Naturally, you will begin to optimize every decision you make towards your personal benefit and your personal well being will become your priority, whether you want it or not. And this is how you can easily be manipulated by outside stimulus as you become nothing more but a tool chasing positive stimulus. Principles are setting your pathway and during stressfull times, we (every human) tend to get lost easily if we aren't aware of our landmarks ;) PS: This is why, in my humble opinion, religion was such a successful system in the past. He made a choice take the 50 million and continue to get pimped by Hollywood, or get out at the height of his career which made people want to see him even more continue to sharpen his craft then come back and pimp the game himself. Making his paper on his own terms not on someone else's .

You have a real problem reading people. Oprah was not hostile to Chappelle. She was asking him questions that most people would ask and you read hostility in that. She's a great interviewer and if Chappelle thought she was hostile his reactions would probably have been different. As it is he was very open with her.
Dave Chappelle is the only racial satirist to realize that racists were laughing at his jokes. This is what Aaron Mcgruder never realized with the Boondocks. Still a great show in its own right. But it's something that most people seem to be oblivious to. Chappelle is extremely observant and socially aware. He's actually "woke".
I know quite a lot of African Americans who liked boondocks so that definitely isn't true. Racist people will love racist jokes, that's a given but it doesn't mean non-racist people won't either. I mean racist people probably like normal jokes as well, same with non-racist people so you can't never tell a joke again in fear of making someone you don't like laugh.

This is how you open people's eyes to these issues. This is how you get people to pay attention to you when you are fighting for something. Insulting people, threatening people, screaming in people's faces at restaurants etc is not going to get their focus on your voice, it's only going to upset and anger them and make them immediately feel defensive. Had he not a comedian, Dave Chappelle has the quality of a leader. He is fearless in speaking his mind. He is observant, clever, able to capture people's heart.
The greatest trick in the world is to let your enemies think that you have no brains. Your on point Dave

I think it is even older than this, but Nelson Mandela is the one who coined the concept. He said "courage is not the absence of fear, but the triumph over it"
I needed this! Thank you for putting this video together and thank you Dave for being this great and calm man with great vision and even greater sense of humour and gift of explaining important truths with comedy ! Thank y'all!

Good one!👍👏
Fall for anything? What does that mean
@@morpher728 if you don't stand for something, that means you have no principles or integrity and can be easily bought and controlled
@@morpher728 Here is how I see it: principle guide your actions. Without principles, there is no limitations for your possible actions at any given time. Naturally, you will begin to optimize every decision you make towards your personal benefit and your personal well being will become your priority, whether you want it or not. And this is how you can easily be manipulated by outside stimulus as you become nothing more but a tool chasing positive stimulus.
Principles are setting your pathway and during stressfull times, we (every human) tend to get lost easily if we aren't aware of our landmarks ;)

sorry to say but the fact he got an award, kinda means he was apart of the industry all along
Sell out he’s on Netflix
@@TheSjh196 industry only acknowledges industry
The replies to this comment show how foolish people are. Dave still kept his integrity. Not selling out doesn’t mean staying broke, it means sticking to your Morals no matter what, which he did. He’s in the rare minority that didn’t sell out and managed to still succeed because of his rare talent, but it took over 10 years out.
Dave is truly a national treasure we must protect, and I have to give it to Netflix for backing him recently 👍🏽👊🏽👊🏽
I liked the way Dave kept his cool, while being interviewed by Oprah. You know he wanted to say, BYTCH! STFU!! But he didn’t, he showed her respect.
That's what they wanted to do provoke him make him lose it on tv and destroy him...but fortunately for Dave he is an intelligent man
He didn't show her any respect. Respect is earned. He showed her intellect, strength and wisdom. He showed her how a GOD moves in a room full of 🦈 sharks

@Sunny Bizzle @Skeezix I personally don't like Oprah myself. But you two incel idiots should stop watching interviews if you don't understand how it works. On his list of what would make the cost of success too high, I think he wrote "personal integrity". I can't read minds, but from what I gather he strikes me as a man who wants to stay true to his values and what he believes.
I get the feeling he had good parents, but he also listened to their advice. That's twice blessed.
I really respect David because he knew when he needed to take a break, he knew his limit and that's what keeps him humble to this day.

I call shenanigans. He marketed an “Uncle Ruckus Movie” for a reason.
