Had Britain been in a stronger political and economic position post WW2 and had Winston Churchill not felt that acquiescing to the US call for NATO to use 7.62x51mm was better than pushing for the .280 round to be adopted, there would probably have been hundreds of thousands of bullpup rifles in the 50s and 60s used by Britain and Commonwealth countries

+ÈIRE I've always wondered and have asked this question before of people who served with the Irish Defense Forces: Do they allow left handed shooters to convert their weapon to eject casings to the left? I know the AUG is capable of this, but so many militaries are so stuck in "uniformity" that it makes me question if it would be allowed. Do your marksmanship instructors give left handers a hard time when they want to convert it over and try to get them to shoot right handed?
+TideFan Yankee they don't let you but they did have a few in stock alright so the higher rank you are of course you get priority, even if you are sitting on a chair all day not using it haha
ÈIRE Yep, that's what I thought. That sucks for you all. I'm left-handed and was able to shoot the M16A1&2 as well as the M4 with no issues. Doesn't the Irish Defense Force have armorers who can convert weapons to a left hand eject? We trained to shoot with our weak side with both shouldered weapons as well as pistols, but the accuracy declined when we did. The bullpup types of weapons are a great concept but the left/right eject is an issue that needs to be addressed if all the shooters are go get the most out of them, in my personal opinion. The FN2000 ejects to the front as does the Kel-Tec RDF.

True story! I actually saw an armed security guard a few weeks back with one and I was like damn, that's a CX4 Storm, I love that gun! Why does he have one though? lol. 90% of armed security guards in SA run around with R4's.
Is the MAS 49/56 still in production? Because if so, I agree. Sure, loading with stripper clips does need some practice. But aside from that, it's the only semi automatic rifle I'd charge into war with without question.
I served 6 years in the Australian Infantry, and the F88 version of the Steyr AUG is reliable, tough, operates in most conditions (except when completely immersed in water for a long time, you have to quickly field strip it and clean it, then it works ok). The F88 does away with the picatinny rails on the receiver group that hold the sights, making the body all one piece as well as a convenient carry handle with scope. The built in scope is x1.5, iron sights on top if the scope breaks. It takes practise but good groupings are achieved at 300 meters. It is tough, you can drop it from a speeding vehicle and it won't discharge and still fire accurately. By the way, the hook part on the end of the stock is designed to break people's jaws. A good battle rifle that doesn't require a whole lot of brains to use, but it does require maintenance, unlike the AK 47 and variants.
I know nothing about guns but that 4th one is the sexiest looking firearm I've ever seen...are you sure it hasn't been brought back in time from the future by a terminator or something?
I have a Saber Styer Aug A3 and I love it! The magazine you have in that Aug isn't the standard 42 round mag. The only issue I have with the Aug is the mushy trigger inherent in a bullpups. It's a very accurate rifle and is a blast to shoot. Not bad man, not bad at all. I didn't know Styer made a pistol...consider me sold. I will say this, the Styer pistol looks an awful lot like Baretta's new offerings *Storm (aesthetically).
WHen I bought my Steyr M9A1 the retailer told me the design was a group of glock designers who developed the orig "19" we all know. They wanted to improve the design, but Glock was happy with the sales, so they went down the road to Steyr. Few talking points the grip is a few degrees slacker so your wrist locks out just as it points, allows for faster pointing once you get used to it, the grip has a metal inlay and all the pins are attached to that to increase strength, AND they have an internal safety with a key that completely immobilized the working parts so it can never fire unless properly unlocked. I really love shooting mine. The lower bore axis helps with recoil a lot
I totally agree with the STEYR AUG. I was trained on the STG77 (thats what we call the AUG) in the Austrian Army, some 35 years ago. I loved the rifle because of its ergonomics and precision. I disagree about the STEYR M9-A1. This pistol is not better than a Glock. But you are absolutly right about the marketing department of STEYR. I know the guy. He told me personaly, that he don´t like, when people beside police officiers carry handguns. He is a shmock.
+Rigel_6 Steyr Mannlicher got in conflict with the US government and was not allowed to sell guns into the US several times. Reasons for that are fake Steyr weapons in Iraq and business with Iran in 2004. All of that was pulled back later but the damage was done. I don´t think they do not know how to sell guns, they are in business for 152 years now ;)
Yea baby, the Czech Hammer is an excellent gun... Glad you also mentioned it is NOT an AK from the Czech republic. Czech republic has made a ton of great pistols and long guns. CZ comes to mind. Everything I have ever used that is made by CZ has been excellent. I actually own a Brno made Persian Mauser, a CZ-455 and a CZ75. All three are among the finest guns I have ever used and all three are ultra reliable and accurate. When ever I want a gun I would bet my life on it is either made in the Czech Republic or a Yugo (Serbian) build.
+Noble Nitro It most certainly is and I don't think it's lack of marketing. Tavors seem to just be more readily available and cost less. I have a Tavor, but it was the AUG that made me fall in love with Bullpups. Even though I have said I was done with "modern rifles" I still may get an AUG.
I personally prefer "A-U-G" rather than pronouncing it "awg" but I wouldn't turn my nose at anyone that does. I've also always thought the Tavor was much less attractive than the AUG.
The Steyer AUG is a good bullpub but it has even for a bullpup one of the most horrible triggers. For my opinion the best bullpup is the HS PRODUKT VHS2 and thats also a real underrated gun.
While serving with the Irish Army in Bosnia 2000, when US troops saw our AUG said it was the neatest rifle they ever saw and, "would be super-cool for a drive-by". Need it any other endorsement !!
I think Kel-Tec is one of the coolest gun manufacturers in the USA, for a few reasons. Now keep in mind, I said coolest, not the best. What I love about Kel-Tec is their innovation, and price. They try new things and keep improving the old things, the ksg, sub 2000 gen 1 or gen 2, I prefer gen 2 with slimmer foregrip, PMR.22 MAG PISTOL with a 30rd mag,. Made in the USA with transferable life time warranty, the sub 2000, and KSG, are soooooo much fun, I have yet to meet anyone who didnt love shooting mine.
I think it's a very niche gun. Appealing to a very specific crowd. I'd love to get one but that's just because it looks crazy. The small ammo caliber is my only turn off but then again, I don't own any firearms so what do I know, right?
Aug gets fanboyed after hard, it's a decent design but the default 1.5x donut optic is pretty painful to use at 300m. It is impressively easy to reload and operate and very easy to clear stoppages even with crummy discount NZ made blanks which have incredibly variable amounts of gunpowder. It's a decent simple assualt rifle, but the Mars-L is way better
handled a AUG a while ago for the first time. The Rifle is not nearly as stock heavy as I would have thought. Though the Trigger is absolutely terrible.

The Steyr Aug is the main gun we use in the austrian military
Jay Leimer you mean the F88/EF88 Austeyr
TJ Murphy oh shit, I guess I was incapable of telling the difference between the two words at the time. Fuck my life
Really? The AUG? I would of never thought that was underrated.
+Pry My thoughts exactly.
+Pry yes it is. A friend of mine has one. The accuracy is average at best and the trigger is terrible at least a 12 lb pull.
LazyTanks same
RJF1966 it has a 1.5 kg pull (~3 lbs)
I'm with you 100%
If it weren't for the price, I'd own an AUG. Eventually, I imagine I'll buy one
Same here I like the one that can accept AR mags
@@yuriboots The OD green looks pretty cool too, but I'm definitely going to go with the white finish when I finally purchase an Aug.
Im from austria and when i was in the military i needed 10min to learn how to clean it and fell in love with weapons cause of this thing its just so god damn nice and easy to handle
The Bullpup or the AUG is underrate even in videogames
Assassin the only game I have played that allowed it to show it’s potential was socom combined assault on ps2
Not in battlefield
**cough** CS:GO **cough**
Have you ever played pUbG
Eric H Siege is an arcade game.
I love the cx4, especially it's feeding system and it's loading/reloading mechanism
Talks about the CX4 storm: Alibi mains: *Heavy breathing*
Alibi has an MX4. The CX4 is the civilian model which is only capable of semi auto
@@punishedthatch8495 oh yea and cause you play video games youre clearly a weapons expert shut the fuck up you ass
Talks about AUG, IQ mains:
Jose Contreras well that escalated quickly. believe it or not, people can be weapons experts and still play video games. he is just kindly correcting the original commenter for a mistake, that is all. asshole.
I've learn to appreciate AUG rifles in video games, damn best things I've used.
A Clever Name have you used the aug in siege it’s pretty good.
I used the AUG in the Irish defence forces for 5 years even overseas and I personally think that it is a great weapon and highly underrated.
+ÈIRE hey there i used it also in the austrian armed forces! :)
+EliJ cool man I think ours differed a bit did yours have the silent cocking button and semi auto button?
Atleast the Aug appeared in almost every fps game ever
Meanwhile other underated gun like mpt 76 never get much love
I appreciate you TFB for including non-freedom kilograms on the scale.

+jettrooper3rd Do Europeans legitimately believe that if you don't have money in the USA you just get thrown into the proverbial meat grinder?
+TFB TV
"Do europeans".
You dont need to ask further than your minimum wage freedom workers to get an answer to that question. Europeans make fun of how god awful your system is all the time. Your country is great, but tou have some serious efficirncy issues.
The Cx4 looks interesting to me. I'll have to check it out 👍🏼
This vid is so relaxing I started falling asleep...
I love my AUG! I have an A3 which takes STANAGs.
Nato version. Good choice.👍
Yep same here I'm hoping I can someday get my hands on one
I really like the AUG it's probably my 2nd favorite gun. It's always been a very good, reliable, accurate gun
I love my su16 c model. Cheap, light, awesome, reliable gun. I kept the irons on it. Perfect truck gun. 10/10

The AUG is not just underrated in real life, but also in CSGO. - An honest gamer.
Not now boii
This comment hasn't aged very well xd
What are you talking about the CX storm being ugly?? It's sexy as hell
agreed!
True story! I actually saw an armed security guard a few weeks back with one and I was like damn, that's a CX4 Storm, I love that gun! Why does he have one though? lol. 90% of armed security guards in SA run around with R4's.
I know right, so sleek, it's like a sports car.
It looks like a gun you would find in Battlestar Galactica or The Expanse.
Kentoto its like the pug of the guns
You’re casual digs and sarcasm in these videos are hilarious 😂 I love dry humor idk why
I would add the Mas 49/56
Gun is bone simple, built like a tank, and not overly heavy
Is the MAS 49/56 still in production? Because if so, I agree. Sure, loading with stripper clips does need some practice. But aside from that, it's the only semi automatic rifle I'd charge into war with without question.
@@Anino_Makata
No longer in production. The only drawback to the rifle was that it needed some higher capacity mags available
Bungalo Bill
Geez, that's it? It's a shame it went down just like that.
Love bullpups. I want an Aug, but my new job does not pay jack. So at least I got my Tavor.
Patience is a virtue...save up...
Nice I mean at least you get a gun tbh my country ain’t allowed guns (except armed forces aka military and police, farmers too)

Hey I recognize the VZ 58 from Full Metal Jacket
I'm very happy that the Vz. 58 got some love in this video. I have yet to hear any complaints about the rifle its my personal favorite.
Love the two shout outs to Steyr!! The AUG is legend, and so are their pistols!!!
LOL, that Kirby Vacuum reference in the end had me actually laughing out loud
7:00 And for it's (somewhat inexplicable) efficiency at taking out cylons.
7:35, bet he regrets saying that.
Kel-Tec is probably the #1 or 2 innovator in the firearms industry today. Awesome designs. Just looks like you’d be buying junk 🙄
Aug a1: be the coolest kid in your country if you own one

Jake, the VZ58Ss are now on the restricted list in Canada.
+Wallie L
They are back to non restricted again.
As a biased New Zealander. I love the Styer AUG
and me as a biased irish fella love it too
+James “Beifong” Moulin-Gower Funny, considering NZ is dropping the AUG and going to an LMT with a monolithic upper and a standard LMT lower.
Is that the same thing as a schmuck ?
Maybe Steyr goes with the mindset of "Pfft, we don't need advertisements. Quality over quantity" which is respectable, but may not work well.
+Rigel_6 Steyr Mannlicher got in conflict with the US government and was not allowed to sell guns into the US several times. Reasons for that are fake Steyr weapons in Iraq and business with Iran in 2004. All of that was pulled back later but the damage was done. I don´t think they do not know how to sell guns, they are in business for 152 years now ;)
cx4 beretta, very reliable and powerful. I just love it's design and grip.
VZ 58 is a bad azz rifle and 100% underrated. Wish I could get one.
I feel like the intro should be: "Hey, Hey, TFB TV here."
sometimes I wish i lived in America
For the guns and the cars yeah, but everything else... yeah nah mate.
I've always wanted a Steyr pistol. Just the sights alone made me want to try one out.
It seems like you would be able to acquire and hold on target better
The Steyr Aug is an amazing weapon thank you for this quality gun
Yea baby, the Czech Hammer is an excellent gun... Glad you also mentioned it is NOT an AK
from the Czech republic. Czech republic has made a ton of great pistols and long guns.
CZ comes to mind. Everything I have ever used that is made by CZ has been
excellent. I actually own a Brno made Persian Mauser, a CZ-455 and a CZ75. All three
are among the finest guns I have ever used and all three are ultra reliable
and accurate. When ever I want a gun I would bet my
life on it is either made in the Czech Republic or a Yugo (Serbian) build.
Just a Czech dude saying you're goddamn right
the Cx4 Was also used on Battlestar Galactica, as their futuristic looking combat rifle
The Aug is an amazing rifle, I'm currently saving for one
+Noble Nitro It most certainly is and I don't think it's lack of marketing. Tavors seem to just be more readily available and cost less. I have a Tavor, but it was the AUG that made me fall in love with Bullpups. Even though I have said I was done with "modern rifles" I still may get an AUG.
I personally prefer "A-U-G" rather than pronouncing it "awg" but I wouldn't turn my nose at anyone that does.
I've also always thought the Tavor was much less attractive than the AUG.
Raid it’s actually an acronym tho,so you do pronounce it A U G
The German pronunciation is “Ow-Guh” (means “eye” too) so AWG is pretty much definitely wrong.
Its ah u gae
@@leesh342
why ah u gae?
@@professionalmemeenthusiast2117 because its a Austrian gun and in Austria they use German.
The Steyer AUG is a good bullpub but it has even for a bullpup one of the most horrible triggers. For my opinion the best bullpup is the HS PRODUKT VHS2 and thats also a real underrated gun.
I love my CX4 space gun! Embarassing marines at gun matches since 2010 - also quieter than a mouse fart with a suppressor
How's did you suppress it? I was under the impression that the barrel is too thin to thread.
"The Aug is underrated"
The Governor from TWD
"Lair..."
Made in the USA with transferable life time warranty, the sub 2000, and KSG, are soooooo much fun, I have yet to meet anyone who didnt love shooting mine.
michael johnson they seem to have plenty of good ideas, but can’t build anything that works...
I think the makers of these guns will thank you. This video is probably gonna put these guns on somebody's radar. especially with >739,480 views.
The Steyr M9-A1 was actually Mr. Silva’s handgun in the final scenes of Skyfall. For those curious
I think the CX4 looks pretty good, actually.
I think it's a very niche gun. Appealing to a very specific crowd. I'd love to get one but that's just because it looks crazy. The small ammo caliber is my only turn off but then again, I don't own any firearms so what do I know, right?
the steyr m9a1 is definitely better than the glock 17
Agree.
+Scott Saylors Having shot both I'd say no.
+Scott Saylors Hahahaha the sights are even worse than Glock's factory sights.
+General Gaige they did the impossible 😂
+Scott Saylors I'm sure some would prefer it over the Glock 17 and vice-versa. I'd bet they were about the same quality.
It's a decent simple assualt rifle, but the Mars-L is way better
the tunisian military and police adopted the aug so i guess we did something right
i think my first gun is going to be a Galil
SPARTAN 173 ----> ? Not a starter gun. I hope u jest.
Check out Patriot Ordnance Factory. I own 3 and am very happy with them.
22lr
Galil Ace? Pfffftttt, get a different weapon. If I were you I would grab a 22lr or 9mm.
handled a AUG a while ago for the first time. The Rifle is not nearly as stock heavy as I would have thought. Though the Trigger is absolutely terrible.
