Would this and the Az-900 be a good route for someone looking to get in to cloud computing and eventually cloud security?
yes it would be a good start
You had a video on getting started in cloud, but plural sight took over all your recommended courses and labs. Would you recommend this to get started in cloud / cyber security instead, or do you have other recommendations for this?
I’ll create an updated video soon, but this Microsoft cert is an excellent start, along with the SC-900 is a good start

Great information as always 🙌🏻
I was thinking to start learning splunk from their free training courses but I don't know whert to start and how much should learn(it goes deep and deep) since i have started my learning journey of cyber security recently.
A dedicated video would be appreciated since it has so many rolws and learning paths like splunk cloud admin, splunk search expert,SOAR analyst, soc admin.
splunk is great to learn as a skill, and you can specialise in it but the training itself can’t be used alone to learn cyber security, you still need to learn the basics of cyber security (including how a SIEM fits in it all..), I suggest you follow this roadmap (I mentioned how Splunk fits within:

they’re all fine and extremely similar! Start with Google and see how you go
@@UnixGuy Thank you very much for your answer :)

Best of luck!
UnixGuy, I hope you're doing well. This may not be the best video to ask this question on but I wanted to comment on the most recent in order to hopefully receive a timely reply. I started in my CS learning path and I'm nearing the midway mark of it after 5 certifications (A+,Sec+,Google SCP, TCM PEH, and finishing CCNA). You mentioned in almost every video when I first started watching (I still do lol) that SPLUNK skills are almost a blind necessity in these times and that they would help project the career path upwards.
I'm currently in the process of enrolling for one of their certs BUT they have an absolute wide assortment, from Power user, to advanced, to cloud architect, to cloud this and that. I wanted to kindly ask for someone on my level with no experience in anything SPLUNK related, should I start with what seemed the most basic ( I believe it was Power User )? As in would it be sufficient for entry to mid level positions to quench those requirements, or would the enterprise one (Or any other one really) be of more viable outcome in furthering my career ? Thanks Alot for all you do and all your videos. Cheers 😄
start with the power user then focus on something else

Hey! Since I am new to the cyber security field as well as your youtube channel, which has been really helpful, I'm looking for a piece of advice. I'm pursuing Computer Science Engineering (Third year), thus I have basic computer knowledge.
I wanted to ask is, whether I should straight away jump to the Google and/or the Microsoft cyber security certificates, or take my time to study Networks and other concepts (from different resources) before I look forward to these certifications?
Thanks :)
google's course covers the basics of networking and all the basics you need. they really weren't kidding with the whole no prior experience required :)
Your question was answered in the video, please watch the video.
@@udaykasturi7986 I’ve earned my Net+ already and currently in course 3 of the Google cybersecurity course which is all about networking. What I’m seeing is they cut out all the extra fluff and are sticking to the Main parts of networking, like “cutting corners” of unnecessary topics you learn about in Net+. CIDR is something they graze over but requires practice to get good at. Unless you’re setting up the networks you may not need to know too much of it hands on.
It’s like a mini Net+ crash course.

Hi UnixGuy, how are you?
First of all, I want to thank you for how much you helped and still help people who want to pursue a career in cybersecurity.
I finished the Google IT Support course on the Coursera platform, and in the last module, which is to learn the basics about cybersecurity. I ended up liking this last stage so much, that I started researching it, and saw that it was an area that I could really see myself working on. I actually really liked the Digital Forensics part.
I'm still learning English as I'm from Brazil, but I've watched all your videos on how to start a career in cybersecurity. I wrote down the entire step-by-step process and intend to follow the plan, however, I had two doubts after reading the comments on this video.
The first question is the following:
Does the Google cybersecurity course have anything extra that I will NOT learn if I take the Microsoft course? Because I haven't learned 100% English yet, it would be difficult for me, since the Google course doesn't have the English language on Coursera.
The second question is the following:
How necessary is learning the English language in relation to this career? I speak at the beginning, because if you tell me about the urgent need, I will do an intensive to learn right before starting the cybersecurity course.
Thank you for everything and see you next time!
hey mate,
yea the google has slightly different modules but you will be fine with either
English is important but since you live in Brazil you will be fine! Your english will imrpove when you study :)
Can you make a video on ISC² CC?
I talked about it here briefly:
ua-cam.com/video/DRJic8vCodE/v-deo.html
Just completed Google's Cyber security certification, will this be worth it doing now or I should focus on something else?
yes, if you want to take your career towards cloud for example.
Either way, if you decide to do it, you should finish it a lot quicker because the concepts are similar. Once you finish it, I strongly recommend you start doing hands-on projects as recommended here:
ua-cam.com/video/LFlsDm8w36A/v-deo.html
My issue is just because this shows you the basics doesnt mean a company is going to care about this. What if they only acknowledge ccna or A+???

I just want to know if i complete all these certificates including blue team level 1 as u suggested sir which will take 1 year or less. I will be 18 by that time. Will i be able to start my career as a cybersecurity analyst?
I see most of the jobs require experience ( Atleast 2 years and a degree in CS) . Please explain about this sir!
Thank you so much for your videos! Your videos are always inspiring! Full support boss!
wow well done on doing all these certs at 17!
I’m not familiar with the job market in Pakistan, but you should be adding those to your CV, you definitely have more knowledge and experience than a lot of people - start applying to jobs!
@@UnixGuy Thank you so much sir! I will do it soon .
I m so happy to receive your reply, boss (:
What is the equivalent of this in AWS?
there isn’t one.
Watch this if you haven’t already:

Doing google security, already have sc900. So unsure this worth for me but maybe if i can do in a month...
depends on what your goal job is?
@UnixGuy pushing for cyber security now. Have azure associate admin,ai and teams, sc900 and all fundamentals. Now finishing google cyber and a month of tryhackme and Linux for hackers and signed up for ejpt training and exam. Plus soc1and 2 training at tryhackme. Plan to put feelers out for jobs in 7months maybe. Maybe I could quick try the Microsoft one. Failed az500 so could try that again but also the sc200 security analyst... hhmm option and time
follow this roadmap as it is:

I don't have any knowledge about programming?
But I'm kinda interested in technologies!
Should i go for a Bachelor's degree in Cyber security?

@@UnixGuy Thanks that was helpful!
So if I do bachelor's in cyber security what should be my masters choice? Any recommendations?
@@smsarar8995 finish the bachelors first, then worry about masters
I'll finish the google one first then I'll do this one aswell.
good luck!
Is MacBook air m1 8gb ram is good for cyber security?
yes…
i am interested in Computer Network I have completed my Bachelor's in Computer Applications, can I do this course is it worth it for my carrier
yes it will introduce you to the field
What’s better the google certificate or the Microsoft certificate
they’re both great! do either or both, you will learn a lot
Which one is better Google cybersecurity or Microsoft?
Do both.
@@mayavik1034 Doing both for same thing I think it is not a good idea
the Google one may be a bit better because of the security+ voucher but you can't go wrong with either. The thing is the Microsoft version focuses more on the cloud and cloud security so you will get a different set of skills taking this course.
Taking both the Google and Microsoft would actually be a good idea and will give you more domain knowledge on cybersecurity and cloud security
I honestly wouldn’t be splitting hairs over which one is better, they’re both at the same level, spend 2-3 months on either or both and move on to something practical ASAP
@@UnixGuy " something practical" Tell me more about this ???
Thanks for the review Unixguy!
I'm currently pursuing a career in cybersecurity (no degree) and I learned A+ (without doing the exam) and currently learning Network+ (planning on taking the exam) then I'll get the Google Cybersecurity certification followed by Security+.
Would you say this is a good path?
You made me think twice when you said "you don't need Network+" 🙄
if you’re studying net+ and want to do, just do it asap then jump to google cert
@TheBlurayManiac If you learned all of A+ efficiently then you should just do the exams just to have something for your efforts. I’m not a fan of Certs but some employers highly consider credentials when you apply. The more you have to show for your efforts along with skills, the better.
@@dennyklein1965 A+ is too pricey and honestly provides little to no value. Each to their own though
@@dennyklein1965 nah A+ is really bad as a cert lmao, Sec+ is 5x as good for ur CV and the price is almost similar which is stupid

@@UnixGuy yeah i didnt see it 1st but i watched it then.
It's me or the major tech companies are now releasing courses related to Cybersecurity? Is this a sign that there is a big gap...?
there is a need for a entry level training for cyber security, so they’re meeting a market requirement. Good observation :)
Are you brother of UA-camr ElectroBoom?
dont know who that is, so no?
