Hello! This is the first video I have made about a notable news event in the greater World of Warships community. Some BIG names just left the PC Community Contributor program and I briefly discuss the circumstances and offer a quick take on my feelings about it as a veteran player, as well. I feel like Legends players might want to keep an eye on how this situation is handled by Wargaming - so far, it hasn't been very pretty. We all live under their roof and there could be some spillover from this event - for good or for ill - into Legends.
As a current and only console Legends player, I can tell you, I concur with all you have said about the PC/CC walkout. Keep up the great content! I hope the former PC/CC's find peace and hope with their situations.
Subbed Bro. I left PC and went to the console version because to me, the PC version just seems so..... bloated. I want to just log in to have a blast, the console version just feels more casual to me.
Thanks for the sub, Cody! Your timing is somewhat uncanny, because I just watched the WoWS PC video update today with Dasha and I could not believe how long it went on. World of Tanks PC got pretty overwhelming when they introduced the bonds and all kinds of other stuff and I really agree with you that ships is moving in the same direction now with subs, Tier XI, etc, etc. I like to jump on and play PC from time to time (I have 3 accounts there), but I find myself playing a lot less and console consistently more - though making content is part of the reason, too. Legends is still in a comparatively good spot. We just got carriers at the beginning of this year and they are not OP, and I'm hoping that consoles will not be able to handle the addition of subs and the amount of map reworking that they've had to do on PC above and below the water to accommodate them. If you are a PC vet, you will be able to pick up Legends quite smoothly. Only 9 players a side and the squished tiers from 10 to 8 are my least favorite things, but the game at its core is still very fun to me. They keep saying we will be able to cross play div between XBOX and PC down the road and get true clan content beyond just a tag at some point. It will be a good time to pick up a premium or two during the upcoming holiday sales and they have coupons like PC now, too. I rarely buy regular priced Legends premiums because they run about 30% more expensive than PC for the same ship for some reason, but I do buy premium time on sale and the Campaigns are usually really good deals on the ships and lots of other boosts if you like and will play the ship that is offered. Two premiums for $6 (the cost for basic Admiralty Backing and grinding out the milestones) is a screaming deal for the equivalent of a Tier V and Tier VIII on PC! Anyways, thanks for finding the channel and let me know if you have any questions I can help you with!
Yeah I am on the same page as you are Vann with the CC exodus. I think it should have been addressed better by Wargaming and resolved. Sometimes, companies just care about the money and not really about the people which is truely sad.
Thanks for checking this out, Dark. As a business owner myself, I have found that I cut slack for WG over the years more so than a lot of other folks. I do get that they need to make money. I do get that organizations and corporate cultures are harder to manage and can experience pains as they grow. However, as you note, there is a tipping point where you have to look in the mirror and ask yourself if you are doing the right thing by putting probably the most highly sought after piece of WoWS content (USS Missouri) of all time into a random loot box - as the only way to get it! That's a clear cut, no, for so many reasons. You also have to ask yourself if you've treated this core group of Community Contributors, who did as much or more than your marketing department in the early years to grow the game, with the respect they deserve recently. If you feel like you need to evolve and change the CC role to more of a livestreaming/code distributor and no longer seek game development feedback from it, that's great! Just have the class to tell the CC's that to their faces and make the appropriate adjustments to the program and roster, instead of just stringing them along or being rude. Put simply, treat other people like you would want to be treated. At the end of the day, World of Warships is such a fun game - partly due to the efforts and talents of the CC community. I just hate to see it falter when it doesn't have to be that way!
@@VannKrakenGaming very well said. I totally agree that the years of the game have made Wargaming ignorant or lacking to change with it's CC's. The people in the program for CC need to feel a connection to the Wargaming staff and higher ups. Also the rest of the community should ideally be tied into the CC's and communicating with Wargaming as necessary but it does not seem to have done that.
Well, I think the CC program changed in Wargaming's view as time went on, but they either were afraid to, or didn't care to address that with the original (and inherently most vocal, iChase, Flamuu, etc) group of CC's. They no longer wanted opinions from CC's, they just wanted them to promote the game and hand out codes during livestreams. You are 100% correct, though, that everyone is better off with clear communication and expectations, as well as a sense of connection and respect. Somewhere, those concepts got left behind, I think.
Yes, in the wrong hands that is exactly where capitalism goes, unfortunately. Not in all, but in some. I can only think of a few areas so far that we've seen this recent PC behavior in Legends. 1) Kii only available in a loot box. 2) I think you can only get the Shinonome in the Treasure Hunt box at the end by chance (unless you own all of the other ships that can drop in the special box) that you have to buy for like 9,000 something dubs to finish off the 150 keys. 3) The ridiculous grinding time cost to get a nerfed Missouri in Steel. You CAN earn it, but the amount of time it would take to do so quickly is basically an insult to the player base and our collective intelligence. Hope you are doing well and thanks for stopping by!
@@VannKrakenGaming Yeah - I am currently saving my steel, not for Missouri, but for the next steel ship, I feel like all you get is an Iowa, w/ radar (w/ slow reload I don't think radar is as useful), that can make a tad more credits. Not different enough in my view. As far as the steel earnings, I would be ok w/ it except I despise ranked when its not a weekend sprint for some reason. Maybe its because you play for an hour or two, and I feel like I basically go nowhere. IDK I feel like they need to add a third rotating mode. I love arena whenever its rotated in. Thanks and Keep making great vids !
You nailed the Ognevoi and the Lenin - I forgot about both those. I think they both wound up being earnable - or maybe you had to do crates for the last part of the Lenin Ice Breaker Coins? But if you have to play 350 games or more to earn the item it's just ridiculous. Especially when it was something you had to do over and over like Rust 'n Rumble. Again, I don't mind paying $6 - $8 after the doubloons you earn back in the Campaigns given that you get the ship and a bunch of other useful stuff, but this Treasure Hunt case of having to spend 9,000+ doubloons on a chance to pull Shinonome (which is not all that spectacular anyway) at the end is just lame.
Thank you for the encouragement! I have a Missouri on PC and it was worth the Free XP grind back in the day for the monster credit earning potential (which I think they are going to wind up nerfing one way or another), but I totally agree it is not worth busting your butt for on the Legends version. I think people who love Iowa or have to have Missouri for historical reasons are going to be very happy with her, but others are going to think really? This is it after all of that grind?
How the heck are you? I hope things are well with you and your family. Judging by the look of the Reddit page for World of Warships PC at this moment, I believe your comment is right on. Seems like there have been articles published on Yahoo, Kotaku, and other sites on this situation now. I hope this is a turning point for better things to happen and more clear communication going forward.

I think things seem to be calming down a little bit - except for the addition of submarines to Random/Standard battles!

That's how capitalism works ! 😐 Unfortunately, it's sad to see. I really hope this doesn't bleed over into legends
