I completely reversed my diabetes (type II) following Dr. Jamnadas's advice. My Metformin dosage has gone to zero mg per day from almost the highest dosage. My blood pressure came down to 110/80. My resting heart rate is around 70. I am doing intermittent fasting daily. I am eating plant-based food. I hike 6 to 8 miles a day. I run 3 to 6 miles too. I completed a 65-mile hike around Mont Blanc in June 2023. I am the healthiest person in my entire life. I am 68 years old Indian-American. Many, many thanks to Dr. J.

The best thing you can eat for your microbiome is to spend some time eating nothing at all! This kills off the negative bacteria and helps the positive ones (which often feed on them) to help entrench themselves in your gut! Some benefits of doing occasional extended fasting: High blood pressure is lowered to normal levels very quickly while fasting. Fibrosis/scarring is reversed over time, including in the heart and lungs.
Fasting increases T cell production and regenerates the thymus. T cells are vital in fighting cancer, autoimmune disease and infections but as we age the thymus stops making as many of them. Fasting releases stem cells, which then can become new T cells. Fasting also releases growth hormone, which regenerates the thymus itself, which aids this process!
Fasting stimulates phagocytosis, the ingestion of bacteria, plaques and viruses by the immune system. This will also remove any spikes, whether natural or unnatural in origin!
Blood sugar and insulin are lowered when fasting, allowing white blood cells to move more freely throughout the body and do their job.
Vitamin D plasma levels are increased as fasting improves metabolic health, and vitamin D in turn increases autophagy.
Fasting restores your circadian rhythm to normal over time.
    Fasting increases nitric oxide release.
Fasting restores NAD+ to healthy levels.
Reflexes and short term memory are increased.
Fasts from 36-96 h increase metabolic rate due to norepinephrine release!
Telomeres are lengthened and fasting also increases anti-aging Yamanaka factors.
After 72 hours or more fasted, your body recycles up to 1/3 of all immune bodies, rejuvenating your entire immune system. This helps prevent the onset of new autoimmune conditions, which develop through a leaky gut and damaged immune system.
Fasting can help with MS, Depression, BPD, Autism and seizures.
Thymus is regenerated, which suppresses aging and renews the immune system. The thymus also plays a vital role in fighting cancer.
Weight loss from daily caloric restriction has 1/4 to 1/3 of the weight lost as lean tissue while many studies show fat loss from 36 h fasts without losing any lean tissue!
The obese will lose extra tissue like loose skin while fasting, but the skinny or frail will have increased growth hormone release than the obese, which helps to make more lean tissue and reduce frailness.
When you move out of MTOR your body shuts down the building blocks of the cell required for viruses to replicate.
What breaks a fast? Anything with protein or carbohydrates in it will break a fast. Most teas and herbs are OK. Most supplements and meds will either break ketosis directly or contain a filler that will. Many meds are dangerous to take while fasting.
Does fasting lower testosterone? No, it raises it when the fast is broken by increasing lutenizing hormone. Fasting also increases insulin sensitivity, which helps with muscle building.
Fasts of 36-96 will not affect short term female fertility or affect menstrual cycle. They also may increase long term fertility, especially in women with PCOS.
Fasting reduces pain and anxiety by stimulating the endocannabinoid system in a similar way to CBD oil.
One day of fasting can cut your leptin levels in half and gets your immune system working properly again! This reduces leptin resistance, which impairs immune function.
Stomach acid is reduced over time while fasting and can allow for the healing of treatment resistant ulcers. Some patients may need continued acid reduction medication while fasting.
Does the body preferentially prefer glucose as a fuel? No. Except for brief periods of very intense exercise, your body mainly burns fats in the form of free fatty acids. Your brain also prefers to burn ketones at a rate of around 2.5 to 1 when they are available in equal quantity to glucose.
Fasting stimulates the AMPK complex and activates autophagy. Autophagy (literally self eating) will cause cells to recycle damaged proteins and foreign matter such as viruses. It will can kill cancerous and senescent cells
Lowering insulin via fasting virtually eliminates chronic inflammation in the body.
It increases mitochondrial function and repairs mitichondrial DNA, leading to improved ATP production and oxygen efficiency. Increased mitochondrial function also has the added benefit of increasing your metabolism, fighting infection and cancer prevention!
Fasting releases BDNF and NGF in the blood which stimulates new nerve and brain cell growth. This can help a great deal with diseases like MS, peripheral neuropathy and Alzheimers.
When not in ketosis, the brain can only burn carbohydrate, which produces a great deal of damaging ROS the brain has to deal with.
Fasting also increases telomere length, negating some of the effects of aging at a cellular level.
When you fast, this stimulates apoptosis in senescent or genetically damaged cells, destroying them. Senescent cells are responsible for many of the effects of aging and are a root cause of the development of cancer.
A fasting mimicking diet for 3-5 days in a row also provides many of the same benefits as water fasting. FMD usually has 200-800 calories, under 18 g of protein and extremely low carbs.
Exogenous ketones can aid with fasting, making it easier in healthy people and allowing some people with specific issues to fast in spite of them without worrying as much about hypoglycemia. They also help with dementia and many other issues even if you take them while not fasting!
Glycine and trimethylglycine can also be useful supplements while fasting that won't break ketosis and have many benefits.
Children, pregnant or nursing women should not fast for periods longer than 16 hours. People with pancreatic tumors or certain forms of hypoglycemia generally cannot fast at all. Type 1 diabetics can also fast but it is more complicated and should be approached with caution as it could lead to ketoacidosis. If you experience extreme symptoms of some kind, especially dizziness or tremors, then simply break the fast and seek advice.

I fasted first and decided on doing the 8hr window. Didn't know anything about fasting just knew it could help me lose weight. So I was 295 6'1 i was drinking a bottle of bourbon a night. I stopped drinking and started the fast. Tried to do it every other day but it was difficult to keep that in order so it turned into all week while working then after a couple months of that schedule I was feeling amazing energy and never stopped burning ketones started to eat once a day. Over the course of 6-7 months I lost 100 pds. The things I experienced were amazing. I had a spiritual awakening during the fasting. Long story short I searched for what I experienced I figured I couldn't have been the only person. I found dr j. He was able to explain everything I was in awe of his knowledge. I felt like he was describing me to the audience in his fasting for survival video. This man is 💯accurate. You can see the energy he has and that's from the fasting level he is on. I'm going to get a tattoo of his face. Love this man. He is the greatest human ever! Stay hungry!!! Fasting is the key. It's the fountain of youth omad!! Now I'm only going to eat stewed foods.

Dr Jamnadas is 100% correct. Since I've increased my fiber intake and eating many varieties of fermented foods, my mental clarity has gone through the roof. I am sleeping like a baby, awakening with more energy and have a better outlook on life. A complete workup from the Cleveland Heart Clinic revealed better than expected results. Mind you, I am 70 years old and haven't been on any meds of any type, even over-the-counter meds for over 12 years. Eating raw, sprouted, organic when available, grass fed/finished, wild caught and avoiding junk foods is key.

Fibre foods, all beans, lentils, fruits and vegetables, figs. Just google or type fiber foods here on UA-cam and a lot will come up for you to pick a choice suitable for you, you have to do the research and experiment. People complain about beans and gas, yes beans will give you a lot of gas but you have to educate your stomach to eat beans slowly everyday, and eventually you will not experience the gas issues anymore. But gas is good, it is a natural daily event that occurs in our bodies. 😅 I hope this helps. I am speaking from my UA-cam experience with the information I have used from here. Good luck and may you be inspired and led by the spirit of the Lord ❤

You are 100% correct about our addiction to sugar. I WEIGHED 275 LBS IN SEPTEMBER 2019. WITH SHEER DISCIPLINE AND A DEEP DESIRE FOR CHANGE IN MY HEALTH AND WEIGHT, I RELEASED 140 LBS NATURALLY IN LESS THAN 2 YEARS. I didn't even incorporate exercise (light yoga, pilates) in my routine until I released 110 lbs. I feel amazing in my body. I released the sugar and grains, drank a gallon of water a day, and slept 7-9 hours a night. I eat meat, nuts, vegetables, eggs, seeds, seafood, healthy fats, and very little berries. I don't snack between meals and intermittent fast. God gave me a second chance at life, and it is my desire to be of service to others. I am a certified health and life coach, and I would love to partner with you!

🎯 Key Takeaways for quick navigation:
00:25 🦠 *The human body has about 100 trillion bacteria, outnumbering human cells, and these bacteria play a crucial role in various physiological functions.*
02:03 🔄 *Our relationship with gut bacteria dates back millions of years; they predate humans and play a vital role in our physiology. Humans have outsourced many physiological functions to these bacteria.*
05:57 🍏 *Nature designed the introduction of bacteria, through childbirth and breastfeeding, to optimize the biodiversity of bacteria in the gut, crucial for overall health.*
08:53 ⚖️ *Gut bacteria influence the immune system, promoting a balanced response and preventing excessive inflammation, which is linkedto various chronic diseases like coronary artery disease, obesity, and depression.*
19:31 🍞 *Processed foods lacking fiber negatively impact gut bacteria, leading to metabolic endotoxemia, a condition associated with inflammation, small dense LDL particles, and the development of conditions like fatty liver and coronary artery disease.*
23:44 🍔 *Ancestral foods are crucial for metabolic health; processed foods and vegetable seed oils can harm gut bacteria.*
26:01 🐄 *Antibiotics given to animals affect their gut bacteria, leading to metabolic syndrome; humans consuming such meat may face similar issues.*
28:05 💊 *Antibiotics and a disrupted gut microbiome are linked to conditions like small intestinal bacterial overgrowth (SIBO) and obesity.*
30:18 🩸 *Fecal transplants indicate a connection between gut health and obesity; changing gut bacteria may influence body weight.*
31:13 🌾 *Increasing fiber intake through foods like inulin positively impacts the microbiome and can improve overall health.*
48:48 🍟 *Cooking food at high dry heat, like air frying, creates Advanced Glycation End Products (AGEs), harmful for the body, impacting metabolism and gut bacteria.*
51:06 🍲 *Cooking methods matter; opt for stewing, slow cooking, or using moist heat to minimize AGEs. Adding vinegar or lemon to marinate food reduces AGEs formation.*
52:30 🛒 *Avoid processed and packaged foods, as they likely contain high levels of Advanced Glycation End Products, harmful for gut bacteria and overall health.*
55:37 🌿 *Increase fiber intake for a healthier gut; supplementing with inulin plus fos (white powder) positively impacts metabolism and gut health.*
57:12 ⏰ *Intermittent fastingnot only has hormonal benefits but also positively influences the microbiome by changing the bacterial flora in the gut.*

High respect to a doctor who gives practical and useful information which most other doctors do not. I have been watching and studying this area quite a bit recently listening to many experts in gut microbiome. We need to differentiate alcohol in the form of fermented beer from antiseptic. I am not advocating that people should start to drink, but beer is also fermented food. Beer may have other things which may be harmful if consumed too much, but I do not believe it is going to kill our gut bacteria.

Dear Dr, unlike many others i spent my new year going through all of your videos. I must say the information that you have provided is pure gold. The more I listened to your videos, the more I realised how our ancestors had perfected lifestyles and diet . I am from india and your lectures make me ponder over more of what we used to do before we started opening the plastic packs. My son had been having some stomach pain , hard bowel, multiple visits to poop, each poop time is 15mins odd n anxiety issues since quite some time mostly triggered by free flow of antibiotics courtesy short sighted treatments. Local GI suggested some painkillers for IBS . After looking at your video We have started with fermented food but seems like such issues cant be fixed overnight. One thing which we were trying out was to help him clean his bowel once in week with natural remedies like castor oil based indian ayurvedic otc meds like nityam. This has been working ok but we would like to check what is the right or most natural way of cleaning stomach. Pls suggest. Thank you so much for these videos 🙏🙏

I was able to reverse my condition within one month by following a zero-fat, sugar-free diet. My diet included fruits such as papaya, apple, and one serving of coconut water daily, as well as a variety of vegetables. Additionally, I made sure to have my dinner before sunset. The amazing thing that occur, in each time, was that exactly after 72 hours of fasting the real change started in the guts. Things started to move around and what was really interesting was the head start to have different “moves” as well.
Until now I drop 30KG of fat and also my kid started the intermittent fasting, his 11 year old, and he dropped 5.5KG by now. He stopped eating sugars in most of the days, have a sweet day each 2 weeks and he doesn’t have the craving for sugar anymore. He started at 58.5KG and now he is 53KG, took him 3-4 months. And he feels better and more mind clear.

My sister sent this to me about a week ago, and I've been trying it. Several years ago due to some health problems, and having read the book "The Omnivores Dilemma," I decided to go on a diet of fish, fowl, fruits, nuts, and vegetables. After three weeks on this diet I felt awesome! My inflammation was gone, I had a unbelievable amount of energy and mental focus. Unfortunately, I ate one snickers bar and fell off the wagon. The food was kind of boring and I needed more flavor. Now, I'm doing the same thing, only I add sauerkraut or kimchi to my meals. It's delicious! Thanks for the great content.

After listening to this lecture its a complete miracle that im still quite healthy. Growing up as a child i was in pretty much constant highly stressed environment and as i became an adult being in stress most of the time has been my default setting as its all iv known. My diet throughout my life has not been great. I completely disliked any salad fruits or vegetables. I ate a processed diet of mostly refined carbs, junk food and protein. My diet completely lacked nutritious foods and foods that this doctor has mentioned. My gut microbiome must be in a complete mess. I do suffer from slight bloating occasionally. I think iv been very lucky that i have not developed any major health issues so far. Going forward i will be completely changing my diet i will cut out all processed junk foods and eat only nutritional foods, eat fruits and vegetables, drink kefir, introduce fermented foods, i will fast 2 times a week, drink more water and practice meditation to teach my body to be in a state of relaxation and ease. I am so looking forward to see and feel the changes that will occur to my wellbeing and health.

It's never too late to take charge of your health and well being. Take one change at a time and one day at a time. Too much too fast can lead to feeling overwhelmed. Explore new foods and new recipes....think about what you can have or add to your diet, not what you can't have. The bad stuff will be displaced with delicious healthy foods that you will eventually prefer over junk. All the best of luck.....☺

I’m so glad you even listened to this doctor’s advise while you have no major health issue, means you care a lot about your own health and very open minded! I’m in my 40s too, and I thought I was already eating healthy, no processed food or fast foods for many years, been eating things like pastas, sandwiches, ramen, fried rice etc etc as I though I need a lot of carbs since I’m skinny by nature! Past 3 years I went though 7 rounds of IVF, got very sick from 2 Covid vaccine shots, got very sick from Covid itself, had 2 rounds of very strong antibiotics from sinus infection and UTI, finally my system crashed.. end of last year I suddenly had a “car crash” like pain in my upper body was rushed to A&E, doctors couldn’t find what’s wrong after all the scans and tests, got sent home with painkillers but ended up bedridden for several weeks! Few months later, a rheumatologist diagnosed me with rheumatoid arthritis and said I have to be on steroids for life as nothing I can do to reverse the disease! My immune system turned against me and was wanting to destroy me by mistake! I thought backwards and realised why this happened, exactly what this doctor said, also my mom didn’t eat well when pregnant with me, she took lots of antibiotics while carrying me, I was a breech baby through natural birth so major emotional trauma started there, I grew up eating rubbish as my mom knew nothing about nutrition, I grew up being highly stressed in fight/flight mode, didn’t trust anyone, always stressed and high alert, didn’t feel the world is a safe place etc! I then realised I was still eating wrong despite thinking I ate “healthy”, I totally neglected all the bacteria in my gut and that’s how I screwed up my immune system and got so unwell! These few weeks I started eating big bowl of different types of boiled vegetables (easier to digest) every meal, boiled/steamed sweet potatoes as my carbs, and nibbling on some fruits for the natural sugar. I swear I feel my whole body healing tremendously! I will slowly add in some small amount of good quality protein like what he mentioned in this video, and will add fermented food too! So glad you aren’t waiting to be as sick as I am or many others before making changes!! 👍😂 this info is so precious because not only we can guard our own health now, we can also totally change the life of next generation if we ever have kids.

    What a fabulous talk ...
I recently had 6 stents put in my heart and already had one from 2010.
I'm no where near the intelligence of this doctor, but I did figure out that it's our diet that's the problem.
My mothers and grandparents didn't have these problems/diseases. It has to be our diet. Eat like your grandparents and great grandparents...
    Thats the key.
    This doctor is awesome...
He speaks to you, not down to you. I have understood everything he said . Thanks doctor

I can personally testify to this. I learned my liver inflammation had returned through ultra sound. Incidentally I came across a show on Netflix called hack your health about the microbiome. And that's when my journey began with a Vitamix and a trip to the grocery store. i haven't had any labs yet, but also had really bad psoriasis on my legs that was creeping up to to my hamstrings. The worst part is when I walk with jeans white flakes fall out of my pant legs when I start walking.
Within a week it all disappeared. The redness, itching, flaking all appears to be fine. All I can see are the scars from where I would scratch so assume it's actually fine. On a side note sor far ice lost about 15 pounds

Thank you. You are an amazing lecturer. I generally have to take breaks in my learning. You had me glued for the whole talk. Bottom line, just eat real food, food is the best medicine indeed.

I'm always seeking new info from Dr j! He's the man! He was very instrumental in me changing my mindset on our natural physiology, and my relationship with food. At 50 years old, I dropped over 40 lbs , and have kept it off for 2.5 years, and weigh now what I did as a teenager, and enjoy great health. Once you understand the ROOT CAUSES of metabolic syndrome, the rest is just basically discipline, and incorporating healthy habits. It's hard to go back, once you do

Thank you Doc. God bless you.
And thanks to UA-cam AI for making a recommendation to see your videos after i watched Dr. Robert Lustig.
2022 Feb - Did the 72 hour fast gor the first time. And the last time. Actually it was a total of 110 hours as during the first 24 hours i consumed 3 cups of bulletproof coffee.
Then realized the mistake and for the next 85 hours or so, did water, blqck coffee wnd green tea only. Very empowering experience.
Since then and till date, on OMAD. And veing 45+, now giving 17 year olds a run gor their money. The weight and fat loss was mind blowing and took up HIIT workouts in June 2022.
God bless you, Doc. Keep going 🙏🏻
