Never a good sign for the quality of a movie when the first time you’re hearing of it is from the Honest Trailer.
kind of a low ball to grab but ok.
I saw it. I feel like this breakdown didn't do justice to the utter stupidity of the movie. However bad you think it is by watching this video, I promise it's actually worse.

The “made along the way” part is such efficient criticism that it becomes poetry.
A movie that makes the Fast & Furious movies look scientifically accurate, especially with Tej and Roman going to space with a rocket strapped to a Pontiac Fiero and homemade spacesuits that could save the space program millions of dollars.
No space helmet? No problem, use an empty fish bowl! Works the same!

Finally, a movie that makes Armageddon look scientifically plausible.
It's felt like Emmerich and Bay were in an escalating game of "hold my beer" for years to me.
I think "The Core" already managed to be way more insane than Armageddon.
This movie makes Sharknado seem scientifically plausible!
the Core feels like Armageddon but only half the budget I love the one scene where the guy is on the bridge but you only see the one guy it’s like what you couldn’t afford any other extras?

I think I might have pissed off ALL my neighbors with how hard I laughed, the entire time. But part of that is because my place has sh*t soundproofing.
I realised it was a comedy in the first 5 minutes when the inside of a spinning space shuttle was still somehow completely in zero G.
This might be one of my favorite Honest Trailers 😂
Finally, something that makes the Doctor Who episode Kill the Moon look like a well thoughtout piece of moral commentary.
Yes, I thought that nothing could top that kind of stupidity of the moon being an egg. But now, that seems like more of an intellectual and ethics tale in comparison to this.

Gotta love Roland Emmerich.
Guy spends all his time trying to make franchise movies which don't quite have the right factors to be anything more than one hit blockbusters and then blows it by giving away the rights to Stargate which THEN turns in to a rather successful franchise.
The fact that the franchise is so successful might be BECAUSE he gave the rights away haha

I unironically enjoyed this movie. I went in, knowing full well that it was a bad movie, and wasn’t disappointed. It let me look past the glaring issues and enjoy some mindless, world ending fun for a few hours.
This was the funniest Honest Trailer in a while. The broken sentences had me in stitches!

So, I went in expecting it to be dumb, and therefore I enjoyed it. Like a B-Movie with big budget visuals. But yeah, it's really f---ing dumb. The space shuttle in a tidal wave scene cracked me right up.

@@VioletEnds "dumb fun" was Godzilla 1998 or Armageddon, two of my favorite movies. This one was so illogical that I couldn't take it seriously to enjoy it. I had to pause it like 3 times and take a walk to be able to finish it.

Pulling off the "use not many word"-style throughout the entire video...hats off to you guys! This may well have been your best trailer ever, it's so meta. Only the Deadpool one comes close. And the Luis from Ant Man reference...genius!

Moonfall was such a terrible movie and I loved every single second of it. It gave me everything I went into the theater looking for. Words cannot express how much I loved that movie!

Agreed. She might be happy they're alive, but she most 100% moved on from "my loving husband who saved my child by sacrificing himself is dead" all the way to "ooh, let's give this guy another shot" WAAAAAAYYYY to quickly. I'm betting the step-dad wasn't even cold yet, and he was literally on ice.
It was one of those movies that's so bad it's actually kind of fun. I don't regret watching it, but fortunately I streamed it instead of paying to go to a cinema.

@@dammagrilla I watched Fast 9, it was stupid and I enjoyed it immensely. Not everything needs to be a work of art, or even to make sense. I find that what matters most is the attitude you take when you go in, and your level of expectations.

I mean, it's a great movie, but sure. I would watch it
For me "Independence Day" is still the best summer blockbuster. It has everything. Funny characters you root for, action with massive impact on screen (not videogame full CGI that feels hollow), a dumb story, but well told with the right pacing, great soundtrack, splendid special effects. And Emmerich made other fine movies. Stargate, which led to one of the logest running TV shows, The Patriot, cheezy but fun. Day after tomorrow wasn't bad.
So WTF happened to Roland Emmerich? Independence Day 2 had exactly nothing what made the first movie fun. And then this Moonfall abomination....I don't get it.
The good old days, when will smith was hitting aliens instead of Chris Rock.

I think I have seen this, but my subconscious has blocked most of it from my memory.
Anyone who walked away from this movie and didn’t think it was a masterpiece is a damned fool. Moonfall is going to be the best sci-fi comedy of the century.

Never in the history of honest trailers have i been wheezing the entire thing through from the beginning through the end. The original take with the "dumb sentences" absolutely nailed it!

I unapologetically love this movie. It feels like Roland Emmerich doing his best to satire himself, and it's ridiculously weird.
I got about halfway through this thinking mixing this up with Don't Look Up and they started talking about alien star moons and I was like. "Wow, they really lost the climate change metaphor, didn't they?" before I realized the two were different movies. XD

@@CheeseDanish85 Several years ago, Elon wanted to help save some kids which were trapped underwater using some kind of submarine, but some diver saved them first. That diver also ridiculed Elon for trying to help and being slower than him, and Elon insulted him in return.
While that diver clearly was the type of person who was more concerned about his personal glory than actually helping anyone, Elons response wasn't particularly sophisticated either, so people keeping making fun of it.
There is now but one Tuesday remaining for y'all to make an Honest Trailer for the entire X-Men franchise before Multiverse of Madness comes out.

It's so irritating when things in movies & shows are scaled badly.. like how most scenes with people CGI'd into a colosseum make the people look way too tiny in the crowd compared to the fighters in the arena - especially from a top down or birds eye view.
" White Rock Down" won the Best Joke Award in an extremely competitive field 😂
