There's something about what-if Vegeta legitimately being upset over losing Nappa that's hittin different. Like it really seems like at least in his mind he did the absolute best thing he could for Nappa and gave him a true warrior's end. Who knows, maybe this what-if Nappa even asked Vegeta to end his suffering.
I mean considering how thorough the healing pods the Frieza force has are, Nappa very likely would've been fine if Vegeta could've gotten him back into his pod. Blowing him up was 100% just a punishment for him losing, nothing about preserving his honor was part of that decision

For Kami's sake can you Vegeta fan boys stop doing mental gymnastics for 1 effing second and just accept Vegeta offed Nappa for no good reason, other than Vegeta was just being an a-hole, he WAS a villain during this time in case you've forgotten.

The what ifs are always great cause that means the developers had to get invested into the story more than they already have been in order to develop the normal story as it played out in dbz. Plus who doesn’t love it when they let you play out some what if scenarios that you yourself wondered about yourself and how they would play out (though of course the developers have 100% control of how it turns out)

What if sagas in the Dragon Ball games are one my favourite parts and Budokai was my introduction to them. It fits well with the nature of a fighting game (most fighters' arcade runs are a "what if this character won the tournament" scenario) and this first Budokai has one of the best What ifs. 1:26 - The funniest moment of Vegeta's What-if. The mental loops Vegeta goes to justify his anger. 3:59 - The build up to the finale of this fight was hilarious. Brilliantly anti-climactic and helped by the joke being quick with the delivery. 8:56 - Oh, how I eagerly awaited for you to discover that the Survival nature of this what-if carried over into a third round against Gohan. Your reaction did not disappoint. 11:45 - "You see how aggressive he is for no reason" You say after having killed his father and friend. 15:19 - Best summary of that What-If. The Vegeta and Frieza what-ifs are a tad dull by nowadays standards but it was cool to have a story mode bit where you got to play from the antagonist perspective. The next what-if blows them away though. 18:16 - Unfortunately for Krillin, this grab looks hilarious when performed on him. Love how Cell even stoops down to perform the grab (though I guess as his aim is to grab the opponent's leg, he'd have to stoop down and grab for any character). 19:56 - The moment of glory; gosh this What-If still remains one of the best. It actually had me wanting to play as Cell Jr and disappointed he wasn't playable in the first Budokai. 21:53 - It was a sacrifice Tien was willing to make... of Yamcha's life. Hilarious to see how if Krillin confronted Cell instead of Tien, the world could have been saved much sooner, and entirely by the humans. No sayains required.

Btw, beating these what-ifs allows you to unlock the other difficulties of the World Tournament and doing those unlock the rest of the characters and the Legend of Hercule game mode
So as this is a what if saga, Vegeta isn’t the same as the Vegeta we know From DBZ. In this version, Vegeta killed Nappa not out of frustration or cartoon villainy, but because he was beaten (and possibly had his spine broken) by a low class warrior. In Vegeta eyes, it was more honorable to kill Nappa himself than let him live after being humiliated, which is Why he was able to turn Super Saiyan while thinking of Nappa. He cared for him, and yet everyone is calling him a murderer for doing (what he thought) to be the dignified move.

@@smailchali5102 fully disagree. Anyone who plays fighting games especially at a high level, and does things like chain combos, ect. Will tell you that fighter z is wayyyy harder. All you have to do in Budokai is hit 5 buttons at most to do things like spirit bomb or final flash
My personal favorite what ifs were from raging blast (mainly because those were the only DB game I played with what ifs) but I HOPE that BT4 will have what if scenarios they’re so good
Don't remember but I think krillin cell is player 2 skin or an alternative 3 for cell Jr. Some character's have alternate outfits that call backs to other outfits they wore throughout the series, and movies.
If it's the first dragon ball super full game, the what if saga would be INCREDIBLE! UI vegeta, ssj3 goku black, what if jiren was well written, etc. With kakkarot being the most recent main dbz game I think super has a good chance of being the full game
