    Thank you do much!!!!
    The Cateye Enduro 8 stopped working and I assumed this was due to the battery being old. So, I changed the battery (unfortunately, I believe those batteries were old too). Then I purchased a new battery this afternoon and still no luck. I was at wit's end and consider buying a new bike computer until I saw you video. By holding the 3 buttons simultaneously the computer restarted. I truly cannot thank you enough!!!!!

    You made it easy Bikeman! Thanks for taking the time to do this video...I found a PDF online to find my wheel circumference setting, hopefully Cateye uses the same numbers for most of their computers as it was a generic list for no certain model of computer. Have you done a proper way to clean your bike video, along with chain/cassette cleaning? Thanks!

    The best thing about these enduros is why they're called enduro. They run on extremely low power. Probably just a few µw. Battery life often extends to MANY years on a single battery. I had an enduro2 last for close to 10 years the buttons crapped out before the battery did.

    Any advice for when the computer won't read the magnet? I've tried every single position for the 'receiver', even having it so close to the spokes that the magnet clips it as it flies past, but still nothing. The 'receiver' isn't dirty. I've tried putting a super strong niodimium magnet on there and it won't even read that. Very upsetting times :(

      clean the contact points on head and mount. Try that if that don't work you SOL

    • @pauljs75
      @pauljs75 9 років тому +1

      It's just a leaf contact switch that closes the circuit when the magnet goes by. It may not work if in the wrong orientation. You may be able to get the Cateye bracket sensor kit from your LBS or even Cateye themselves.
      Also that part is shared between more than one model cycle computer and has some variants that are all compatible with that cycle computer. Part no: #169-9300 (regular), #169-9350 (heavy duty), #169-9302 (long bracket), #169-9303 (aero bar mount) My manual is a bit old, but hopefully those part numbers are still usable.
      Also ignore the auto-generated links by UA-cam, just try those #'s at the cateye website.

      You have to press the back button "SET", the front " MODE" button and red "START/STOP" button at the same time to activate, km/h will start flashing. That is the first thing this dude mentions in this video. I thought I had a bad battery, but did it intuitively and km/h started flashing...then I read the manual, a lot more info than this video.
