- WE ARE BACK! FINALLY, the long awaited depressing update to the Swamp Thing Lotus. As much as I want to just DRIVE the car, the right thing to do is pull the motor and replace the fuel tanks.
If you have an extra dark grey/black 1988 Lotus seat please contact me. Thanks.
Just picked up a 1988 Turbo Esprit as well. About to pull engine and fuel tanks.
Great to see you back!
I'm so happy this series is back!
If you’re ever interested in selling the Lotus, let me know. I’ve been looking for a esprit project for a while now.
Love your videos, how often do Esprit project cars come up I’ve started looking for one while deployed
I have two black seats from my 94 - gone aftermarket. If you want to try to make those work I would trade for go fast parts :-)
Loving this series and can’t wait for the next one.
Really enjoyed watching your videos on this Lotus. Any idea when the next one might be?? Best, Nick
Well this went nowhere fast
Thats some nasty fuel!
Good to see some progress on the Espirit! Given its age anyone could have taken the car apart decades ago! Look forward to the tank(s) removal....I know you know your Espirits etc but have you seen the Westcam Lotus engine out YT vids?
I had a 1988 Mk1 Mr2, think was a hoot as long as the tank wasn't to full, then it was to heavy lol
What gas tanks are you going to use? I probably need some too for my 87 Hci
You are probably right on about the fuel tanks. Stuff gets nasty. Good update.
Ps the fuel looked rank! (Rank is a bad thing)
Nice to hear from you! Good luck with the engine out task!
Love the Esprit and interested to see what goes into restoration.
Any update coming?
Well, it’s good news and bad news. The bad news is that I stalled out back in May 21. The good news is that means you haven’t missed anything yet. I bought two other project cars (another Esprit and a 308). Both are almost ready to sell and then I can get back to this awful Esprit. Haha.
@@nitrusmr2 :) We'll look forward to it
Looking forward to the next one Aaron!
PS…I did replace the crossover pipe with a stainless steel pipe. Definitely some nasty sediment was in mine.
Ugh…fuel tanks… 🤮
