Support the Channel Check out my store :) Looking for Stargate Convention Clips Go here: www.metacafe.com/channels/star... #nowplaying #series #show A Zero Point Module, often abbreviated ZPM, is a power source, created by the Ancients, capable of supplying tremendous amounts of energy. It is one of the most formidable power sources known to exist, having been developed by the Ancients several million years ago during their original habitation of the Milky Way galaxy.

They had to have manufactured those things somewhere yet the show never once referenced that idea. All they ever did was look for existing modules that hopefully weren't depleted yet. There must have been a factory or a lab or something they used as a production facility, so why not look for it?
I thought the same thing. While I was watching SGA I always assumed they would come across the factory inside the Atlantic City.😎👍
@@StargateOmega This was always my thought too. It seemed like a valid assumption that there would be a facility to fabricate them present on Atlantis somewhere. Hell, they had just about everything else there.
I bet they still had some frozen hamburger patties in one of their McAnciant restaurants lol😎👍
Because that would be like going looking for a Roman coin factory rather than the coins themselves.
I would also presume that with the discovery of atlantis they currently have the information required to build them. However, it is so incredibly far in advance of humans that there is very little chance of humanity working out how to use it in the near future. Remember humanity often failed to learn even how to use go'ould tech let alone make it; and ancient technology preplexed even the asgard.
@@StargateOmega, there had to be a production facitlity with in the city, because what do they do when flying around in space and the batteries run out. So it had to be in the city.
It always seemed shortsighted they didn’t figure out how the replicators were making them before they destroyed their planet. If nothing else, it would stand to reason doctor Weir would know how to make them as a former replicator and would give them that information.
I still believe it was a bad way to leave the fans of these great shows without taking it to the point that the Tauri (earth) . Learned how to reproduce the ZPM as this was obviously the key to the whole show to begin with. The search for the technology and power to not only unight earth but protect itself from vast orher powers. This was the biggest plot hole abandonment in the history of television.
I think, the blueprint of the ZPMs was in the Atlantian database, but they haven't found it yet. They need a search algorithm :D
@@jupamoers I am sure it was but ending the franchise without the discovery and replicating the technology? This is the worst thing they could do to the fans of the franchise. This was the goal of SG 1 from the very beginning and they failed big time to bring it to the end goal.
@@jupamoers i read somewhere that the zpm was not called that and the ancients didn't consider it to be what earth did. I think it was a reddit post tho
So you think that the Tauri becoming the most powerful race in the universe was not enough?
@@AndyRoidEU see that's just it they just wasn't there yet. They didn't defeat the Wrath they was still dealing with the Alliance and they certainly still did not master the knowledge of the Ancients. No they closed the franchise with a lot of unanswered questions.
Good video but Play at 1.25x speed. Much better.
Good advice, made it much better
New comment because I didn't want to edit the old one:
Fun fact: I'm German and they said in the translation "He's mumbling", while they said in the original "He is Canadian"
What nobody noticed was there was a switch on the bottom of the ZPM that started the recharging mode.
Hahaha 😆😆😆
This is what I dont get..the Asgard have a matter converter that can virtually make anything you want it to make.....why didn't the Tau'ri ask the Asgard to study and reverse engineer a ZPM the Tau'ri had and for the Asgard to use their matter converter to make more ZPMs for the Tau'ri.
I believe the zpm was beyond the asgard's ability to construct. The Ancients were a bit more advanced than the asgard's. Some of their technology had been lost the time.😎👍
@@StargateOmega Well, here's my thought on that. Thor downloaded the Ancient knowledge from O'Neills mind when he was using it to make the disrupter weapon. With that, the Asgard would have knowledge base to make the ZPM.
Perhaps, unless that knowledge was lost in the small confines of O'Neal's brain, or if the Ancients decided not to include that information into the ancient knowledge database.😎👍
A ZPM is way beyond anything they could replicate. It would be like asking them to use their matter converter to manufacture a black hole, it just couldn't do it.
Do you think they could make the drones?
Lol that ending
14 year old me: I want one!😄
37 year old me: I got a YETI rechargeable off grid solar battery bank. Close enough...😎
That's what I'm talking about! You can always slap a ZPM sticker on the side of your YETI lol😎👍
I like to see list of all ZPM used by SGC and Atlantis according to timeline.
That would make a great battery for an e-bike.
Hahaha😆 I want to get one of those e-bikes those are pretty cool!
And then the speed controller fails and the bike suddenly goes 20000 mph
What they should have done with this show was show us that the Earth was able to learn how to create more zero point modules and start using more of the Atlantean and Asgardian technology and uniting Earth to protect ourselves but also fulfill our duty to Shepherd the younger generations of races what they should have done was used atlantis's table that could create human form replicators and taste of the Odyssey that had the Asgard computer core they should have found some way to say that the Asgard downloaded their Consciousness into the computer they left us and then we could download their Consciousness down into new replicated bodies that were human but still had nanites that would have been interesting to bring back the Asgard
Still pretty stupid that Asgard couldnt replicate ZPM's or there was no lab to create them on atlantis that was found.
I actually forgot that this is science fiction.
I got to get a life.
Hahaha
Amazon is selling ZPM's. Capable of supplying endless amounts of energy. Pretty cool tech. Got L.A. running on one right now. No lie.
EBay has used ones for just under 5 billion each. They're not fully charged though.
@@StargateOmega Be careful though. They could be rigged to explode. Ba'hl is a sneaky little worm head.
@@StargateOmega There should be enough power left to cloak L.A.
Would it have enough power to cloak the smog? lol
@@StargateOmega The spec's of the cloak size were not published. Do me a favor and ask the Ancient's for me? Rodney probably knows too. But I assume you know some of the Ancient's. Seriously though, would it be awesome if Stargate rings really existed? They might. I'd go live with the NOX.
In some future it will exist if humanity doesn't destroy itself.
Zpms remind me of the coveted tool in the Masters of The Universe movie.
The one, Tom Paris played with? :D
This is basically a battery. Didn't the Ancient's have any means of energy production which is sustainable?
It's so weired that entire cities are powered by batteries...
It is a battery, but it's also connected to it interdimensional pocket. That produces insane amounts of energy. I think more than you could make like with a fusion generator or something of that nature.😎👍
Yeah, they really should have some kind of generator, fusion, solar, wave energy. Big Batteries are an excellent thing to store for emergencies and things like shields but really should be rechargeable. The ancients should've made the city absorb most sources of energy from the environment and store it in ZPMs and that would still make it interesting since it could take a long while to fully charge a single ZPM and it could be needed to protect the city from enemies.
@orestesmkb in the the episode the lost man or something like that, hologram McKay said the solar cells would only charge golf carts... Given that line of logic, Atlantis does (or did, in that defunct timeline) solar collection panels of some kind.
They did have an underwater drilling station, that was tethered to Atlantis. Utilizing geothermal from the magma.
Why didn't Dr. Beckett called it a Zed PM as he's Scottish and they refer to it as Zed in the UK
Good question! 😎👍
Usually I would say "Because the actor is American". But he isn't. He is scottish and living in Canada. But I think, it's because he is surrounded by Americans, so he adapted their way of speaking over time
Pfft! Everyone knows das it was zee Furlings who created ZPM in zee torch galaxy according to zee online book, Contact at Kobol.
Really, is that true? I never heard that before.
@@StargateOmega Well it is my truth of this guys version of the continued story of Stargate. His story, Contact at Kobol was really good and he perfectly was able to create an alternative version for the Twelve Colonies as being former slaves of System Lord Zeus (which actually existed in SG1) and continuing sequel stories where he makes the connection on how ZPM came to be. It's pretty good.
The Gas Man hey that works for me. Is a theory that fits the facts, they never said where the zpm came from
First
zee pee em is pronounced by Americans, zed pee em is pronounced by every other native English speaker. Pronounciation comes down to the origin of the person talking^^
Added to that comes the fact, that every single native English speaker is not able to pronounce non-English words correctly, although hearing them correctly pronounced in the native language of the words. I wonder why that is...it's not hard to pronounce correctly with a little effort.
I am from California 😎👍
The Comet Tv Channel Cut ✂ Your Show To 1x per Week 👎
Did they really? Wasn't it on 5 times a week? Are they still playing Babylon 5?
@@StargateOmega we only Get SG1 One Time A Week 👎 Cox Comunication's Comet Channel Don't Know How Far 🐙 Or Big The Cox Comunication Network Is ?! 💰 It WAS* Every Day 😠 !!! & Yes Babylon 5 On 1 Day a week as Well 👎
We get it here in California. My parents love that channel! Thought it was a great idea to have a total Syfy channel
Shit if you have direct tv you get the El Rey channel which shows both stargate sg1 and atlantis 2 episodes 5 days a week of both series....
Stargate Omega but what about the Syfy channel, channel?
Annoying editing.
