The fingers result was especially surprising, even with a mistake dropping that 5th I wouldn't have thought he couldn't get it back up. Hopefully he can just take tomorrow in enjoy the atmosphere and make a core memory. Then it's time for a well deserved break to enjoy the spoils of his career and spend time with his family. I don't think we should feel anything negative about Brian's performance. Even with things not panning out for an overall victory, he's still making history and showing us how impressive he is. 41 years old, making the final after a massive stone-off (11! Big up Rauno), still able to put up numbers competitive with the top ten in the world. Nobody beats time, and everyone learns that eventually, but he has give us almost two decades of excitement. If anything I am looking forward to see him finish out his competition career and move forward with other aspects of the sport and other sports. One end, one beginning.

      @lyrand6408 Рік тому +2

      And _this_ is exactly what I lot of people don't get, of the ones I see negatively commenting on his performance. It's insane to think he'd do as good now in his 40s as he did back in his prime. However, even at his age his performance is _well fucking beyond_ the vast majority of humans on this planet. Any men watching this comfortably eating some Sneakers on their couch should STFU or go to the gym and give it a try themselves. I'll defend Brian and any athlete past their primes performing like this. He's still in better shape and more capable than a lot of arrogant kids in their 20s and 30s.
      Similar situation with Luke Stoltman, absolute machine, same with Mark Felix; to me they are the true inspirations.

    Its really interesting and big thanks to eddie for his work. In this day and age not live streamed is strange. I wish all the competitors the best. Im sad for pavlo loosing what he did on event 1. As he was going for the europe 's strongest man and WSM in the same year. I think it knocked him only doing 4 reps in the deadlift, but he got it back with all 5 fingers in event 3. A podium you never no but the shield carry has really done him i feel. Rules are rules and pavlo should have known to be fair, having oleksi thare as a fellow ukrainian i hope helps pavlo, this being his 1st WSM final. Oleksi is a great competitor. Cant fault him at anything. Its shaping up for a cracking final day. Oleksi, mitchell, trey, tom, i hope brian has a strong finish and pavlo, shame about the weather but the guys just got on with it, fair play. Again thanks eddie for your coverage right through the qualifiers and this the final. Someone has to pick up the coverage of this. I love Brian, I was rooting for him, I still am rooting for him and cheering him on, if nothing more to have fun, enjoy the whole event and I cannot sugar coat it, even if he does not want to feel bad for the last couple events. He is one of a kind as a person and not a lot of people can say they are the strongest man in the world, but he is four times! Does NOT matter if he looses, simply because no one has 5x, so he is still top strong man in history! And thanks to Eddie! Shame the event is not streamed, so I have to come to Eddie the Beast! Both of them are living legends!

  • @didntgetthejobatfruitloops4449

    Is there no way to stream this live? I saw it was coming out on TV in may but they’re missing out big time but not making this a live-streamed event. Way more traction and attention that way

    tbh, they should've had it be a circle like in ASC instead of turning back and forth for the shield carry.
    WSM just really needs to step their game up, many people who are there have shared that the experience is terrible despite the money. Bad inperson, no streaming, they need to change or we should stop supporting.

    Brian hasn't been top shelf at loaded carries (shield, Conan's wheel, loaded medley etc) for quite a while now and that's probably going to cost him a podium unfortunately. Still, be a 4x WSM and being in the top 10 strongest men in the world for over 15 years is quite the achievement to say the least.
    Mitch Hooper looks to be unbeatable.
