What people don't understand is it's not Nathan's job to build them a new BMW. If you put a part on the car that is safe that's all the responsibility you have. If your building a car to sell on speculation you're always weighing what the car is worth vs what to fix on the car. I'd love to replace ever nut and bolt and make the car like new again but no one would buy it because you'd have twice as much in the car as its worth. I won't even get started on the amount of money I have invested in tools just to be able to work on cars. When I put a car on the market I document everything I did to the car and I disclose anything I found that I didn't fix. It's up to the buyer then to decide if they want the car for the price I ask.

I wouldn't have expected anything less from such an extremely competent tech as you are Nathan to bring this M5 back to life. Sort through the few other minor issues and it's a homerun. This beast is gonna be a great driver and make its owner quite happy.

Perfect timing! I just replaced shocks/sturuts(sachs) and front control arms on the x6. What a difference the control arms made. These were the eBay Detroit specials too. My control arms were so bad i though the struts were blown which is why I started with the shock/struts at first. But after swapping them out it still rode funky. So I grabbed a pair of eBay arms just for the heck. Wow! The x6 feels like a bmw agin. The thing hugs the road and shreds corners like none other. One thing I did find out though along the journey is you MUST use the oem bump stops made for the oem spring. In the BMW word it’s not just a bump stop. It actually supplements the soft springs just a fyi.

Don't add less than a litre at a time because the sensor is not accurate enough to pick up small differences in the oil level.

  • @JunYamog

Try to force an oil read by pressing the BC button until the reading gets reset, it would read - : - you will get a preliminary reading but not accurate. Drive it around until it’s on normal temp, then stop at a level place. Usually in about 30 secs you would get a more accurate reading. Great on you putting good content

So awesome seeing it back on the road!! I honestly think the oil level sensor is bad. I've changed the oil 3 times since I've had it. It would sporadically read correctly, then go back to saying it was low.

Hi I got question, let’s say I did cold start and waited till the car warmed up, except that the needle of temperature isn’t in 95 C (it’s operating temp), if one drives it still at more than 3000 rpm does that have any bad effect? Especially on rod bearings and vanos? Thanks

Sadly from 2030 on all combustion cars including classics will be banned
from public streets in entire EU and Scandinavia :-( In Germany the
Green Peoples Party gave order to shorten fuel supply from 2025 on by
reducing all conventional fuel stations to only one state operated
central gas station per city or county. Now they even want to slow down
all the gas pumps from 20 litre per minute to 2 litre per minute...From
2027 on in the EU certain car spare parts will be banned too....as
exhaust systems, turbo chargers and even some engine and gearbox
oils...California and New York will do the same from 2027 on.... So no
investments should be done in oil burning cars any longer....They even
created a new kind of crime here, called emissions and smoke crime. :-(!!!!!
