The low X-Block... 1. The reason you aggresively block a kick is because you want to block the kick in close where there's no velocity on the foot. If you attack the kick where the kick is strongest it will hurt your arms more than anything else. 2. Using both hands in an X-Block, you can then easily grab the leg and transition to a pull or sweep.
0:31 - opponent pulls out full arm, while the fighter is bringing upwards his own arm as well but in the center Problem - this is 2 swords forming a cross, so no punch is being served, their failing to hit their opponent, they’re opponent is doing better at performing a defensive move. Solution - 0:35 one of the opponents sides is not being defended - the other hand will actually punch Ideas I have - It’s normally hard to duck your head from a punch, as you get older, your flexibility will be slowly going away when your aging from your 30’s - 40’s etc.. So in order to not even have to worry about ducking your head, I’d see it be possible to deflect the swings by putting both of your hands closely together as a wall keeping your face safe from contacting the punches If your opponents legs are spread out, their the ones readied up to swing a kick to your crotch, chest or even face after you used your hands to shield your face If your opponent is standing, standing with fists balled up or even brought out - if he’s standing, if you did a small jump with your feet like you would when your using a jump rope, when you are kicking something like a soccer ball, your supposed to just send it forward, within the field, but with footballs, you have the 2 prongs fork all the way at the ends of 2 sides and you have to pass it to your team mates, as the objective is not only to share the ball with your guys, but your supposed to be throwing your punch at someone, they’re supposed to catch it, the thing is, since you have to trea, basketball more like archery, you have to cycle around the opponents while bouncing the ball in 1 or both hands while trying to protect it from being stolen by the opponent. They are supposed to be able to take it from your hands whenever your holding it or bouncing it, if they catch it while your bouncing it, their trying to take it as soon as they can from you So basketball requires you to send a ball into a destination, a football however requires you to pass it along to everyone while running though, when your running with a basketball, you only g\have to think about your distance and how far or close away you are from the hoop, your 2 hands are often a good use to precision your throw into the hoop perfectly, but it’s also ok to try and 1 handed throw it into the hoop, but a football isn’t thrown by 2 hands, it’s thrown in the way like you’d throw a dart at a dart board

The X block that is called Jujuuke is the most unrealistic Block a Karateka can do blocking a front kick.Only thing you will get out of it is sore arms and the person kicking with sore shins. The possiblity the person blocking is going to have his head blown off.The bunkai that I would give for Gedan Jujuuke is.That one arm is brushing the kick away and the other hand and arm gets aimed at the head taking the person down to the ground. Please see real Bunkai with Patrick McCarthy Sensei. Same Type of Bunkai to doing a Jodan Jujiuke. we use to practice this block as shown in this video.I was never comfortable with it then and still not comfortable with it because in a real situation it would never work or use like this.OSS

it would fail miserably, because your hands start in a stupidly low position you are wasting time bringing your hands up to block, this is BS that needs to be dropped from karate KEEP YOUR HANDS UP!
@@OdinAlgeron IMO, those blocks can be modified for when you have your hands up. Try it yourself, it's hard to explain it in writing. Anyway, even Okinawan masters said Karate was never meant to be used against someone trained.

Okinawan Karate has done this for many decades and is very basic for them. It is good that Japanese Karate has discovered it.

Good stuff i want to learn blocks like that i want to do karate but im an amputee so i cant use my legs but i would love to learn punches and blocks.
However, the ' blocks' shown here makes more sense as grappling techniques!. That way it's more practical.
Safdar Kh Yup, originally Karate was a very close distance fighting art and these “blocks” are meant for different things such as throws.
Good video God bless thanks
1:38 did he just block the kick with his forarm?

If you're going to do an outside block and underpunch, why train for an augmented outside block instead?
Because there is more than one application for the technique. There is also the grappling side.
