- It hasn't always been budokai tenkaichi 4 and Dragonball FighterZ, no. At one point it was just the original dbz budokai and a special game all about the champ himself hercule. Will I actually be able to beat this impossible mode (I switched to baby difficulty)

I didn't even learn how to charge until budokai 2 tutorial I don't even recall anywhere in budokai 1 telling you how to.

Honestly Doto's first instinct is to do a ring out instead of fully fighting is something I could see Hercule doing
The fact that doto did this without using Hercules high tension transformation is an achievement all on its own. Go doto!

This is the gamemode that confused my understanding of Hercule. You see, Budokai was my introduction into DBZ before i ever watchef the anime. So i was confused who this guy with an afro was that was mollywhopping everyone at the Cell Games 😂

I think one of my childhood memories, in DBZ Budakai 2, there was a capsule skill where you can fuse Goku and Hercule together and their skills were hilarious.

@@KingJadInfiniteHope People tend to say that because the "story mode" was akin to a board game. If you can get over that fact, the game is HELLA fun. The amount of hours we put in either solo, with our younger brother, or with other friends who either never played Budokai 2, or weren't really gamers in general was truly unreal (talking 100s of hours)~
@@pyromaniacforhire i’ve played nearly every North American release dbz game, Budokai 3 is my favorite game of all time. it’s more than just the board game story mode that makes me not like Budokai 2.
1. coming from Budokai 1, not having a story mode as good as that game is a step backwards. no cool cutscenes like in B1, you can’t LITERALLY fly around the world like in B3, B2 is just an awful board game with nothing cool about it. what’s the point of being able to use Kid Trunks against Raditz? imagine if that someone’s first dbz game and they don’t know the story of it.
2. the gameplay mechanics weren’t really improved, you can’t do infinite combos because the game forces you to stop after a certain amount of damage. infinites aren’t a bad thing either when you can get out of them like in Budokai 3.
3. the intro isn’t remembered as fondly as Budokai 1 or 3.
4. the item shop still has rng, like in Budokai 1. luckily in B2, you can finesse it, by holding R1, R1, + L1, L2, and just entering and exiting the shop. that’s gives you up to 99% of the capsules. if you don’t know that though then you’re force to do the randomized item shop.
5. B1 & B3 have better soundtracks.
6. Budokai 1 has the Legend of Hercule, & Budokai 3 has Dragon Arena. Budokai 2 doesn’t have an extra game mode as cool as those.
Like i said there’s multiple reasons why that game sucks.
Legend of Hercule was basically the game version of the filler where they're making a movie about him in the Cell Games I'm guessing.
Imagine Hercule using Dynamite Rush and "I gotta present for you" in Fighterz!!

FighterZ has a lot of potential for great characters, hopefully they release Season 4 or FighterZ 2

The champ demands an Advanced mode playthrough! Hercule was my main back in Budokai 1, he's an absolute lethal force when you use him right.
Wonder if Doto realizes Hercule has a transformation that increases his damage. That might've helped.
He doesn't even know how to charge energy I doubt he knew that 😂
If you do go back to Advanced mode, please remember his actual attacks. Hercule can unlock his potential as a transformation, same as Krillin and Kid Gohan. Plus he has two attacks that give easy damage, their combos being easy to pull off as long as you keep your ki charged with Dynamite Kicks.

Better then Rhymestyle playing Budokai's Story Mode on Hard and then begging not to get likes so he has to keep playing. At least Doto has fun being tortured on Hard with Budokai.

I still have this game with original artwork. My father got it for me for my birthday and I played it nonstop and this brings back memories hardcore!! This Hercule side was freaking amazing !! Thanks dots for the memories.

Noticing a skill issue pattern in these budokai videos
This mode was actually fun. It was a great part to add in the game.
I had (and think I still do floating around my house somewhere) a physical copy of the game, and in the manual there are blurbs from king kai and hurcule about advanced tactics, easter eggs, and strategies for the game, one of hurcule's mentioned unlocking a 7th option on the main menu through the tournament mode, even ending with the phrase "what? did you think we forgot how to count?" (referencing how before unlocking this, there are 6 options on the main menu, *almost* one for each dragon ball)
The only reason the Cell saga didn't end this way is because Hercule was planning a dramatic reentry after the z fighters all failed
This was unironically my favorite part of this game. So ridiculous and fun.
2:38 As of nowadays this is about when the Time Patroller from XV1 comes in and kicks the carp out of Hercule, then he gets back up and starts flying...
I think Doto never realized that the reason why it always said that he was at a disadvantage was because Hercule likes exaggerating his stories lmao
Funnily enough, I did these exact same strats you did in this video when i played this years ago. I totally remember having to resort to Dynamite Kicks and grabs, and even kicking the Jrs. in the air!

Honestly if Cell really did lose to Hercule like this, even if he wasn't dead after I imagine he would feel so dejected that he would just have an existential crisis and choose to never wake up since it would mean he wasn't anywhere close to perfect, that or he would oddly enough try to absorb Hercule at a future point.
I thought this was gonna be a realistic simulator where all of the Z fighters are immune to damage and you just suffer until you lose every fight
I hope Tenkaichi 4 has a bunch of cool stuff like this.

Great Job! This was the only thing I was never able to finish in Budokai. The Legend of Hercule was so hard! I remember getting so angry that I smashed my finger slamming my controller down. lol I also remember this is the game that burned a nice hole in the middle of my palm from the rotating the stick during clashes with the inside of my hand. lol Budokai beat me up as a kid.
Bragging about beating the ai on the novice difficulty ia an incredibly Hercule move and I respect the spirit of the campaign lmao
Imagine that this is what actually happened and all the cell games were a hallucination of Gohan after Hercule ABSOLUTELY DESTROYED Goku, sending him to the afterlife with the legendary Dynamite kick, procceeding to do the same with Cell.
OK but unironically in the scale of dragon ball Hercule is pathetic but for us normal people Hercule is a God damn freak of nature.

The inputs are a bit of a learning curve in that game but they make a huge difference. I spammed Hercule special in that mode. Takes a while but the damage is worth it

Watching your vid I love how you mentioned "spamming dynamite kick". Thats exactly What I did trying to beat this mode the first time back when this game came out on the Gamecube. Budokai 1, despite its flaws will always be one of my favorite games of all time.

Hercule has a transformation called High Tension don’t forget to use that the next time you run through it again.
There’s a few more missions that were cut from the main campaign. They added them in at then end, in story select. Hopefully he goes back plays through them.
He already played them off screen. That's how he was able to unlock the mode to unlock this tournament.

I remember this mode from being a kid. I also remember being young and loathing Hercule, everything from his antics to his design to his feeling like he was ruining the tone of the story.

Hey nice difficulty doto, do they make it for men?
Hercule Satan actually has more combat prowess than we ever get to see. For example, although it was a flashback scene, he does successfully evade a pre-Babidi altered Spopovitch's attacks before knocking him out of the ring. He also has Texas-sized balls of steel, because he stood up to Kid Buu when all else seemed lost. I doubt he realizes if he just applies himself, with Gohan and Goku helping him, he could be a legit badass.
If you're able to pull off the other Techniques (not just with Hercule, but everyone) the game is easier... Still pretty difficult, but easier nonetheless since some Techniques do *insane* amounts of damage!
Also, if able, you should give Budokai 2 a play! It's really unique compared to most _Dragon Ball Z_ games at that time! 👍😃

Everyone always makes fun of Hercule, but they forget the man is a legitimate martial artist and the strongest/most skilled human who doesn't know how to manipulate ki in the series.

Hercule is a fighter he just isn't at that super human level that other DBZ/S characters are.
By normal standards he would be able to defeat regular humans. I'm sure if someone gave him some kind of proper training, he'd probably learn how to fly and fight the same way everyone else eventually learned how to but Hercule just doesn't do that so...
I actually saw a video about Hercule vs entire ufc roster and his feats shows his strong enough to wash em all lol

It took Doto 24 hours and 20 minutes to figure out that he's just gotta punt the Cell Jr's like a football.
