  • THE NORTH FACE FLIGHT VECTIV FULL IN-DEPTH REVIEW. It's a well known fact on the channel that I'm not fully convinced putting carbon fibre plates in our trail shoes is a good thing. Earlier in the year I tested and reviewed the Vectiv Infinite from The North Face and really enjoyed the experience. The Infinite has a lot in common with the Flight Vectiv model but it has a PEBAX based plate in the midsole instead of a stiffer carbon plate. Check out the review to see if the Flight Vectiv changes my opinions on carbon plated trail running shoes.

      It's definitely important here in the UK Peter! I aways try and give as much info as possible but it can be hard to squeeze it all into a short video. Glad you enjoyed the review and thanks for watching the channel it's appreciated 🙏😊

    Hey Loyd,
    I watched both you Flight Vectiv and Vectiv Infinite reviews. *If* we'd cover the price tag, which one would you choose?
    Background: I won a Vectiv shoe of my choice, and while it'd be nice to get the much more expensive Flight Vectiv because of the fanciness factor, I understand that you're more impressed by the Infinite. But if it's free... you know, carbon plate ;)
    Keep up the good work, I just found you, but I'm about to binge watch the older videos, so much content! :)

    I love these shoes. I've done a 100k, two 50k's and a few shorter races and am up to around 200 miles in them, they are good as new other than they look dirtier (but who cares, this isn't Fashion week right?). They are great on the south west coast path in most conditions, I haven't tried them in really wet as I'd wear different shoes for that anyway, but I've done wet races in them and they were fantastic. One key advantage is when going multi terrain races, the fact they are so good on trails means you lose nothing, but you gain plenty on road sections with their bounce. Probably my favourite trail shoes.

      That's great that you've found a shoe that works well for you Chris and its also good to hear they are holding up well to mileage 👍
      It's definitely a dryer conditions shoe and it does that pretty well. I think with a few more millimetres on the lug it woukd make the shoe a lot more versatile in British conditions. Thanks for watching the channel and taking the time to comment it's appreciated 🙏😊

      @@Run4Adventure I think they serve a purpose in wetter conditions too, they served me very well in the Serpent trail 100k last year and that was fairly wet (while not being "British wet") 😁. I don't think they are a truly wet weather shoe but wouldn't restrict them to dry only.
      Keep up the good work!!

    I ran the Kerry Way Ultra Nite (94K) in September in the Flight Vectiv's and they were just superb. The trail is a mixture of road/fire road, open mountain, woodland trail and they powered me along. While there was some muddy stuff it was still late summer dry conditions. I'll be using them again for all distances come springtime

    I’ve been running in these for the past year and loved them but I’m very new to running, live in a village in Devon so purchased these despite doing mostly tarmac paths. Never had an issue and loved the stability.
    Moved to a cushioned road shoe - Nike invincible 3 and I got terrible soleus pain after 10k.
    Could you please advice me on a shoe that could replace these that are mega stable, cushioned for road and trail use.
    Love the sock fit of these.
    Looked at the newer Merrell Morphlite which had good reviews but not much good over Dartmoor

    looking for buying traishoes, and came across the flight vectiv. I'm choosing between these and the Speedgoat5 at the moment, both are aon a good sale and are similarly priced. What should one go for? New to trailrunning, will probably not be very heavy terrain, with a lot of rocks , but you never know. :)

    Will you be reviewing the Vectiv Enduris? I’m interested in how you like the performance of their max cushion, non-plated, shoe in comparison to the other 2.

    • @IndianaNaturalDog
      @IndianaNaturalDog 2 роки тому +1

      The Enduris does have a plate in it - its made of TPU. I've got about 350 miles on mine. Its very heavy but runs light. It has a decent amount of cushion but just like the rest of the line, its not a soft shoe but has some responsiveness. I haven't run in the Infinites but I would venture to guess the durability of the upper on the Infinite is better than the flight or the Enduris because of the full Matrix coverage.

    • @MrTCFIRE
      @MrTCFIRE 2 роки тому +1

      Scott is correct that the lack of Matrix fabric on the Enduris really compromised the durability of the upper...mine have holds on the big toe joint size, just from wear (not a crash or anything), other than that I also have a wear pattern on the upper inside of the ankle...otherwise they're good

    Makes me laugh, most fo these new trail shoes are only any good on trails that you could run a pair of decent grip road shoes on no problem,. I could run my Puma Velocity nitro road shoes on those trails no problem. They have decent tred and would handle the trail just as well as the Vectivs for half the price. Trail shoes in the UK need some lug depth like an XTalon, Evo Jawz, mudclaw etc. I will def give this shoe a miss. I agree we really dont need a carbon plate in trail shoes, not in the UK anyway. They are simply designing a new genre show we simply dont need to cash in.

      A decent level of grip and traction are always top of my list when it comes to trail shoes, especially if I'm using them in winter conditions Daz! It's obviously horses for courses, if you live somewhere thats dry all year round then that's fine but it doesn't cut it in the UK 👍
