I gotta say, this must be the most straightforward and comprehensive tent review I've seen. I'm in market for starting camping/hiking myself and I've been consuming camping related videos like there's no tomorrow for the past few weeks and your video made me finally make a decision on the tent, thank you for that !
Thanks for the in depth and clear review- it fully confirms my view of this tent, but... there's a secret feature with this tent- the 'foot end' end the fly can be rolled back to the first pole and there are toggles to hold it back on the underside of the fly sheet near the seam for the pole-sleeve. This makes foot end into a big viewing window and ventilation aid in good weather. I've had this tent for a couple of years now and I think it is a great three season tent and for a change, genuinely a two person tent. The porch is a big bonus in this tent's design- you can sit up, cook, get changed in the dry without messing up the inner with mud and water. A small groundsheet for the porch is useful if you plan to stay at the same spot for a while in wet weather. The fly stretches with the rain and dew so tensioning is often necessary but also extremely straightfordward. I've used it for bike touring and hiking. It is compact enough and light enough for both, although I prefer a smaller footprint for when discretion is required. You can actually get a bike in the porch area- with the wheels removed and there's still enough room in the inner tent for all your gear and leave plenty of room to sleep comfortably- it really is very roomy! A versatile bargain.
I've got this tent and had it out in 12 hours heavy rainfall with the vents open. No condensation and completely dry inside. I've had it nice and taut to and it's a strong tent when properly pitched. Would recommend.
@@mobilewintercamp7515 Only had it a few months and I'm in the UK. Would happily use it in the snow and build a snow wall around the tent so snow/hail doesn't go under the fly. It won't be as warm as other tents as the inner is purely mesh, but that's not an issue.

Looks solid. I've got the Cloud Up1 and it's SUPER waterproof. I'm big fan of the Naturehike brand. Great break down, I appreciate this detailed reviews.
Great review! You missed one aspect, on the foot end of the tent, the outer fly can be folded back up and secured with toggles when its not rainy. Allows for major ventilation and ability to view outside through the mesh! I've tested this myself and it is a cool feature.
It's like the mansion version of a swag. I really like the design, though would personally choose the 3 person, as it's slightly less claustrophobic. Thanks for the comprehensive & fair- handed review! Subscribed.
I'm a new subscriber to your channel and absolutely love every video. I even purchased the Opalus 2 as my go-to motorcycle camping tent (its perfect for all the extra gear) after watching you use it. Keep it up and thank you!
Great review, can’t wait for your review regarding the use of this tent in the winter time. Wonder how it’s going to behave since that tent has no skirt and ventilation is achieved by the bottom of the tent wall .I actually got the Hilleberg Anjan 3GT, it’s very similar to that tent. I used it as a two person tent. It fits two 25 inch pads easily. Thanks for taking the time to review this tent.😊
Went on a 1-week trip with the Cloud-Up 2 lately. Had a couple of huge rainstorms at night, the tent performed absolutely perfect. Naturehike has some really waterproof tents right there!
the best review I've seen. The only thing I didn't say about the height of the tent is that it is very low and that together with the girl there will not be enough space in height, if you know what I mean.
Great review, thanks! The newer version seems to have two doors, one on each side of the vestibule. Very similar to Nordisk Oppland 2, but with the added door and the Naturehike sits at a lower price point.
Seems very similar to expedition style, Hilleberg tents. I bet it does a pretty good job in the winter. I’ve been looking at it for a while to try cold winter camping. I look forward to seeing you use it in the winter and get a real idea of how it handles things.
I really like it an idea with the door if it rolled up instead of to the side you could do two trekking poles and have a porch and yes finally not a purple tent green should be an option in every tent
I've had this tent in my wishlist for quite a while. It's nice to see a proper review. PLEASE tell me this was not sponsored (even if you got it for free).
Its a great tent, I have zero "sponsors" as I do not recieve amy commission and don't care if any one buys anything I show which is why I offer zero affiliate links, no discount codes, nothing. I like the tent and am happy to share it with you
Thank you!!! Awesome. Would you recommend this tent for long trekking journeys ? Also does the ground sheet come with the tent or is that sold separately?
Hi Longwolf, thank you for the review, I really enjoy (and learn) with any video you published. I am eager to know if you think this would be a good hot tent and where do you setup the stove jacket. Thank you!
I used this tent for the first time last month. My area of the country in the north east US has hot and humid summers. I found that this tent does not have very good ventilation as it retained a lot of heat. We had passing thunderstorms over night and the storage area of the tent was completely soaked on the inside. The inner tent did not get wet although I could feel some water hitting me.
I'm pretty keen about this tent, so, thanks for your thorough review. Is there any way that the ventilation can be improved in hot weather by opening up the foot end of the sleeping area? I think I've seen the larger Opalus 3, in a review, opened up in this way. The only other downside I can see is that it isn't a stand alone structure so you can't take the outer tent off to leave the mesh inner. I live in the tropics. Cheers and thanks!
Very nice Jeremy, not too many tunnel tents that I've seen. Was always interested in the Hilleberg tents of this design, but they are very expensive. Love the vestibule space, especially in rainy weather. Thanks again for another great review and info.👍🏕
Just got this and indeed plan on one of those lil stoves but I`d rather put the hole where the vent is....its a bummer. off to the side of the vent I guess then also, I`m a bit concerned that it has no skirts and rather high sides on the fly I`ll have to build major snow banks to keep the heat
I put mu stove pipe under the flap that way I help with rain and snowand the vent is still operational, the tent still holds a surprising ammount of heat in the sleeping area as the roof is low
I’ve been looking at this tent….love the vestibule size! It’s what drew me to the tent ….but the size and weight makes me nervous for multi day hikes….thoughts?
Keep up the great work! Question, if I got this awesome tent, how hard and what do I need to do to turn it into a hot tent? All advice is appreciated. Thanks again and can't wait for the next video...
