutorial was soothing for me. Ive never thought of using hair spray but I think I am going to try this. Maintaining curly hair is hard work. When my hair is blowfried, it can last me a whole week. Not so when I wear it curly. Product is important - I wish I had access to more. Id love to get nice curls for once in my life. Anyway, your hair is looking absolutely beautiful, as usual. Thanks a million for your tutorials.
Thanks! I was the same! All I wanted was pretty hair and just didn't have it! Hairspray is so important to me because it sets the curls so they don't frizz and fall out! I can also leave my hair for a week when it's straight, btw did you mean to write blowfried or blowdried? Only because I thought it was the best word if you meant blowfried, lol!
I have coarse curly hair. You pulling your hair down through your fingers and shaking your hand to separate the top, omg that's so ingenious! Your video was fantastic and your hair looks awesome. I would like to know how you do your hair the next day without washing it.
Aww thanks. It definitely doesn't look as good the next day. It all just depends on the products I used the day before and how much of it. It's just hit or miss, some days I wake up with curls and some days I wake up with a big tumble weed. Usually just goes up. BUT if I had to I would take a small amount through my hair as if I'm putting it up in a ponytail. But that usually only lasts a couple of hours before it's frizzy.
Your curls are gorgeous! They are just like mine and I love the simplicity of your technique. Mine is much the same. We have beautiful curls that fit us perfectly! Thank you for sharing
Thank you!! I finally found a woman who has hair like mine. Your hair is absolutely gorgeous and didn’t spend 10 hours doing it. I definitely don’t have time for that.
Thank you for the advice that you have for different hair types!!! This is the most informative curl video I have found thus far! I am trying to learn how to best take care of my natural wavy hair!
Aww thanks! It's so true though right? For my type I need a lot of product and some people cringe and if they have thinner and lesser hair I can understand why, lol. We need to figure out what works best for our type!
Your hair looks gorgeous! Mine isn't course or dry, but honestly it looks like yours every step of the way. Except, I always mess it up and now after your tutorial I know what I'm doing wrong. I'm going to try your rake and shake and dividing method, otherwise each wave strand is too thin. Thank you.
Deb, I have hair like yours. I hated my hair has a kid. There were no products and the look for girls was long, straight hair. I fought the curly, coarse, thick-haired frizz, all my life… hot rollers, curling irons, straightening treatments. Lived in fear of rain and humidity. Now, at 60, I am finally embracing my hair type and learning how to use methods and products to get soft curls. It’s still a struggle. 😉
Lol omg I just wrote somewhere about growing up with our hair. No products, I tried V05 which gave me greasy hair so my mother Brushed my hair every day and put it in a ponytail. When i was young I think she washed my hair in the sink once a month lol. Maybe im exaggerating but my hair was better when it was dirty. Ewww lol. When I started HS she hade get my hair cut so short I'm still scarred. All the girls like you said had pretty shiney straight hair. Ugh. It's our turn to embrace and have great hair!!!
I love the separate and shake tip....I can’t wait to try this! I also dry starting with the ends...I figure that part gets trimmed every 6weeks, and they get well conditioned. I love your common sense approach!
I’m still mad that after 40 years of walking around with wet hair I find out that could have defused it this whole time! What? What! That’s the thing I would change about my hair! Dry I wish I had known I could defuse it😭 Truly love the hair your born with!
My hair is the curly opposite of yours - fine, thin, low density and more wavy than curly. Not a lot of your tips would work for me LOL! But I watch you because you are great and personable and we're about the same age. (And I like seeing your dog.) But - I do use hairspray!! Love my hairspray when I feel I need a bit more hold or even texture. Tresemme of course!
OMG that's so great thank you! And I love to hear that! A lot of people are younger on UA-cam (and I still watch them b/c I love them!) but I love to relate to women/men our age. And the silliness at the end of my videos is for everyone, lol. And yes, Wilma is sometimes the star of the show! If I get Keratin, my hair feels thinner and softer with waves. So maybe next summer if I decide to do it again the products can relate more! 🥰
You look amazing for your age!!!!! 😍😍😍 I could NOT believe when you said you were 50 years old. I thought you were more like 35. By the way this is my second video of yours, I was brought here from your Maui Curl Smoothie video! :)
Yes, and to the point! Too many channels try to entertain with jokes or gossip. It gets so old, especially when I want information without the unrelated BS. I really appreciate this channel. New subscriber.
You are my hero!! I'm still getting the hang of it and still experimenting with different products, but thank you for making these (yes, I have seen the others) videos. Hugs.
Thank you for the help. Even as a man what you said at the end resonates with me. I’ll never have the same type of curly hair that my brother had. I wanted it so bad as a kid I always had a dumb bowl cut. I still had all the wavy problems like tangled hair that mom would tug on with the brush. I never thought I could get the definition I wanted. I never could figure out how to manage frizz. Almost every day was a bad hair day. I feel like videos like this are helping me figure out how to manage this hair.
I'm so happy to hear that! You are right its for men too. My son has my hair and until he was 24 he cut his hair buzzed because it was out of control frizzy etc. Finally, during covid he grew it out since he wasn't seeing anyone and he has amazing curls! Thank you for your comment!
I have your hair exactly. I always felt like I had to wash all the time because that refresh so many do just didn’t work. Going to try Cowash or just conditioning. I too can go days without washing. I am really enjoying Mixed Chicks Curl sculptor these days!
Your curls really looked better with the Wow product. Maybe if you use the hair spray with it the curls would last longer but with the Wow your hair was GORGEOUS
Thank you for mentioning wetting in the shower! I feel like it was taboo, but I’m early in my Curly journey and my gut just kept telling me to do this! 🥰
I'm a guy and I just turned 15 so I'm really conscious right now so this helped me get started in embracing my natural waves. This really helped me thanks.
@@DebNYCurl Thanks. My waves are starting to show and be more defined since I have started to use a leave in conditioner and diffuser and shampoo less.
I have the same problem to as far as frizz goes, sometimes it's a battle especially when it's humid!! Lol on your husband filming in the shower, your hair looks pretty even with the little bit of frizz, thank you for all your product reviews!!
I believe when you say for some people more product is needed than many people think also, using hairspray to set the styleis pretty important. I agree i hate sopping wet hair and turning it upside down.
You are sooo right...I tried putting product with soaking wet hair and I never got good hold. My hair is fine and thick, so I don’t saturate conditioner on my head, but I prefer damp hair to work with. Trial and error is what we need to do!
I fell into blowing out my hair and trying to straighten it and with so much hair the cut would usually end up in a bell shape. My hair was about the same length you had in your 2017 video with blonde hair - now i have a great hair dresser and I’m going to grow it to the length you have here, and with proper shaping. :)
I really enjoyed this video. I like the simplicity of your process. I use usually use a similar process when I apply my products, but apply them to wet hair. My hair isn’t as coarse but it is dry in the sense it never feels oily. I usually have good success with applying my products to wet hair, I want to see my results with applying to damp hair. I often don’t diffuse my hair until it’s about 50-60 % dry. Do you always diffuse right after you put in your product? Also, does your hair feel stiff or sticky using hairspray? I do often use a gel and am able to go 2-3 days just using dry refresh. I feel the same way about wet refreshes, I’d rather just wet or wash my hair in the shower. By the way, your hair looks great.
Thank you! I think b/c of the texture of my hair 2nd day I look like a wild child and it's just not worth trying to refresh. Even when I put my hair in a lose bun. Then my hair stays up from the bottom. If wet application works best for you I say stick to it! I think it's also a matter of being used to a certain routine. I always diffuse right after. Sometimes if I get distracted and my hair has been drying on it's on it starts to frizz and I feel my hair isn't as nice as it would be if I diffused right away. The Tresemme hairspray is not sticky at all! I think that's why I love it. I literally feel no stiffness or anything after spraying, and I use a lot! But it really sets my curls.
This product is amazing I just bought it and used it I love it I use to use three products to style my curls not anymore you taught me to use one product I don’t use shampoo ever only wen lavender and a conditioner I also have dry hair like you my hair is never greasy either I love your earrings where did you get them. Thanks again for all your help much love to you❤️❤️
I literally said "awww" out loud bc I LOVE to hear if I gave even a little good advice! Thank you! My earrings I am obsessed with, lol. They are from Ana Luisa www.analuisa.com/. I actually will be having a video out next week on more of their jewelry. I have 2 older daughters and they love the jewelry as well so we are all obsessed with all of their pieces!
Love your hair. Mine is very similar- coarse, dry, and wavy. The coarseness of my wave makes my hair look very similar to your style. The most important thing left out of these videos is the CUT. I wish I was able to see the back of your hair at some point. Is there a way to cut it to bring out the curls- layers without losing the length? Is your hair cut no different than any other less curly hair, or was it cut by a curl specialist, such as Deva for example? Although I’ve used their products and don’t love them.
That is a GREAT observation that I honestly should have added to this video! So I usually, at least during this video, get long layers all around. She also thins it out usually if I feel it's puffy. But I cut my hair SO short the last time that I'm growing it out and it's huge. I ended up getting short layers. Over it. No, don't spend your money on a Deva or Ouidad stylist. It's so much more money for a typical haircut. I'll try to show my back more!
I used that product in this video bc at the moment I'd say its one of my favorites. I always only use one product at a time but will use creams, leave-ins, mousse and gel (if it's not a crunchy one!).
Im also heavy handed!😆 have toi tried brushing the product and than scrunching? Might look smoother but maybe not as big I’m not sure as you said you know your hair best. That product also have some sort of protein! Yes one of my favorite. Even their cowash. It’s cleansing but moisturizing “purify me” after quench i use curl la la. 😊
OH I should try their cowash! I've used the denman brush before it works good. I sectioned it which took longer than I'd prefer but maybe I'll try to just brush and scrunch. Hmmm sounds like a good video idea! thanks!
Hello I just found your videos.. You have beautiful curly hair!! I am struggling with my curly hair and can’t wait to try your method.. However my hair is much thinner than yours. Any tips for us thin curly hair girls??
My hair is so dry and curly/wavy too and really really thick. It's unhealthly dry so I deal with frizz. I wash my hair once every three weeks because of it. It's long too and time consuming because I have to put coconut oil on it then wash it out, then conditioner and again I use a coconut oil shampoo and conditioner, Suave has a good one, to soften my dry blonde damaged hair from color treating over the years. It's so bad my hair won't even take color anymore. Gah! Great video. I'm always looking for tips on how to improve my hair because my God is it dry!
Coconut oil is protein that can dry your hair out, just like fruit in shampoos and conditioners can do. Do you eat a lot of chicken or olive oil, because olive oil is a fruit? Shea butter instantly drys my hair out, because it is a fruit. A little coconut oil should be used lightly.
It is al about the leave in creame and hairspray? Wouw...I have so much stuff, serum, defining curl cream, mouse and oil. It doesn't work at all for frizzy light weight hair. I will try your technque. Thank you so much for sharing.
Are we supposed to brush our hair after our shower? Or just take the towel off and start? Is the product in the beginning step only supposed to be leave in conditioner or something that’s meant for the heat with the diffuser?
I never brush my hair, ever. This is every step in the shower. I don't even brush with my fingers ua-cam.com/users/shortsj5eErmER-uo. Then when I take turban off I add whichever product I prefer. That part depends on your own hair. I have thick coarse dry hair so I like a leave-in or a cream best. If you have thinner hair maybe a mousse would be best for you. Hope that helps.
Dry coarse curls?? YES!! I love your videos. Do you think it's better to have your hair layered if its thick? I have an A line bob/ lob but Idk if it would look too bushy all one length? Lol
Yes! I always have long layers in my hair. I used to have a bob years ago, it can be too much but that was they style so it was ok. I think long layers are good for curly hair. Also, doesn't weigh the curl down. When my hair got to one length it looks drab and flat, less curls. The layer spring the curls up!
Thank you!! With curly hair, after a visit to the salon my hair usually is styled terrible!! LOL I will look into the Wen co - wash, the website won't let me look at the product unless I make an account! Strange!
You and your hair are beautiful but with my experience my hair is way curlier than yours and just took way to long so I decided to just chop it off . At 60 I’m happy wash and go now . I wish I had the patience to let it grow but hotflashes won’t let me lol.
Which editing app or software do you use?☺️ I enjoyed this very much! I wanna try damp styling but my hair is finer than you, not fine but finer and softer but super frizzy and dry too. I used to follow a girl who had super fine hair and she puts product on soaking wet in the shower like not dripping soaking like I can’t even explain and did her hair upside down, I tried her method because her hair looked amazing but it was a disaster and a waste of SO much product!! So now I modified it and I like it so far but I wanna try other techniques too! Your hair looks great!!! Love this💜
Sadly everyone's hair is finer than mine, lol UGH. But I've accepted it! I hope some of the techniques I showed can help you! We really do all have different curls and textures so what might work for one won't for another as you learned! LOL
I don't think I've heard of oil conditioners! I am going to look it up! If you mean any oil, like before styling. I have used a serum but I don't usually, it's not enough of a hold and it will only make me feel greasy with no defined curls.
For second day hair I just wet my hands, put a small dab of gel and emulsify, then gently use praying hands down the length of the curls. Really wakes them up and often looks better than my wash day hair and I'm not soaking my hear with water. Let it dry, scrunch out the crunch, then go! I have weird hair...the top of my hair is very dry, coarse where the rest is soft. Can be frustrating!
I have curly, moderately coarse hair with some fine and some medium strands but mostly coarse strands, very thick head of hair due to thick strands! What hairdryer and diffuser are you using in this video?
Hi there - just found your channel and I wish UA-cam would have recommend it to me a couple of weeks ago, it would have saved my a lot of money. I have coarse dry hair as well, not that thick and much like you have, but anyway similar. I followed strictly the curly girl method and my hair looks every time like a mess😂I have 2 washdays per week, refresh my crazy curls every morning, etc. The texture of my hair changed a lot in the last decades ( I am on 54 years old coarse-curly one). And now I see someone of my age, "breaking" all the silly rules and I love it. Today is my washday, I will try right away your method. Curious about the outcome😂Best from Duesseldorf/Germany and thank you so much for your video
I stopped dying my hair in early 2020, and now that it’s all my natural color, the waves feel less my hair is so much softer and finer. I just don’t know what to do to get the curls or waves back in there better.
For me, when I don't color my hair the texture is dry and coarse. I get the opposite, after coloring my hair it's soft. Try Wow Serum for curls. I just did a review on it and I add it to my hair soaking wet in the shower and don't rinse out. Keeps the curls together and soft.
So do u not put any product but the leave in conditioner on your hair? No curl creme? I have thick coarse wiry hair that's dry and frizzy like yours. So just use the Quench conditioner and no other product?
I always only use one product at a time, I dont' have time to put a bunch, not necessary. I do, however, put a lot of product in. If your hair is like mine it will make a huge difference. It seems like a lot but it defines the curls better. I usually get told I put too much product in but when you have thick coarse dry hair and a lot of it, it's necessary! My favorite type of product is a leave-in or a curl cream. I'm not a fan of the cast that gel leave and mousse is good but light. I need the heavyness of the creams.
How do you deal with the front? I hate my curls in the front, so I usually straighten the roots a bit and front so it doesn't look crazy and get in my eyes. Maybe I should just let it do it's thing.
I realize your comment is a year old, but... I have a smallish forehead so my curls fall annoyingly in front of my eyes rather than nicely around the sides of my head. I use mousse and/or gel on all my hair, then I alligator-clip the front into the shape I want it to stay in, and finally diffuse-dry. The front stays pretty nicely.
Some people say not to but I apply at the root bc as you said that's where I see all the frizz! I don't have oily or thin hair so I think it's ok if I do.
Oh I did a video on that just last year. Wait...literally a year ago today! Wow, that's weird! ua-cam.com/video/Z_7HXWGuCZU/v-deo.html I liked it considering it's a gel, no crunch etc but I had fly aways everytime I touched my hair. Overall liked it!
This was such a lovely video. You’re talking to ME! I have coarse, 3B curly hair, but due to menopause, I shed a lot of hair and now have only half the volume. I hated it when it was so thick as a teenager, but how I miss having volume. And my hair is fine so it frizzes in a flash, the minute there’s a bit of moisture in the air. Haha, I know what the weather is for the day, just by looking at my hair. I am going to try this method, for sure. I often walk around with wet hair that sticks to my shoulders and it takes literally hours to air dry. Your hair is absolutely GORGEOUS!!You’re so lovely and personable…we could be friends 💗☀️
This is my new favorite: Bio Ionic: click.linksynergy.com/link?id=YtlPfgzf18Y&offerid=696429.14999840474&type=2&murl=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.bioionic.com%2F10x-ultralight-speed-dryer-new-black
How do you touch up your hair in the morning after you sleep on it? Do you have to start from scratch in the shower? It would be nice to see a video on what you do in the morning after you shower if you don’t wash your hair everyday.
The movie "Christmas Vacation" one of the characters had hair sticking way out very frizzy. If I dare take a brush to my hair I'd be looking like that.
LOL I am sitting here trying to think which character bc we LOVE that movie! Is it the little girl? Cousin Eddie's daughter, lol. The picture in my thumbnail, yup I brushed my hair for that! hahaha but that is what I looked like growing up. so sad, lol.
Thanks! I decided to grow it out again! This is the 10th LAST time, lol.
You look amazing! Thanks for keeping it real and simple. It's nice to see someone explain their own experiences and what works for them, not based on popular methods or beliefs but years of trial and error.
Thank you! And believe me, I've had MANY years of trial and error! 😄
Hey, you could be Barbara Streisands sister 🤩
I have such thick coarse hair and it has been hard finding people on YT that have similar hair, THANK YOU!! Also, you are so beautiful
Me neither! 🥰
I have hair exactly like yours. Your drying method worked wonders and it was so much quicker! Thank you
Thank you for the advice that you have for different hair types!!!
Best curly hair video I've seen, thank you for the great tips!
Wow thanks!!
Appreciated your tutorial, very helpful 👍
Aww thanks! Hope it works!
I’m still mad that after 40 years of walking around with wet hair I find out that could have defused it this whole time! What? What!
That’s the thing I would change about my hair!
Dry I wish I had known I could defuse it😭
Truly love the hair your born with!
LOL!! Now you can! I can't air dry it drives me nuts, too long of a time and don't like the feel of wet hair on me!
My hair is the curly opposite of yours - fine, thin, low density and more wavy than curly. Not a lot of your tips would work for me LOL! But I watch you because you are great and personable and we're about the same age. (And I like seeing your dog.)
But - I do use hairspray!!
Yes! Exactly same here. Love these videos & have gotten some useful tips even though my hair type is different (more wavy, fine).
You look amazing for your age!!!!! 😍😍😍 I could NOT believe when you said you were 50 years old. I thought you were more like 35.
By the way this is my second video of yours, I was brought here from your Maui Curl Smoothie video! :)
OMG you are so sweet thank you!! Trust me, if you really stare at me you will see all the wrinkles appear! 😄 🥰
We have very similar hair! I appreciate your ideas on how to care for the curls!
Thank you so much!! 😊 I always hated my hair, lol.
@@DebNYCurl Same here😥
This video is amazing. These young girls have no idea how to give advice, your video is so sweet and encouraging
Awww thank you! ❤️
Yes, and to the point! Too many channels try to entertain with jokes or gossip. It gets so old, especially when I want information without the unrelated BS. I really appreciate this channel. New subscriber.
@@Irish__Clan omg thank you! I do appreciate that, especially b/c I get nervous that I talk too much sometimes, lol! 🍀
You are my hero!! I'm still getting the hang of it and still experimenting with different products, but thank you for making these (yes, I have seen the others) videos. Hugs.
🥰
Beautiful! You’ve given me hope. Great instructional video.
Finally... Someone with hair very much similar to mine. I'm going to try your method! Thanks so much!
Thank you for doing your hair for the one that have your and my type of hair. Like it, like it!
Love it! It's beautiful. Thank you for the tutorial. 😊💕
I'm a guy and I just turned 15 so I'm really conscious right now so this helped me get started in embracing my natural waves. This really helped me thanks.
That makes me so happy!! Thank YOU!
@@DebNYCurl Thanks. My waves are starting to show and be more defined since I have started to use a leave in conditioner and diffuser and shampoo less.
Looks Beautiful, so you put conditioner in your hair, put microfiber cloth, & re add condituiner again, TY for you x & patience!
I have the same problem to as far as frizz goes, sometimes it's a battle especially when it's humid!! Lol on your husband filming in the shower, your hair looks pretty even with the little bit of frizz, thank you for all your product reviews!!
Thanks!! And yes, I'm glad you know what I mean when I sometimes say it's a "good frizzy look" lol. As far as my husband, he's a knucklehead, lol!
Do u use a clarifying shampoo? And which one? Im trying to find the right one.
I don't. Unless this question was for Kat, lol.
@@DebNYCurl lol...I use a clarifying shampoo by Verb once a month. What I use and get great results with is Olaplex 3...do you like that product?
Absolutely gorgeous!! I am so happy I found you ❤
I love your common sense! So refreshing!
I just discovered my curls and love your tutorials. Very descriptive and informative.
Yay! Thank you!
I feel like I’m in my 50s and just learning how to manage my hair - thank you!!
Your hair looks great and I love the do what works for you! It makes me not feel bad for just doing what works!
Yes! Don't listen to others who have rules. There are no rules! Just suggestions!
Love your hair ! So you condition every day. With which conditioner ? Then you condition again after your shower ? Did you use a cream ?
would love tp see you do a wash day review showing what products you use etc
Do you normally only add leave in conditioner, or do you also add product? Your video only shows leave in conditioner?
I used that product in this video bc at the moment I'd say its one of my favorites. I always only use one product at a time but will use creams, leave-ins, mousse and gel (if it's not a crunchy one!).
Wow! Great tips for curly hair, thank you.
Thanks!! I think a mousse is great for thinner hair as it gives more lift!
Does the Aunt Jackie's Quench help with heat...like protect if u blow dry it?
I don't believe it's a heat protectant.
Your hair looks amazing! I’m 48(graduated in 91) I know all about no products in the 80s.
Wasn't it terrible! I remember Aussie and gels like L.A. Looks lol! Not great for our hair!
Gorgeous I have the same hair do you mind sharing what hair color you use ? Thanks
I change it up, but use Loreal box color at home usually. I go for light brown.
It looks darling. Thank you.
Loved your video and you NY ‘tude! 🥰🥰
Haa thanks! OMG when I was editing sometimes I think "omg am I too harsh?" LOL!
@@DebNYCurl Not at all and that’s coming from a Cali girl! 🤣🤣🥰🥰
Love ur hair and ur blouse. I'll try ur technique. Thx.
@@DebNYCurl I plan on growing my hair till March then getting long layers.
Absolutely stunning
Thank you for sharing! Your hair looks like it was done at the salon! Have you tried Wen Co Wash Cleansing Conditioner by any chance?
Thank you!! With curly hair, after a visit to the salon my hair usually is styled terrible!! LOL I will look into the Wen co - wash, the website won't let me look at the product unless I make an account! Strange!
Love this ! I also have dry curly hair
Thanks for sharing. I needed that tutorial
You and your hair are beautiful but with my experience my hair is way curlier than yours and just took way to long so I decided to just chop it off . At 60 I’m happy wash and go now . I wish I had the patience to let it grow but hotflashes won’t let me lol.
Which editing app or software do you use?☺️
I enjoyed this very much!
LOL
Absolutely gorgeous today. Thank you for sage advice...work with what God gave us! Amen Deb! 🙏🏼⭐️❤️😃💎
Thank you! 🤗
Pretty color ❤
Looks GORGEOUS
Have you ever used an oil conditioner after washing your hair.
I don't think I've heard of oil conditioners! I am going to look it up! If you mean any oil, like before styling. I have used a serum but I don't usually, it's not enough of a hold and it will only make me feel greasy with no defined curls.
THANKK YOUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU im new to this whole thing
Love your hair!!!
Looking for your lipstick - gorgeous!
Thanks! It's most likely my favorite, Milani Keep it Full in Soft Rose!
That sounds like a great idea, I'm going to try that out bc lately I really don't want to wet my hair every day!
I have curly, moderately coarse hair with some fine and some medium strands but mostly coarse strands, very thick head of hair due to thick strands!
What hairdryer and diffuser are you using in this video?
INFINITIPRO BY CONAIR amzn.to/38IdBpr
I have the same hair!
I'm not sure if that's a good thing or a had thing! 😄
Have you ever used Rizos curl ?
Yes I have a video on it! Loved it!
Whoop whoop, first😂💗
I just found you. Love the post. ❤
Beautiful
How do you deal with the front? I hate my curls in the front, so I usually straighten the roots a bit and front so it doesn't look crazy and get in my eyes. Maybe I should just let it do it's thing.
I used to do the same and straighten the front only with my fingers but now I just let it sit while it dries, it's ok.
I'm going to start applying at the root. It always gets frizzy up there. 😩
Some people say not to but I apply at the root bc as you said that's where I see all the frizz! I don't have oily or thin hair so I think it's ok if I do.
Can you please tell the name of the product you use.
Aunt Jackies Quench leave-in. Good stuff.
I love ur curls!!!!
Aww thanks!!
Have you ever tried bioterra gel it’s water based and it works great
Oh I did a video on that just last year. Wait...literally a year ago today! Wow, that's weird! ua-cam.com/video/Z_7HXWGuCZU/v-deo.html
I liked it considering it's a gel, no crunch etc but I had fly aways everytime I touched my hair. Overall liked it!
I love love their mousse, none like it!!
What kind of hair dryer do you use?
This is my new favorite: Bio Ionic: click.linksynergy.com/link?id=YtlPfgzf18Y&offerid=696429.14999840474&type=2&murl=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.bioionic.com%2F10x-ultralight-speed-dryer-new-black
How do you touch up your hair in the morning after you sleep on it? Do you have to start from scratch in the shower? It would be nice to see a video on what you do in the morning after you shower if you don’t wash your hair everyday.
I usually have to re-wet it in the shower with conditioner. Unless I know I'm home all day doing nothing. Usually it just goes up in that case.
Another great video, thank you!
Aww thanks!!
Beautiful!!!!!
Your hair is just like mine. I just found a new product that actually works- R&co. Turntable and silky smoothing oil.
Oooo I just looked it up. Going to order it, thanks! It looks familiar, but I don't believe I tried it.
