    Excellent video. I finally stopped fooling around with the Harrison R4/GMC model and finally found Klima Works and got a Sanden compressor from them along with the condenser and replaced a number of the hoses and electric components.

    Hi Pierre: you mentioned that most denso compressors affect the evaporator due to compressing too much. my understanding is that the compressed side goes to condensor, dryer, then expansion valve and then to evap. but by the time it goes to evap it would be low pressure. So from this picture, the expansion valve could put more pressure on the evap... please explain....

      @@mercedesclassicswithpierre1753 Thanks Pierre! I did check it, and unsurprisingly, the diaphragm was torn. Replaced, it and noticed that the actual recirc flap is VERY stiff. In fact, it doesn't move at all. Is this common? Corrosion??

      i had a similar problem. in traffic air slowly turns hot. while actually moving it was fine.

    I own, a new to me, 1976 w115 300d. The ac is not working, would like to replace the seal on the York compressor. Where can I find rhe seal kit you are referring to? And wich part do i have to get from NAPA? Thanks for the help! The w115 seem to be the unloved mercedes and info is scarce!

    I have a 300SDL and the air conditioner works fine after I recharged it (it was retrofitted with a124) , but when it gets hot out and i'm in traffic the temp gauge gets over 100 Celsius. I turn the heater on and the car pretty much stays at 100 or below in the hot weather. I replaced the fan clutch, thermostat, and the green coolant that was in the car with the correct Zerex coolant. Any idea why this might be?

      is your auxiliary fan working> if not, the fan resistor might be bad. it is located under the master cylinder inside the secondary firewall...no fun to get to.

      I actually just replaced the aux fan switch, which was very easy to get to and it seemed to fix the problem. The temperature gauge will still go over 100, but it will cool down rather quickly when the aux fan kicks on at around 105 degrees. I guess I got lucky it wasn't the resistor. Thanks for taking the time to respond; I appreciate it.

    Hey pierre, question for u. i have a 1987 300SDL W126. I had working air...but every 2 to 3 weeks i needed to add more freon. Since i had a major job done (head replacement, i decided to change everything. New condensor, new compressor, new dryer and new expansion valve. The compressor will not turn on. New climate control unit and a new klima switch as well. stumped. any guesses?

      I don't know about Mercedes, but on old domestic cars, too low charge or too high pressure will fail to satisfy a pressure switch and prevent the AC clutch from pulling in.

    i have a 2000 MB 230 Kompressor and my car will not blow cold air just hot air... what should i do first?

    So it would be the dealer these parts come from? Often the aftermarket parts suppliers list parts as 'genuine'. It's almost like that's the name, not Mercedes.
