Hello, great video, is it possible to know how much that job run you ??, ( IF YOU CAN DO PARTS AMOUNT, AND THEN LABOR ) We all know labor will depend on who does it, but at least to get an idea how much people need to dish out every 60 or 70 thou miles to be safe and not damage anything. There are cars with 100k+ on them and never done them, thats something I would never do, i think is better to do them and not wait for worst damage. CHEERS 😏😏😏👌👌👌
i swear that guy at evolve has the best job ever, he so knowledgable on everything he talks about, he sounds like a proper professional and then he has the job to to test drive the car afterwards top guy he is
Drove past an E60 M5 today on the M6 - only noticed after i'd passed it that it was your number plate lol. You were cruising very sensibly at 60mph. Car looked stunning.
Since I was a little kid the sound of the V10 had a specific place in my head always reminding myself how amazing the engine itself sounds. A lot of people scare others as I watched your previous video mostly people who never owned one. One day I hope I will own one just like you have a beautiful vehicle as shown in video. Keep up the good work.
It's amazing how much misinformation is posted as gospel on these cars, by people who have never sat in one, let alone owned one. When looked after and well maintained they're not that bad at all. It's a V10 engine in a saloon car, it is always going to have costs associated with that.
@@lexburen5932 100%. These were £60k plus when new (mine was probably closer to £70k with the options it has), so there always going to have £60k plus running costs. You can't run these on lemonade money!
Hamza you're really good at this UA-cam business, we need more videos from you pal. Your videos are always an easy, enjoyable and informative watch. Look forward to more on the V10 beast. 🙌
Love this vid. Would love to see a price breakdown for this job, including the std price for this at evolve. Evolve looks like they really care about their work....I would be going there if I was in the UK. salam bro
I've always wondered why rod bearings seem to be mentioned in the same sentence as E60 M5's and it seems so odd to replace them just as a preventative measure so thanks for the explanation. A really enjoyable video and looking forward to watching the first drive. Lovely car.
Hello mate. I’ve owned an E60 M5 for some years now. Bought the best I could find after a long hard search. I’m so glad to find someone making content about this! I’m new to your channel but I will be following this now religiously 😎 Love the home maintenance and after your strip down at evolve I’ll deffo be getting my rod bearings done. On 75k now and I push it hard so thanks for the look inside the engine!! Got a bit of content on my hobby channel, I’d love a follow back 🙌🏻
Thank you for the advice mate much appreciated. I guess though sadly it would be a waste of time for me? 🤷🏼♂️ as I drive the car very hard as and when I take it out 🤣
Hamza thanks so mutch for this vidio it has put my mind to rest just got my e60 m5 mine has only 12 miles and i must have watched every video on bearings but you have explained it so well I'm not going to bother do mine now I will just change oil every year...thans again 👍💯🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧
Haven't watched your videos for sometime. This is how videos should be, interesting stuff. Not a clown just hacking it round like we haven't seen it 1000x times before
Would have been good to get a price breakdown. Or even a range to give ppl an idea. There was a similar video out by drive tribe. They didn't give a price breakdown either... You can set yourself apart by giving full details.
i have always loved that model of M5 and would love one if i had the money but after watching these videos and work involved not to mention the cost to keep them reliable i don't think i would have one now even if i had the money .love the videos though .
They are definitely expensive when they go wrong but due to them depreciating a fair bit it allows for some money to be spent on the car, and still have a very special driving experience for the price of a modern hot hatch. But yes ultimately it is a risk and there are not many good ones for sale
Hey man....for a more attainable car, I would suggest an e60 550i, my dad has owned about 5 now (we now have an f10 M5), and they were always reliable fun. Still a 4.8 V8 and I would easily argue - far more rare than the e60 M5, which is in some ways more appealing in it's own right. Like I said, it's far more reliable too....its not quite the power or as special, but its basically a baby M5....plus, without the 'M' badge, parts and maintenance are much cheaper, dont get me wrong tho, its still not exactly "cheap" to maintain, but still more affordable than an M5. Just suggesting it cos I know it's a very underrated car...no one talks about it so I'm hoping it might be a good alternative until mabye one day you land yourself a dream M5 :), good luck!
@@TheM5Dog yh...realistically tho....literally what car has depreciated in the last year?....the mix of a crazy covid car market and the slow impending death of the combustion engine has just sky rocketed car prices...especially anything special or performance orientated. U could pick up e92 M3s for like a bag of chips and now they're like a serious investment....just because they're now appreciated as the only v8 M3....prices are CRAZY!!!!....sad to see unfortunately.
@@haroonzabair1180 definitely truth in that, but values of the E60 have been climbing for a few years. There are still some cheap ones about, but they're becoming more scarce. Looking at Autotrader only, there are 37 V10s forsale. There are 122 F10s, and while technically the better car, they're no where near as special as the E60. I drove an F10 and it was mega fast, but it didn't excite. I wasn't disappointed about getting back in my E60.
A lot of people love low milage cars, but don't realize that if its almost 20+ years old, those cold starts are brutal on the engine in between those years. Id rather risk getting one with 100k miles.
Great video. Really hate when people thrash the shit out of a performance cars. Then will get rid of it once it's giving them problems. So the next person coffs the bills. If I had serious money I would restore the whole cars engines if I did own a 2nd hand performance car. And will be keeping it for future investments. I've made up my mind, to buy new. But only if I have extra 60grand.
Where are you from? Heard u say evolve is in Luton and only 9 mins away I’m from Sta bout 15 mins away from Luton I’d love to see dis around and what ever u do dont give up on ur a legend a very very underrated legend keep the amazing shit up
You better switch your oil to 5W50 Redline with 880090 Motorad thermostat. That keeps your engine cleaner and healthier-you shouldn’t have rod bearing issues.
Great video! but worrying that we never saw any clearance checks for the new bearings! They should have checked the clearance of the new bearing using something like plastigauge, otherwise, how will they know the crank lobe hasn't worn out of spec! Hopefully, they did it and you didn't show it, because that's not good practice slapping new bearings in without checking clearances.
Nice video. Have an e92 with 54 k miles. Not sure when to do them. I'm thinking maybe the 70k mark. I have owned the car since 19k miles, so I know its always been warmed up correctly since then
If you have looked after it why not get the oil tested for peace of mind. But with low mileage you've probably changed the oil every 7,000 miles and that will A have helped a lot and B be cleaner oil that you test so erm.
They did and it was. It’s an issue with S65 V8 and S85 V10 which are basically the same engine, S65 with 2 cylinders chopped off. Awesome engines that were designed with too fine tolerances on the crankshaft/rod bearings.
At what point did you decide to get it done? I heard you spun a bearing in the first part, but I dont know if you were joking. If you did spin it, what happened? I have a 2008 M6 with an ESS supercharger on it and worry about this. Not sure what to look for. It is at 88k miles.
Dear Tr Hemza your vid are really nice also by the way I think your front codriver brake disc is the wrong direction as the holes are looking the wrong way
