Im African American and this group despite what you call them was a top soul group of the 60's and 70's. What a great talent. You cannot find music like this anymore. Coltrane, Stan Getz, Dave Brubeck, Credence Clearwater Revival, Jimmy Hnedrix, Earth Wind and Fire. All gone and can only be duplicated but never mastered. I was only a kid during the 70's but what a wonderful time it was.

I too am african american and this group was played everyday in my house especially this song because we had the Young Rascals greatest hits. This is one of my favorites along with a girl like you. and Good Loving and Groovin and its a Beautiful Morning were played quite a bit on black radio. CCR, the Carpenters(who sang the original Superstar that Luther covered and made his) Doobie Bros. @@lastnamefirst4035 ---- Back in the 60s, there were some black radio stations (most of them in cities with large African American populations) that played Motown music and other R&B African American artists from other labels that did not get played on the major radio stations that played Rock & Pop music. After hearing their music on the radio, I remember when my brother & sister bought some 45s of The Rascals' songs (" Groovin", "Good Luvin" and "How Can I Be Sure") and played the heck out of those records; and then seeing them play on the Ed Sullivan Show was such fun--- those were some memorable times and great music--- the Rascals were such a talented group.

These guys are far from forgotten, trust me. Was fortunate to have seen them on the Once Upon A Dream reunion tour, as well as a couple of times over the years from back in the 60's. Internal fighting sadly destroyed the band yet once again after the 2013 reunion.

These 4 guys remind me of Paul McCartney, Dennis Wilson (Beach Boys), Davy Jones (Monkees). and Howard Kaplan ( The Turtles).
These guys were so very very talented with some brilliant harmonies.
I loved ''Groovin''. I played it here half an hour ago and heard it for the first time in thirty years or so.
Been chillin' since then listening to the sounds of a group I miss so much....along with my youth.

Great music from a magnificent band. I heard that The Rascals were so much into the spirit of the times that they at some point would not perform for a show if the audience did not have a significant number of blacks in attendance. Probably a bad marketing decision, but what heart!!! Respect to the max: from another African American!!!
