The North Face Vectiv Flight Series v The Craft CTM Ultra Carbon: Which should you buy?
Вставка
- Опубліковано 1 сер 2024
- In this video I am going to have a look at the Craft CTM Ultra Carbon and the North Face Flight Series Vectiv.
First I review the construction and the fit and feel of the shoes .
Then I assess their performance having run some trails in each one.
Finally I decide which one you should buy.
I made this follow up video as I am running a challenge run over a coastal trail and I am trying to pick a shoe to race in.
I have run 80 miles / 130km in each of these shoes and they are top of the shortlist for running fast across the trail.
I figured that my choosing which shoe to run in might equate to which one you might be thinking of buying so I decided to make this video.

Best comparison shoe review, ever! Godspeed, Barry.
Cheers Troy. Really enjoyed getting into these two again!
Great channel, nice "vs" video! Glad to find other running channels like mine to share our passions, exchange ideas and so on. Fully watched, appreciated and subscribed, my friend!
Thanks Mihai! I have subscribed to your channel...looking forward to seeing your videos
I been waiting for this depth review for a long time - thanks much, fantastic review. Comment on TNF Vectiv grip was helpful. For your coastal race, two very-light shoes maybe consider are Salomon Pulsar and Inov-8 X-Talon G210. For this winter, I narrow to 3 shoes: Vectiv and these 2. Thanks much!
I have been wondering about getting an Inov-8 X-Talon G210, but for a different run which I will probably do next spring, as it needs good weather and a lot of time...and possibly some swimming!
I would love to try some Salomon shoes. Despite being based in the EU they don't ship directly to Ireland, which is short-sighted...I got the distinct impression that they thought Ireland is part of England...but I do like what they make. I have a pair of shoes here and another on the way...so will hold off...
Rajkumar, I meant to ask..are the X-Talon G210 very firm underfoot? I was going to spend a day on the bay running on all surfaces and in the water possibly doing some swim running
@@OldManRunner Not tried the X-talon but from the website it is firm underfoot with the lugs for muddy. Maybe the Pulsar could be the better alternative. Unable to get my size so keep waiting for Salomon to have inventory update. Thanks much!!
Nice review, thank you
Thanks James.
I still have my old speedcross 4's from my OCR racing a few years back. Based on your review I would lean towards the Vectiv as a lack of wet grip is an instant no for an offroad shoe (well for me). By the way.. Great North Run in Cloud-Boom-Echo's , was an interesting course this year (loop back into the city which made it a tad lumpy) I managed a 1.47 which for a 90kg plodder I am happy with. However, the wear on the back of the shoe is a little much (I have done about 120km now .. will be lucky to get another 100km out of them), but they felt really good, especially in the last couple of km where I took them about 4-4:30). likely I am too heavy and about 1min per km too slow. :)
John. Well done on the time. A very difficult course, I watched it live on the BBC. It's a race I really want to do...am going to sign up for entry for next year and hope to win a lottery place...delighted it is going back to the old course...it's been on my wish list for years.
I am putting more runs into the Echo's but they only have 40k to date...doing a follow up video in the next month or so...in and around my Chicago Marathon stuff...and some mad shoes that have arrived...also doing a video on a replacement for my shot to pieces Cloudventure Waterproofs...
4-4:30 is great at the tail end of a really hilly course...all the winners mentioned it. Chapeau!
Note to self: must do a video on tire choices…🤔
Your choice of spelling might be the first point...
