    I am not really into trail running but I do enjoy hiking here and there. I’m a TNF employee and they’ve made us learn a lot about the shoes but reviews like yours really help me get a better feel for what people actually think of them/pros and cons and quirks of the shoe. Appreciate you taking the time to make this. Very informative and useful information

    I’ve had these shoes for about 4 months now and love them. Paid retail which is pretty pricey but I feel like they live up to the hype. I live in Boulder, CO in the states and these are great for the dry technical trails we have here. The do grip well on wet rock/roots but mud could be problematic...I’ve been a bit skeptical of the wear, especially on the rubber sole, but so far they’ve held up really well...I weigh about 190 lbs and am pretty hard on my shoes, but these are hanging in there...bought the Flights for racing and these are my every day trail runners...great review!

    Totally agree with you on this shoe. I bought a pair on spec as I liked the concept. Amazing uphill, super over rocky terrain and even relatively soft ground. But on mud - nope. Also when it gets wet the ortholite insole holds a lot of water and makes the shoe heavy. But over all I think this is a truly super shoe and I can't wait to put proper miles on it during summer.

    Good honest review. Have to say it looks nice, you could wear it down the pub (when they re-open). Think it's definitely designed for more buffed out and rocky trails, not sure how well it would perform on the sloppy, muddy trails around me in the West Yorkshire Pennines.

    Another good review there Loyd. Was interesting to hear you say that its good for roads too. Im more of a trail monster myself but will go onto roads when I get fed up with mud and sliding all over the place ;-) Would love to hear your thoughts on this one then versus say the Hoka Rincon v the Speedgoat v Peregrine? As a mainly road v trail shoe?

      It definitely runs well on the road, it's very comfortable in that environment. It's quite hard to do a V's review against a trail shoe and a road shoe because they are both designed for a completely different type of running and have lots of different features. Thanks Tim, glad you enjoyed it 😊
      Yeap they all have similarities but the top of the range shoe, the flight series is the lightest in the range and it has a Carbon plate in the midsole. The Vectiv Infinite is a little bit heavier and has a Pebax based plate in the midsole. It also has the same Matryx upper as the fight series. The Vectiv Enduris is the heaviest and softest shoe in the range. It doesn't have the Matryx upper the other two shoes have but it does have the Pebax plate in the midsole 👍

    • @Run4Adventure
      @Run4Adventure  3 роки тому

      Thanks very much 😊
      The Vectiv Infinite is design to do a similar job to the ATR from Hoka but I personally think it's does everything better! The level of grip from the outsole is better, the Vectiv has a full rubber outsole, so no exposed midfoot. It feels quite a bit more responsive and connected than the ATR. When it comes to cushioning I'd say they are quite similar 🤔

    2 short questions! 1: I'm flat footed with overpronation. I read on the product page that it has a high arch, which is good for me. You think this works out without orthotics or nah? 2: Is this cool enough for summer days casual use? Literally cool/ cold, not cool cool

    • @Run4Adventure
      @Run4Adventure  3 роки тому

      It's really hard to say if your orthotics will fit with out seeing your orthotics. If they are made to go in running shoes then they might? Some orthotics are just to wide at the midfoot and they won't fit in! Do you always put orthotics in your trail running shoes?

    Hi there
    I’ve spent a lot of money on return postage trying to get the right trainers and the right fit... would you say these shoes are true to size or come up small or big ?

    • @Run4Adventure
      @Run4Adventure  3 роки тому

      I found them to be true to size 👍
      I'm a uk9.5 in most of my running shoes and I got a Uk9.5 in the Vectiv and they fit like a glove 😊
      I did mention that in the review?

    • @mikastinks
      @mikastinks 3 роки тому

      @@Run4Adventure you did say they fit like a glove but Somebody said that in a Hoka review and I’m a street size 6 so bought the speedgoat 4 in a 6 and I need the 6.5 in those. So disappointing spending on returns.
      Thank you so much for your reviews

      Speedgoat sizes up small so I always go up to a uk10 in that shoe. If you'd watched our review on the Speedgoat 4 you'd have seen that 😉

    • @Run4Adventure

      I'd say the volume in the shoe is average. I definitely wouldn't say it's wide 👍

    Would you recommend this shoe for a new trail runner who only wants to dabble in trail running and do short distances 5 miles and under?

    • @Run4Adventure
      @Run4Adventure  3 роки тому

      It could definitely do that Will but its quiet expensive! If you only want to dabble with trail running you could probably get away with something cheaper 🤔

      They do the Vectiv Enduris which is the cheaper shoe in the range at £125. You might be able to find an old pair of Hoka Speedgoat 3's in the sale somewhere? It depends what size you run in wether you'll find any 👍

    How does it compare to the altra lone peak?

    • @Run4Adventure
      @Run4Adventure  3 роки тому +1

      It's nothing like a Altra Lone peak Bilal! The Lone peak is Zero drop, has a wide foot shaped toe box, no midsole rocker and less depth of cushioning! They are totally different shoes 😊

    Hi do these work for pronation runners?

    • @Run4Adventure
      @Run4Adventure  2 роки тому

      All runners have to pronate to a degree to get through their running cycle. If you mean over-pronate then most trail running shoes are neutral in structure. The trail environment is a lot less aggressive than the hard repetitive road so structure and stability aren't as important 👍

      @@Run4Adventure thanks for my next shoe, I was looking for something that I can do both regular trail running and occasional hiking in the Peak and Lake Districts. • @Run4Adventure

      A lot of runners and hikers in the US use the Altra Lone Peak. Just be aware it is a Zero drop shoe, so the heel hight is the same as the forefoot hight, so no heel off set 😊

      It is meant to be a more natural position to be in but most of us have spent 100's of years in shoes with a heel. It's obviously a personal thing that works for some and not for other. You'd have to take your time getting use to running with a zero drop shoe. You'd be best building up mileage very slowly over a 6 to 8 week period so your body can adapt to the change. If that's not something your interested in then I'd maybe go for a shoe with a heel off set 👍

      I'd say this shoe is good on technical terrain say like you get in Europe in summer, anything rocky and it shines. It just can't cope with deep sloppy mud, which, sadly is all we have round my way at the moment!
