- This is my Arcane Netflix Series Review, where I discuss Act 3 or Episodes 7-9 of this amazing show that has finally come to an end on Netflix. What is your Arcane Series Review or Reaction? Tensions between two cities boil over as new inventions threaten revolution. In Piltover, Hextech democratizes magic, in Zaun, a drug transforms humans into monsters as Arcane brings some of League of Legends' famous champions to life.
Arcane dives into the delicate balance between the rich city of Piltover and the seedy underbelly of Zaun. Tensions between these city-states boil over with the creation of hextech - a way for any person to control magical energy - in Piltover; and in Zaun, a new drug called shimmer transforms humans into monsters. The rivalry between the cities splits families and friends as Arcane brings life to the relationships that shape some of League of Legends' famous champions including Vi, Jinx, Caitlyn, Jayce and Viktor. Based on the world behind the game League of Legends, the animated event series features a complex world filled with moral decisions, breathtaking animation and suspenseful storytelling.

Easily the best show on netflix this year.
I would say best animated series on Netflix this year. For me the best in total was squid game, I liked both similarly but considering how arcane already had 10 plus years of fanbase and squid game is new.
@@user-lq2nu6cn7y tbh, I wasn't all that impressed by squid game. It could possibly be because I am already used to that stuff, but one way or another, it was not more than 8/10. This one is easily between 9.5 and 10.
@@user-lq2nu6cn7y Arcane for me better as well. Emotions I had in Animated series were a lot stronger then irl series. And that s saying something. Nit saying that Squid Game wasn t emotional tho
@@danielsmid3777 very true. One of the greatest advantages of animation is that due to animations utilization of more dramatic expressions it can make emotions that would feel overly melodramatic in live action feel completely natural.

Riot Games produced the series and decided to divide it that way, Netflix did nothing but distribute the product.

Netflix agreed to launch it weekley because they saw the potential it had and took the opportunity to do the experiment to see if the weekly format works. Now that they approved season 2 netflix will put money into the production, and probably want to make movies and other stuff.

Yeah I'm sure Netflix will try to push for Season 2, but ultimately only Riot Games and Fortiche Production will have a say in that decision (spoiler : 100% season 2 is happening)

@@danielsmid3777 I think it's gonna start from Piltover/Zaun and expand. There's definitely something going on with Swain and all the crows in S1. It's just my guess
Piltover Zaun arc is finished, we can go over there in the second season but it should not be the main story.

@@MysterSnowFR Those are definitely Swain's crows because in game there is an interraction between him and jinx. He states that it was all jinx's fault (Faces... fading in the flames... It was all Her fault).
This show is so crazy, this work is really excellent. It is worth everyone to watch. The motivation of each role is reasonable and the shaping of each role is just perfect

The "that's my girl" from Vander's ghost to Vi.
The "You're perfect" from dying Silco to Jinx.
They sum up this season.
The girls have made the choice of where they stand.
They are sisters who made different choices.
That ending killed me 😭 Say what you want about Slico. He was a scumbag, killer, and the list goes on. But this series made me feel for that man and his connection to Jinx. He wasn't your one dimensional villains that most series use. Silco had depth, motivation, and some development turns the end with his relationship with Jinx. When we all get that reveal that Silco is the one who was killed made that moment so heavy. Yes, he turned Jinx into a serial killer 🤣 no excuse. But the honesty he shared with her in his dying moments was so twistedly beautiful lol. He really loved that girl and accepted her in his own way. Jinx wasn't a tool and Silco wasn't lying at all. Vi didn't understand Jinx because she was still attracted to the idea of "Powder". Ekko ((Who is the MVP of the series)) even stated that "Powder" is gone but the look on Vi's face couldn't handle that realization. I was crying at the end of that episode because the emotional tension was so high 😢. Damn you Silco for making me feel like that lmao 🤣.
He managed to make us care for an evil crimelord. He showed us. He showed us all.
@@Xorkuss Absolutely 💯. I know from the outside looking in he was just an evil person but he was more. The betrayal of his brother changed him but the love of Jinx mended whatever hole Vander left. Flooding the undercity with Shimmer was despicable but his endgame was independence for the same city he crippled. He was a demented savior who had eyes for a better future, it just that his path was paved in destruction. That's what made caring for him in the final moments so conflicting. You understand why he's like that AKA "The Monsters WE Created". Understanding his descent into darkness makes it that much more powerful. Even though he was a HORRIBLE person Silco had love in his cold heart and in his eyes that love was PURE. When he said "I was never gonna give you up for them. I would've let them all burn." With so much conviction he stayed true to her and his beliefs. He would never abandon her no matter what.

He was speaking from his soul that I felt that shit. Hats off to the writer 👏 🙌 👍 👌
Same here. It reminds me of how I felt about Punisher up until that rooftop scene in Netflix Daredevil. I never understood the point of the character until that moment. Understanding a villain's/anti-hero's motivation and it being justified to an extent makes them so much better.
The part when he realized how difficult was to Vander, about taking care of the kids, when he supposed to give jinx to be arrested, i got broken... It was so sad to see, when he understands Vander's side
Exactly, VI just didn’t understand her anymore. If she could only have accepted VI for what she is!
I really loved the moment when Silco realises why Vander did what he did, while sitting next to his memorial and thinking if their dream is worth a life you care about 🥺 In the end he died the same way Vander did.. and for what he died for..
this has to win many awards. a phenomenal series, so good!
The best animated show of all time and easily one of the best shows ever. Need season 2 of this masterpiece right now.

What can I say! I am hooked. That god damn writing is so good. Backed up with superb voice acting, kick ass art and animation style, we have a winner.
Honestly I haven’t seen a show for a while that emotionally wreaked me this much for a while throughout the season, literally every character got depth and motivation, gorgeous animation, and creative af fight sequences
I'm not the same without arcane this show WILL leave a void in my heart forever
Most emotional moment? Silco telling Jinx "don't cry" & "you are prefect". He really loved her, his daughter ❤
The last few episodes reminded me of GOT with how the show focused on different characters' POVs. Yet unlike GOT, I think every chatacter's story arcs were engaging til the end. Hoping for season 2
Congratulations Riot and Fortiche, you've made the best video-game adaptation of all time and one of the best shows of all time.
Some of the best-animated stuff I have seen all year. Probably my favorite, the animation style is so slick and the soundtrack demands total attention. Nailed it, hope there is more.

This show was just phenomenal! I was always engaged in the tension and many times the characters did certain actions i wasn´t expecting at all, even though i play LoL and know quite a bit of the lore. Give us season 2 pls!

One thing i can say after finishing the series is . . . I effin love silco, i thought he was this one dimensional scumbag of a villain in the beginning but after 9 episodes i was wrong, when he talked to vanders statue my image of him changed well it already kind of changed since act 2 but act 3 really was. . .wow idk what to say. And jinx, i just cant see her the same way i did before arcane. Also when she sat in the chair after. . .ya know, it was so powerful. The writing, camera work, animation, voice acting. . .just everything about the last act was so good.
Note about Jinx and Ekko fight /Ekko is "A prodigy from the rough streets of Zaun, Ekko manipulates time to twist any situation to his advantage. Using his own invention, the Zero Drive, he explores the branching possibilities of reality to craft the perfect moment"

As u said the show is fantastic n that cliffhanger nearly made my cry (knowing We don’t have a date for S2 yet). As a fan of the game that knows the lord on the last episode is full of Easter Eggs for S2, that has us extremely excited. Now u should check the League of Legends Cinematics there are short but with great animations n except for spoilers the look of character n fighting style. I truly recommend them for u to check specially “Warriors” n Ekko cinematic.
I am a huge fan of Jinx’s character arc. A phenomenal villain.
If you enjoyed her,I suggest you check out her lore in League of Legends(unless you read it already),you will fall in love.
Arcane is the single best animated series that I have seen in YEARS!
It is by far the single best series/film based on a video game property ever made. It is remarkable.
Arcane oozes with a sense of style and bombasity that is contageous from start to finish. Sucking you into the fascinating world that is the engineering marvel of Piltover and depths of Zaun lurking in the shadows below, all while showcasing the corrupt politics that attempt to keep both countries from the brink of collapse. This occurs as it interweaves a complex web of character relations and conflicts meanwhile the clock is ticking in the background that only leads to the strengthening and crumbling of relationships overtime. Some characters experience extreme growth as the show continues onward, whereas most others descent into a hellish madness as the series continues forward. This ultimately leads to a multitude of fight sequences that occur throughout the series which carry a heavy weight of emotion and importance between every punch that is thrown.
Ontop of all of this, the show exists with an almost painterly quality to the artstyle that gives it one of the most unique but also visually gorgeous designs that I have ever seen since the release of Spiderman: Into the Spiderverse. Every single frame of this show is a painting worthy of being hung on someone’s wall.
I will say tho. It ends on a killer cliffhanger. One that screams a sequel needing to be made. Which thank god season 2 has already been greenlit.
You are doing yourself a SERIOUS disservice if you sleep on this show just because it’s associated with League of Legends. Arcane absolutely stands on the weight of it’s own merits and can be easily enjoyed by anyone. Even those who have never played a single second of LoL in their lives, which I am a part of.
Season 2 cannot come soon enough.

Well as one said above Netflix (not to take anything away from them) didn’t have anything to do with the story and animation, only distributed it. Riot games did it completely. Mind boggling but they money is video games insane.
The shwo and the game is two different things. If you want more of what Arcane offers then read the lore and backstories of the 150+ champions in League of Legends. For starters, you can read the champions that are in Piltover and Zaun. One of my favorites lore wise is fiddlesticks.
Animated series are my jam. I’m not a huge League of Legend gamer, but I really appreciate the narrative.

My 70 year old parents loved Arcane. To say that its target audience is only people familiar with league of legends is just intellectually dishonest. The target audience is everyone
Snippets on Ep8: Noxus is the most brutal empire in Runeterra. I have a feeling that it was Darius who killed Mel’s brother. Jayce’s weapon is called Mercury hammer/cannon and it can do melee and range attacks. We also see him do one of his LOL skill, the lightning field. We also saw Vi did his Vault Breaker skill at 31:49
Noxus is brutal but also fair. If you're strong or skilled in anything, it doesn't matter where you come from, you will be welcomed there.

the thing that hit me that i loved about that is she'd already decided she was jinx she knew she could never go back and all she wanted from vi was for vi to love and accept her despite of being jinx.. love her for who she was now.. the expectation of vi wanting her to be powder again was just too much too unfair to her.. and that was her need that got fulfilled by silco
its so empathetic and representative of those who are chronically insane all they want is to lessen their guilt and torture of being helplessly insane by at leeeasst being recognised and accepted as they are by their loved ones or just anyone someone 💔
if there's a next season, i hope jinx and vi reconcile because jinx is a traumatized girl who needs her sister..

Snippets ep9: at 22:01 we see Vi’s Blast Shield skill. At 34:58 we see Jinx with her cannon named Fishbone and at 35:24 she used her ultimate called Super mega death rocket. At 36:12 we see Singed sitting and at the foreground a person/beast he is creating, that is Warwick and I have a feeling that was Vander base on the beard alone.
Now that I finished Arcane, another excellent show of 2021. I can’t decide if I want like it more than Invincible, becoz theyre both so well written

I've been watching anime and animated shows since 1978-80ish starting with Star Blazers. This has been one of my all time favs beating out GITS, Akira and Evangelion...whole package.

damn, like i know it wouldn't be sunshine and rainbows like it used to with vi and jinx, but i only hoped that vi would still carry that burden together with jinx, still having that connection even if they're on opposite sides
My prediction on s2
1) Mel dies, Jayce and Mel mom will want war
2) jinx is the new head of undercity but people will regard as being too chaotic and Singed will be the "savior" and introduce his new monster
3) within the war, somehow ekko got a gemstone and heimdinger and him work which will introduce his ability in the game
4) hextech weapon/Signed shimmer and monster/ekko green energy attract a new villain who wants weapon, the person who kill Mel brother
5) cait/ vi/ jayce will be on one side
Jinx/singed/vikror on one side
New monster/ekko/heimdinger one side
now we want another series! you should look up the characters in league and just base off the way they look what characters youd wanna see next

I really loved this show I think some of it felt a bit rushed at the end. Maybe another 30 minuets across the 3 episodes would have been enough to slow down a touch and tie all the threads together a bit more satisfyingly. But it’s still a 10/10. Bring on season 2 regardless of if it’s still about piltover and zaun or some other faction.
Jinx is now fully jinx, hope they show how crazy she has become next season if there is one.

The ending was so flicking sad.
My absolute favorite thing about this show is that it has an incredible art style and animation and it doesn't have an absolutely shit frame rate. Looking at you, Into the Spiderverse, Dragon Prince, and who knows how many other animated/cg shows that just dont fucking get that poor framerate makes your show/movie look like shit.

Best debut tv show of 2021
Finale was definitely my favorite moment in the show. So often shows don't stick the landing. I thought the ending was perfectly done, completely satisfying, and the best ending I can remember since breaking bad. Music, pacing, the tragedy, and completely concluding the main story arc of Powder transitioning completely into Jinx. I think the people who are of the opinion the ending left on a "cliffhanger" don't appreciate the purpose and main story of this show - which was the origin of Jinx. What happens next in the war between Piltover and Zaun is a different story.
even though i'm pessimistic that jinx and vi would happily reunite, but at least i want jinx to find her own comrades, and her own sets of values and people to protect in upcoming seasons (maybe people who knows the game lore can tell me more about this). maybe finding a middle ground between her and vi. Its just kind of unfair to me that vi got caitlyn beside her that comforts her on the guilt she felt towards jinx, but jinx literraly only has silco (which is the worst person you could ever hope for)

Best animated show in recent memory? Ah... how about all of animated history. Because I'm feeling fucking empty after that incredible high of Arcane. It is the best animated show I have ever watched.

So season 2 probably gonna love and war with Mel mom and jayce and caitlyn grieving and the fact vi has to regain her heart after she didn't mourn the death of the chembaron child. So vander as Warwick may remind her if she use it to reach to save him from singed and his feral no state. But if vi and caitlyn are to have a future she needs to make a clear stance of jinx and caitlyn needs to accept jinx as family or else the only relationship vi and caitlyn can have is as partners with benefits nothing more nothing less.
I hope it shows more regions and more champions.

It's no hype here just simple original artistry on an elite level. It's a 10 out of 10 the details bring a tear to my eyes on how incredibly perfect the images all shine. This is how God felt when he made the first human.
This show has given us some major characters that rival Marvel and DC characters Jinx, Ekko and etc...
To be fair,the show hasn't given us Jinx nor Ekko,they existed for many years, before it,but the show added a lot more to their character.

Netflix better not cancel this show. It has potential to be a massive franchise like the MCU if handled with care by the creators.

After sico death I don’t see jinx ever abandoning this new version of her self to honor sico her new father . He even on his death still showed her loved her. If she ever tries to be be powder again I think she will feel like she’s dishonoring her father who accept her for who she is . We’ll vi treated powder like her chaos is bad . Sico saw beauty in her chaos .

Well no you don't have to play the game but if you like the story telling i recommend checking out the more. There are a lot of good stories in the lore of League of Legends that won't spoil Arcane for you.
