Many thanks! I lost my manual sheet (really is a sheet!) for my Velo 8, and I'm old anyway and can barely read the micro print on them! Much faster watching somebody do it!
Love the flow chart. It made things so clear.
Thanks so much from 2018! Still using velo 8 after maybe 10 years of purchase.
I'm still using mine today dont see a reason to upgrade
That thing works for 10 years?!!!
Yep about 10yrs on mine too 👍
every time I have to set up my Velo 8 and the Velo 9 of my son, I have to look again at this great video - greetings from Thailand
Mr Bike-man thank you for making this how to video. Much appreciated.
Crazy Man!
You're the best bike computer's teacher I ever seen.
That skeleton flow in the board was a very smart and didactc idea ...
Amazing video!!
YOU ARE MY GREAT! I spent an evening with the manual trying to figure out it way of presentation until i found your video . !! thanks a million from Greece
This was AWESOME! I love your flow charts and the neon paper. Extra effort 100% worth it- thank you!
Appreciate your sense of humor. This old fat man put on over 8,000 miles on my last battery. You made this easy.
Really good presentation and now I feel comfortable how to reinstall my Cateye Velo8 again. First time since purchasing 6yrs ago.
Thanks!
I used your video tutorial today to set up my new Velo 7. It saved me hours of frustration. Thank you so much and keep up the good work.
Thank you so much! I would have had no idea how to set the computer without this video.
Thank you for this informative video! I've only been a bike rider for 40 years, and have used dozens of different bike computers, but I couldn't figure out the useless CatEye instructions for my Velo 8. Keep up the great work!
We have a lot of great vid's come on over to our channel and subscribe, it's FREE
Thanks a ton. The paper instructions were seriously lacking. This did the trick for me. Thanks again!!!
Thanks, after having the bike stored for 2 years, battery out, exactly what I needed in a well done pres. Cheers
These Cateyes are great for what they're designed for. The batteries last for ages. I've got a Cateye Mity 3 from 21 yrs ago - it works fine. The Velo 8 is an improvement and good too.
THANK YOU! I couldn't understand ANYTHING of the instructions that was included with the Velo 8. This made so much more sense! Thank you! I'm going to check out your other videos now :D
Had the velo 8 for ages and never known how to set it, thanks
You're the best Bike Man. Thank you!
mate you are hilarious, i wish all teachers were this enjoyable, well done, you even taught me how to use it....greetings from Down Under
I picked up the Velo 8 and your video was perfect. Unfortunately, I could not find my tape measure so I just used the tire size on the tire. Thanks!
Eye am very glad to have found this video. Perfect and simple explanation. Yeah I bought this in 2007/8 and pulled it out and it still works... Thanx.
Brilliant video, made it actually fun to learn how to set up these otherwise fiddly computers and made it easy doing it, thanks Bikeman!
Does it not matter at what point on the spoke you place it? Surely if you put the sensor closer the hub you would use a wheel size equivalent to the circumference of the place you put it?
Just followed your video to set my Velo 8. AWESOME!! Thanks BikeMan.
wow amazing that you guys put this up, made it a breeze and fun too. thanks! (Perth, Australia)
Wonderful step by step teaching! Love the charts! Thanks so much!!
Hello Mr. Bikeman, I love... love your videos! thank you for all your help becuz we need these videos for dummies, we are all dummies :) haha... I got a velo 9 yesterday and I set it all by myself! ha I'm so proud of myself..... All cuz of your videos thank you again and happy riding!
Thanks Bikeman you are the best! Lol...I thought the guy sold me a bad battery at first

Thnx for the video! Greetings from Brazil
cheers this really helped my dad out :)
Thanks! I would have had no idea how to do this without the video. :)
Thanks a lot. I didnt know how to set mph as my velo 5 was preset to kmh here in the uk. Good work my friend and very instructive.
Hola hombre de la bicicleta!!!, muchas gracias, tu video y la explicacion son espectaculares, muy didactica, me ha servido mucho para calibrar mi cateye velo 8!!!, saludos y felicitaciones.
Thank you for your video, you made the installation so easy to follow.
Just what I needed 😊
Thanks heaps buddy. Helped me setup my Velo 8 I picked up cheap. Cheers!
Thanks, it's really helpd me!!! cheers from Brazil!
I'm about to set my first one ever, so simple as possible is cool.
Hey thanks man sooo much, great video and great attitude man..!!!
Your Welcome
I'm going back there in about to re rrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr
If you have already set this up , is it possible to change from KM to ML , without having to go through the entire set-up again? i.e. On stage one, when pressing back button,,will that be the operation completed ?
thanks for this video helped me install my velo 7
THANK YOU! This worked! It's AMAZING!
I haven't got one of these, but I like your presentation :-))
Thank you so much! I was also wanted to ask how do you turn it off? or does it turn of on it's own?
wow great i just bought this yesterday... and this thing is cool...cat velo 8
Great great video! I need to change the battery, because last time I wasn't know how to change the clock on it! 😁😜
Hey, I bought a Cateye Velo 8 CC-FR8 but I can't find its page on the cateye website. What's the difference?
Thanks man, it's pretty useful and salute to you, man!!
Very Helpful, Great Video 👍
freaking hilarious! thanks!! =)) greetings from Philippines!!!!
@Treggabiff glad to know we could help! remember to subscribe to learn some more tips to keep your bike intact
How did you get the first measurement? Everything else was crystal clear.
Thank you so much (from Morocco) !!
I have a 26 inch wheel and now a 2.0 inch rubber tire (before 2,1") and my circumference of the tire is now exactly 206 cm. So I have set now that flashing number in brackets to 206 and hope my computer is now set correctly again. But how do I know if it is set to mph or to kph?
Thank you from Thailand
Thanks for the informative video lesson. Now I have A question. My computer isn't working. My friends tell me there's a battery in the sensor that might be flat but I can't see how to open the sensor. Does it need a battery and if so how do I do this? If there isn't a battery in the sensor, what do you think could be wrong?
Your welcome enjoy.. How about a video response of you and your bike riding in Hungary??
Verry nicely done thank you.
Thanks - I now have a much more accurate speedometer using the actual wheel circumference
It's a nice demo. Thank you for that. I am using a VELO 8 for my anemometer. Let me ask a doubt; how can I select a different wheel size than the default [205]? Other sizes given in the VELO 8 are not able to select by long pressing the front key. Have anyone used this setup for wind measurement? I am completely stuck here.
I,m PROUD of you TOO. Good job
my tire is 700x 32 or 28x1 1/4 x 1 3/4
what number in the [ 205 ] do i need to set
i have a cateye urban wireless ccvt220w but you set it the same way as the model in the video
my wheel is 26 x 1.90 50-559, so i set in the velo 26", i travel about 3 metres, but the DST show 1 metres, what is wrong with my velo?
This is really helpful
Great vid, tnx
liked the video for Velo 8...How about one for Cateye CC-MC100W?
I still use my old Velo 8 and I am happy with it. Now I bought the Cateye Micro Wireless Night Mode - do you also have made a video about these settings?
My Wireless only seems to work when it feels like it. There appears to be neither rhyme nor reason to its behaviour. Even the disc has been carefully BluTacked to the spoke as an added fixing, and correct distances between disc and transmitter/ reciever have been set.
i will unmount my wireless. Last time again it was shwoing abbout 10 km more than on my Velo 8 - and my Velo is well calibrated, always correct, and always same results as tracked on Strava and Sports Tracker
Thank you very much for this video :)
spot on video
Very good guy. In Brazilian thank :)
Nice - Thanks!
hey mrbikeman can i use this on my 36inch unicycle
you saved cateye's arse
Hi , could you make a video for cateye-9

from the u.s. we thank all you guys for checking out the video and subscribe for more info
Thank you
Thanks!
does it reset when u change the battery?
Edvin Maksuti yes
Nice man, trans
Measure the wheel and enter that we have a vid on how to measure the wheel
Cheers helpful
Thanks sir
Nice video.
I have a question though.
Why there is nothing saying what distance from the rim of the tire you have to mount the sensor/magnet?
I believe that if you mount the magnet close to the external rim there is a speed readinfìg, mounting it closer to the center of the wheel there is a different reading.
This because the computer works with the pulses created by magnetic field variation inside the sensor.
Then, at same speed, if magnet/sensor are mounted close to the center of the wheel, the frequency of magnetic field variation is higher.
If magnet/sensor are mounted closer to the tyre, the frequency of magnetic field variation is lower.
There is nothing written in the instruction, and i could not find anything that says how to.
I hope you can find the way to let me understand that.
Thank you
@jonahcoleslaw any time, remember to subscribe and check out some more videos on bike computers as new ones are being released frequently
