*How does the functions 'blind spots' look like?* Ti - It doesn't matter how others think --> Authenticity of Logic Fi - It doesn't matter how others feel --> Authenticity of Desire Ni - It doesn't matter what could be (only what will be) --> Authenticity of Vision Si - It doesn't matter what is (only what has been) --> Authenticity of Experience *Edit: Thank you for the suggestions, edited accordingly
hmm.. Maybe: Ni - it doesn't what could be - only what WILL be. Si - it doesn't matter what is but what has been. How's that? 🤷🏼♀️ Maybe a bit too general?
I think "authenticity" in reference to Fi is trying to describe Fi's resistance to emoting sentimants just to join in the sentiments of the group (Fe), but instead segregating its own sentiments from the group, religating the sentiments of the group to passive observation, and only synchrinizing with the group when the groups sentiments approaches its own.
When a term gets too rigid it's necessary to give its breadth back. Your descriptions of Si are the only ones that are reliable and relatable that I saw in the whole community, and it's not different on this video. They are very important to me, as an ISTJ. I don't know if it's too shalow but I see Ni as authenticity of imagination, because their imagery is personal to them. It's good to see you again!!
Authenticity of imagination! I LOVE that. As an ENFJ I am very creative. I just have different degrees of trust with my ideas. Music isn't very personal because if anyone knows me they know that I'm musically involved. Its what I breathe. Art is somewhat sensitive but is pretty much open. Be nice about my art and only offer constructive criticism. Don't shoot it down and I'm willing to show it to pretty much anyone. Philosophy is a little more intimate. I have a lot of random shower thoughts that can seem super deep but I mostly keep them to myself unless I trust someone decently. Then there's my creative writing. If I feel super confident in a piece then I'm more willing to share it with someone further outside of my circle. It's just that it's more nerve-racking. A rough draft (that isn't a last minute BSed essay for english) would never be shared with someone I don't trust for whatever reason. Usually they are a creative writer or artist themselves or I've known them for a long time. A rough draft is my work and my mind in its most vulnerable state. It's flawed, imperfect, and unfinished. If someone were to shoot down a rough draft it would hurt me a lot more than anything else. It's like saying "I'm not going to give you a chance to perfect it. I don't want to see what you are capable of." There's no better way to shut Ni down than to say you can't even try to get better. If someone does that to an Ni user they'll kind of shut down around that person. Never tell an Ni user that their thoughts are bad. Their actual and opinions thoughts are more intamate than their feelings.
INTP here. This is such an important video, very nice job. I think the MBTI community still has ways to go in the complete characterization of the 4 introverted functions. And what’s lacking the most, IMO, is exactly what is being done here: the contrasting and comparing of the 4 functions against a narrowly defined, specific common denominator, as done here with running simulations of how each of the functions treat and relate to the concept of ‘authenticity’. More of this, please!
Hi Calypso! I like the way you describe Ti as authentic, but reading studies seems like a weird example to me (I'm INTP). I can't speak for other Ti doms, but I'm not a huge stickler for studies, that seems like more of a Te thing to me. Not to say I can't base some of my beliefs on studies, but my own reasoning takes priority. If I see a study which says something that seems wrong to me, I'll usually regard it with scepticism and keep looking at alternate arguments and studies to see if they make any more sense. I guess I would say I view studies not as some authority which I have to follow, but as arguments or sets of information to evaluate for myself. This probably comes across to non-Ti users as incredibly arrogant and "looking for facts to support a conclusion," but I think like you described, it's just being authentic to my own rationality.
Hi Daniel! Yea that was a super weird example my Te mustered up haha. At least I also mentioned seeing if the reasoning within the studies makes sense to you. Just goes to show that some Te users (especially low Te users) can't even conceive of a way of being rational other than looking to external sources of information.
I think Ti authenticity is like the little boy in the story "The Emperor's New Clothes". The little boy in the story sees that the emperor is naked, and being authentic he points out the truth, even though all the adults believe (or pretend to believe) that the emperor is wearing magnificent new clothes. The adults buy into the collective belief (or pretend to buy into it), because they want to fit in and be acceptable to society. (We see this happening in the world all the time.) The only person in the story that is being authentic is the little boy. And I think it's a very Ti way of being authentic. Ti authenticity often sees and points out truths that many people in society don't want to admit.
As an infj I relate so much to what you wrote. If something doesn't add up I can't just accept it and have to keep looking or thinking to find truth. It's basically a puzzle. I think it's fascinating but crazy how some people can believe everything they hear or read without reflecting on it or see if it fits into everything else ☺️
I've also noticed the same thing; it seems to me that for high Ti-users, facts and data simply serve as tools to inform their reasoning. But for high Te-users, the facts and data **are** the reasoning lol
This is an interesting perspective to see how Ti works. I'm a Te user (auxiliary), and I use the outside information to find and build what is the most rationale about a particular thing. It does lead Te users to get into trouble due to being unable to sift out false information of some kind with this puzzle they're trying to complete. However, a dominant Ni user like me who's Te is of service to it, their healthy and principled intuition can do the sifting out of inconsistencies and inaccuracies. Si users may have some tricks in their sleeve on how to develop a system that'll prevent them from getting fooled too. I guess what I'm trying to say is that Te users have their ways in navigating this world with certainty, but we sure need know how to properly manage the data we get, so it wouldn't lead us to trouble. 🤔
So I gotta say the Si explanation was top notch! Like it's my 4th function but I recognize that completely. That's precisely what I do very often. I do have to point out that Ni for me feels a bit different, I use it like 90% of the time, it's really a way of living for me and while I get would link philosophy to it. For me it's this very vague sense that I know, just know for no reason really, what feels right at what time. I think it might be coupled with my Fe 3rd function, but it truly sometimes feels like I'm psychic. Like I just know what's gonna happen before it happens, in detail often as well. It's very weird I guess I myself would call it authenticity of fate or something
People... seem to assume that Infjs just "change" their mind aha based on who they are taking to? (What do people think fe-ni and ti is really doing??) Ti and ni is introverted processing, as in removing oneself from the situation, fe is a attempt to consolidate those perceptions, not separate awareness
@@JonasAnandaKristiansson Absolutely lol. Understanding everyones perspectives doesn't mean that we are actually agreeing with them all, indirectly or otherwise. And then also people blame the ni-ti loop for any "discrepancies" that are assumed also to be our own
As an ENTJ, I personally relate to the Ni function description as the authenticity of philosophy. But, to me how I view it is more like this realm of visions in different timelines. If that makes sense... It really described me perfectly. I tend to want to work towards the vision of myself and at one point I desired to be this laconic person who is desirable and romantic and then later on I think because of Si being my blindspot, it happened so quickly that I didn't realise how much I've changed due to external pressure which is also inauthentic to my Fi. From this laconic person, my speeches become prolix and people tend to compare me to my past saying that "You are so different from last year" etc. Especially when you said "ignoring my past" It really resonated with me a lot. When you have other desires to pursue, you have to neglect the past and focus on the thing. The thing about Ni is that it is a singular focus. Meaning to say that, if I pursue another desire I need to let go of the desire I had in the past to work on the desire I want now. I tend to ask myself "What is my meaning in life?" sometimes when I tend to focus inwardly and reflect. The thing about me being a Te dominant is that it makes people think that I am "Ne" because Ne is like multitasking which can look like it, but it's more of like this uncertainness which makes Ni both a tool for me and also can be a drawback if I'm not too focused on it. It is this uncertainness of what I want with myself that makes it inauthentic to my Fi. I may have this vision and what I want to do the next year and then when I actually got to that point I tend to question "Is this even what I want?" The only authentic thing is constantly trying to understand philosophy. Which makes sense because I enjoy watching those philosophical videos in UA-cam. Great content! keep it up
I'd say you're pretty much on the right track about Ti. For me (I think I'm a Ti user), evaluating things is a process. I need to gather information about the topic and then all this info slowly gets disentangled and organized, and it becomes clear which pieces don't and which do fit together to form what I then recognize as the truth. But it can take a looong time for that to become clear, especially because I tend to stay open to new info which may be conflicting and disturb the formation of that final conclusion.
Hi, it’s Ben, whom you recently typed as ESFP. Happy to see you on here again being yourself in your environment! I read about my type in socionics and relate to it deeply! Se is a function I don’t see much about except to call Se-doms party animals or vapid. I’m not concerned with what people think about me, but it’s an observation I like to make. My interest in mbti had been historically transient, so I may come and go on your channel, but it’s fun!
Heyy, peace! I also used to get annoyed when they said that Fi is the (only) authentic one! I was like Ti is pretty authentic too! -- INTP P. S. Liked this vid
That's a really good point -- that different introverted types have different kinds of authenticities. (I too thought it was strange how, in the Type Community, authenticity is solely being associated with Fi.) Anyway, I love videos like this -- which clarifies misconceptions and stereotypes.
I think this is a really great video. I read somewhere some kind of perspective that mentioned that each type will act accordingly to what they view as authentic and true to their own type. It's interesting that in a way you've touched on that topic and have found a connection with internal functions. This makes a lot of sense, in my mind, seeing as how these function tend to be internal and exist within our wired frameworks that is related to how/what we think is accurate to ourselves, and not the outside world. I find this perspective refreshing, and as a Fe user, it is nice to finally see some kind of perspective that our functions are not "fake" and "inauthentic" but that we can still maintain some type of authenticity within our type. Thank you :)
Thank you for this video; I found it really fascinating. I'm (I think) an Ni-Dom (INTJ), and what you said about Ni encapsulates a lot about my basic attitude to life, and I find it particularly interesting to compare it with what you said about Si. I think my dominant function has given to my life a pervasive feeling of being a winged insect (I hesitate to say butterfly) perpetually struggling to escape from its cocoon. The past and present versions of myself are the cocoon - something I want to escape from, outgrow, transcend, overcome. I've always had a vision of what I want to achieve and become, and am only really happy when I feel I'm making progress towards the attainment of that vision. I've always had this desire to completely, single-mindedly dedicate myself to something. The past is only meaningful to me insofar as it represents a series of stages of progression towards the goal/purpose that is meaningful to me; which is to say that my vision of the future retroactively ascribes meaning to those aspects of the past which fit within the narrative of my progression towards that future vision. All the aspects of my past that don't fit into this narrative are rejected. An interesting consequence of this is that changing one's Ni-vision from one thing to another entails a complete rejection of one's past up until that point. I did this when I was in my late teens: I decided that I'd completely failed in all the things I'd valued and been pursuing up until that point, completely rejected my past, pretty much cut off contact with all my friends, and started to reconstruct my identity around the new path and goal I'd chosen for myself. As a result of this, for a long time I experienced a certain kind of internal dissonance in terms of identity and memory: I didn't know how to relate to myself and my memories prior to that point of transition. It was like I'd become a different person, but still had the memories of this other, unrelated, previous incarnation knocking around in my brain. And it was kind of disturbing: a kind of identity-dissonance. Since then, I've made various attempts to reclaim parts of my past (childhood memories) by incorporating them into the narrative of my vision. I did this, for the most part, by using them as material for poems. Because the vision which I chose for myself in my late teens (and have pursued ever since) was that of "becoming a writer", using my memories as material for my writing was a way of incorporating them into this narrative of "becoming a writer." I.e., they became an aspect of my journey towards that goal, and hence a part of my present identity. In these poems, I also tried to find echoes of my present self, preoccupations and sense of identity within those past experiences; it's kind of analogous that technique of biblical interpretation in which events in the Old Testament are seen as prefiguring events in the New Testament (and perhaps equally artificial). So I think there's a really weird and interesting relationship between Ni and Si (at least, assuming that I'm not mistaken about my own type). Another interesting thing about Ni (which I think you touched on) is that, although I look from the outside like someone who's very dedicated and single-minded in the pursuit of their goals, to me it feels like I'm constantly beset by forces and pressures, both from the external world and from the other functions within my own personality, which threaten to derail me or divert me from the track which leads straight towards my goals. I often find myself drifting away from my chosen path (and when this happens I find it very disturbing, because I temporarily lose my sense of identity), and have to make a conscious effort to get back on it again. On the most basic level, I regularly give in to hedonistic inferior-Se impulses (i.e., indulging in a compulsive way in sensory pleasures), as a way of escaping from being in my head all the time and driving myself crazy. Sometimes I freak myself out by thinking that, by spending almost all of my time solitarily working towards achieving my goals, I'm missing out on real life and experiences, and ought to be out there in the world, living in the moment and a having a cornucopia of colourful adventures like the Se-doms I know. At other times I become compulsively, obsessively interested in things which don't directly relate to my goal (MBTI and Jungian typology being the biggest and most long-running one!), and end up leaving inordinately long comments on UA-cam videos. So, on that note, I'd better curtail this ramble and apologise for subjecting anyone who might have read this far to it!
Why am I seeing myself literally in all of this? 😯 It's something I've came to realize about myself over the past year. The things that my friends thought I still treasure, but I've moved on cause of newer goals to reach out for. The thing Ni and Te does. These comparisons cause me to rediscover a lot of stuff I thought I would never return. I recently used this expression to a friend, whom I haven't caught up in a few years, when he caused me to remember a section of my past as "a chapter closed and left locked," but he has the "key" to open it for me cause he knew me so well of who I used to be.
That was really interesting. It's weird that you thought about nihilism as a first word for Ni because as a Ni user, that's the word I would attribute more to Ne actually. Ni would be the opposite so existentialism for me because stereotypically for Ni, everything has its own meaning while for Ne users, stereotypically they don't see one particular meaning in things but it could be many things so the anti-meaning thing you mentioned. At first I thought about the authenticity of probability for Ni because of the pattern recognition thing and trying to follow the most likely outcome because more indicators seem to point toward one way. But in the end I think it wasn't general enough and more related to one aspect of Ni, so I think your way to name it was better.
13:00 I relate so strongly to this. I'm incredibly shy and I desperately want to change it, but I don't know who I would be if I did... Its such a big part of how I think of myself it makes the idea of changing scarier...
Great to see you making videos again! And you're absolutely spot on with your Ni authenticity observations. I often find myself going against what I might want in the moment or digging my heels in on inconsequential issues because going against them would run counter to my 'philosophy'. It's kind of an "If I let this insignificant thing slide, then why wouldn't I let larger things of the same nature slide as well?" reasoning. I think it can be tricky to identify them without really getting into peoples motivations a lot. My Ni authenticity could easily be mistaken for Fi authenticity (which, as an INTJ, I also have quite a bit of :p) or even Si authenticity because it will eventually lend itself to some degree of historical consistency, but past consistency is not my focus when making the decisions. Anyway, Great video and a really interesting topic, I love hearing your perspectives on things!
Fi has a subjective outset, and then proceed with objective references to align it. Ti has an objective outset, and (may) then align with a subjective reference, before proceeding. Si internalizes external observations into self-referential frameworks, which are consolidated in an almost institutional manner once verified. Ni takes a subjective outset, and uses it as a compass through objective references, which it condenses into components, that can be assimilated to a subjective lens, to target the/its objective. ,,, or its all bs 😛
In study i used to neglected ti but ti talk actually cinematic based on ti fe judgement and defence offence complementive rather than syllabus type talk, but I cant believe i can speak in different language because of my ti (entp (fe type))
Great video. I'm an INFP. As I watched as realised that I can be swayed by popular logic or a logical story told by an authority figure (Ti not active). But I can't be swayed away from my personal ethics when I listen to a persuasive leader (Fi active)
I realise I actively suppress Ti. And I actively use Te to catalog what other people see as true because this is how I stay in touch with the outer world. For example I'm not* going to use my Ti to question the reason for Covid lockdowns. I'll suppress any Ti grumblings and use Te to passively accept it as "best reality". So in this area (group logic) I defer to the group over myself like an Fe user. I only saw this now due to this video.
Might I just say the staying true I your values thing is very admirable. Personally, my values can adapt but my philosophies cannot. For example, I used to be super homophobic but my friend came out and Fe kicked that to the curb. One of my core philosophies is love and acceptance. So my values say that I don't agree with it but my philosophies say that I will allow them to make their own choices and love them anyway. I guess both things can look very similar from outside looking in but there are major differences. Because Ni is philosophies people who use it may have problems keeping an open mind yet still have an open heart. Fi could potentially be the opposite. In fact, I feel confident it is because I've seen an Fi user shut someone out when they said something that went against their beliefs.
@@flutenanyidk1806 that was fascinating. Yes! Thinking about myself, I have a constantly open mind and frequently a closed social-heart. I've wondered about people who are open to many irrespective of other people's values. Now I see how that's possible, I never pictured it before. Which functions give you the more closed mind and open heart? Is it Ni, Fe?
@@superAweber yeah. I'm an ENFJ, like I said. So making other people happy is my priority most of the time. Fe is my dominan function. The introverted functions are more sensitive and intimate because of their quiet nature. This is also why ENFJs seem super warm most of the time and why occasionally an INFP could come across as cold. The difference in sensitivities (or introverted functions) shines through. Personally, dominant Fe is weird to experience. Society doesn't understand someone who is willing to cry in public if the day is bad enough but isn't willing to tell people, for example, their political views. Thoughts and ideas about life are very sensitve for me but emotions aren't at all. I can shut someone out of my mind but it's almost impossible for an Fe dominant to shut someone out of their heart. You'd practically have to have betrayed them to the point that you could be pressed with charges or a prison sentence for it. The more mature their Fe is, the harder it is to mannage. Edit: Dominant Fe also affects everyone around me. It can almost be dangerous. I've been told that when I have a bad day, so do all of my friends. They say that the world is a different place when I'm not smiling. Being so emotionally open like that can be a bit of a responsibility. I wonder if as an INFP, do you experience anything like that with Ne?
@@flutenanyidk1806 with Ne? Yes, when I feel atuned to someone then I can use Ne to become really charming and insightful. My automatic Fi selectiveness makes this rare. It operates best when I sense the other person is educated (even slightly) and has a simple heart. However with age I now try to clamp down on my Ne in conversation. In the past it would run away with me and I'd talk and talk and be lost in my own thoughts and lose track of the other person. Ne is self-involved. Now I want to hear other people better and it's hard for me. Which is part of the reason I'm here. I never imagined sensitive Ti thoughts. Wow. That's a valuable new understanding for me
I loved this video! Thank you so much 🥰 I’m an INFJ and I have been called out by friends for not openly showing my emotions, with that being labeled as lack of authenticity, even though I don’t feel like I am contradicting my inner guidance. It just feels that my inner guidance shows up differently from what was expected then. Authenticity is like a compass for the self that shows you in real time if you are being congruent with your values. It’s a tool not an attribute. I had got to the same conclusion about authenticity being held by introverted functions it makes sense and your reasoning on it sounded beautiful. I would like to hear personal views on it (on each of the cognitive functions) from their dominant users. Also I wonder if your first introverted cognitive function is your second (so a pessimistic function) how does that influence your perception of your own authenticity :) About Ni dominant, even though I don’t like the prejudice tied up to nihilism, there is a certain relation to it. I feel it in a similar way to what you described, I know who I am at the most expanded version of me (just the feeling of it not the specifics) and everything I do has to fit the puzzle/steps/path to get there on an abstract level, being constantly aware of my pattern it sure has to feel authentic 😅. That doesn’t mean that we can always act consistently because we all have contradictory forces within which provide the ability to adapt deterring sometimes our authenticity. With this being said Fi is just too beautiful 🌈 💛 it’s not surprising that it gets extra compliments 😏
What happens is that feelings are inherently related to people. Thus, Fi is directly related to the individual as a person, while Ti is impersonal ( my opinion, point of view or logic about something, including me). Ni and Si refer to someone's perception of reality from their subjective observation and point of view, which works as a storage of facts or concepts that are going to be judged, so if Si has a certain life experience, it is going to bias their actions and their judgements, but it still is not as personal as Fi.
With si and fi I'm always shocked and disturbed when different trends come back. Like I still remember throwing out all those crop tops and chunky sneakers. How can they come back??? I feel like we hated them like two seconds ago🤣 and that lack of memory feels inauthentic/fickle to me. Glad to have YOU back tho uwu
The vid: People with Ti need to check if something is true, before they will believe in it. Me (an intp) watching it and in the same time bielieving everything what is on UA-cam: Totally me
The video is super great and so insightful! I think this will also help me type others that I know. On an unrelated note, the micro-expressions videos have 'outdated' written next to them. Is it because their information is no longer applicable or...?
It's kind of like horoscopes. The difference between horoscopes and MBTI is that MBTI is supposed to be an extremely simplified version of how your brain processes information and interracts with the world. It's not 100% accurate but it's useful because it's comprehensible. It's more accurate because it's supposed to be based on how your brain functions and not on something completely unrelated to your existence like how the stars were aligned when you were born. It's fun and I enjoy it but it's also generally a useful tool. Sometimes it can help clear up communication problems.
You can always spot a Fi pref in reality TV when they resort to "But do you know how badly I WANT this?!" argument to avoid a vote to go home. As if everyone didn't have equal rights to be here since there's a literal reward on the line.
Gold nuggets Calypso 🏹 Grade A content Authenticity of philosophy... maybe worldview? perspective? Authenticity being used to describe Fi doesn’t enrage me, because it’s quite on the money about something that I find essential to Fi dominance. But I can definitely see that the meaning of the word can easily be played to different tunes.
I would like to take a shot at Ni's authenticity. I'm an INFJ. Somehow the word rang truer for me than your elaboration..."philosophy" I think we should think of Ni(and Si too, actually) as different from Ji's. So they are going to be consistent, but in their inference of information, or more losely their 'relationship with' information. (Like you used in "Si remains consistent in its relationship with physical world"). Ni would remain consistant in its way of seeing patterns may be? It would perhaps choose its way of looking at something very consciously and deliberately, and then remain consistent in that. If Si will allow you to "not invite you on Saturday" multiple times before they judge you, Ni would allow you to follow a trend without judging you. You graph's derivative right now, as compared to your historical record. Though now I have gotten confused about how this is related to "authenticity" in the first place. If I think about authenticity as originality, then I think an Ni will take care to personally look at certian patterns, trends or trajectories. Honestly though, I think there is a problem with both of us. It becomes hard for me to extricate individual effects of Ni from my Ni-Ti, and at places I felt that in your descriptions too, your own third function, or the third function of the people in your head, might have been getting entangled as you tried to interpret the first one. Things will be allowed to be new instances of same general idea without them getting miffed. [Contrast with Ne which doesn't favour vantage points but tries them out and switches]
I think “authenticity” in general should be associated with Di (introverted decider) - have you looked into the Objective Personality human needs? According to their system introverted deciders as saviors (dominant or auxiliary) have “self” or “identity” first; their greatest human need is to have their decisions aligned with their identity, only if different ways
INTJ here. I like where you’re going with this theory. But no, I actually ALWAYS DO want to stick with my philosophy. There is no need to be deliberate. It simply is who I am. It is effortless. It takes effort to deviate from it. But really it is not even about wanting or efforting. The desire or effort is irrelevant. It just IS me. Instead of Authenticity of Philosophy, I might call it Authenticity of Vision.
I really want to stress this. Ni users often are very opinionated. We don't speak up for a number of reasons. As an ENFJ, my Fe begs me to keep the peace. Controversial opinions aren't really ok in most social spaces. There's another element to it though. Introverted functions just are quiet. They're the parts of people that aren't shared until you get to know them. Ni Ti in combination is thoughts and theories. This is an example from personal experience. If an NFJ shares their thoughts and opinions with you, they trust you a lot. If they share their philosphies of life with you they tend to expect you to be in their life for a while. Because they're an NF type, often times "a while" might mean a lifetime. NFJs are super creative in general, it's just that we hate showing people our work sometimes. It's so close to the heart that even the thought of someone saying "that's awful" is scary. If an NFJ shows you their thoughts or creativity, for the love of all that is good PLEASE don't tell them they suck. A better approach would be "hey, this detail could be fixed." Additionally, we're obsessed with why. If we say "I want to go into this career" that's not personal usually. Now if we tell you exactly why we want to go into that career, that is important. I don't know as much about NFPs because I haven't asked.
as an infj i agree. I think a lot of people think that nfjs don’t really share much. And thats true, to a certain extent. That “I want to pursue this career” example was really good because we may share something but if we share the reason why, we trust that they care enough to know :D))
As an INFJ, I just think that sharing my ideas and beliefs to others or not simply depends on whether there is a point/purpose to do so. I do want to find people to share them with though... people who have the same purpose/goal.
Fi wants to have freedom to chose, what they will do, because they know what problems they have. Ti is about social hierarchy. They need to establish order, in which they present their Ti, because they cannot adjust as fast as Te. So Ti authenticity is about presenting their own point of view (unlike Te, which is always aware of multiple POVs) on some issue, in order to position themselves in that social hierarchy. Te by nature do not have any kind of social hierarchy. Everybody is equal. "Mean girls" are Te. They are perceived as aggressive top of hierarchy, because Te people speak, when they feel like speaking and correct anybody on anything. So from Ti point of view they are someone, who puts themselves on top. And at the same time, they are not aware of it and from their POV treat everybody as their equal.
- Ti is not about social hierarchy at all. That's the opposite of what Ti si about. Rather, social hiarchy is Fe. Ti is about internal logical order. - One point vs multiple point of "view" implies a "perception", not a judgement.. . To compare multiple points of view to Ne and one particular point of view to Ni would be a more reasonable comparison. - You say " Te by nature do not have any kind of social hierarchy. Everybody is equal." ..I do not think that is that right either, as Te is all about the order in the external world, which makes users with high Te very aware and if anything more accepting than in denial of external hiarchy (and they typically want to rise in this order). So is one person is validated by the external world to be an expert on something and the other is not, then the Te user will not view them as equal (at least not when it comes to this subject). Te is all about differences in the external world, whereas Fe is more about the similarties. So rather Te promotes ORDER rather than equality. In the relatively short comment you have said a lot of things which are very very incorrect (180 degrees wrong sometimes)
@@PowerRedBullTypology Te is about what OTHER people are thinking. And their point of view (what they know). Te people are all equal in a sense, that nobody can tell you how to live your life (unless you are trying to deny this right for someone else). There are utilitarian hierarchies, that Te create. Of course. But those exist only for the purpose of solving some problem by physically changing environment.
I think I people find Fe inauthentic because they're trying to addreas a crowd rather than speak about their own feelings. A couple Fe doms I know act like celebrities and will say things like "thank you everyone for x and y, my heart is so full", etc and write a long post speaking as if they were president of the country which seems inauthentic because it looks like they're hiding their true intentions of wanting to be well liked (I think CS Joseph says that ISTJs particularly dislike Fe doms because of this). I liked your description of Si (from an Si user). I think XSTJs are growth oriented so they have no problem ditching a previous version of themselves for a better one. Also your Ni description sounds like what I thought Fi was- where you align your life path to your values/philosophy and ignore other influences? How would Ni differ from long-term Fi?
As an INFP, I don't even have a life path xD (ISFPs may differ of course) Feeling what's right and wrong and one's own desires and preferences is different from having a relatively stable meaning of or viewpoint on life. With Ne, I don't even have a meaning of life, I just know what I like and want to do.
Fi users forget they're also Te users. That means status and what others thinks of them is a very big issue for them. They also forget Fe users are also Ti users. Ti is about truth, what's more authentic than truth?
@@someoneRando_ Yes, Fe users are authentic in a Ti way but people (including past-me) keep expecting them to be authentic in an Fi way, which is just not cool...
@@CasualCognition In the end, you're totally right. And I'm actually grateful for your video. By realizing the introverted functions can all be authentic, you take us a step further
*How does the functions 'blind spots' look like?*
Ti - It doesn't matter how others think --> Authenticity of Logic
Fi - It doesn't matter how others feel --> Authenticity of Desire
Ni - It doesn't matter what could be (only what will be) --> Authenticity of Vision
Si - It doesn't matter what is (only what has been) --> Authenticity of Experience
*Edit: Thank you for the suggestions, edited accordingly
hmm.. Maybe:
Ni - it doesn't what could be - only what WILL be.
Si - it doesn't matter what is but what has been.
How's that? 🤷🏼♀️ Maybe a bit too general?
@@JellyIsland interesting suggestions! Liked them a lot. Thank you :)
you made this concise 👏👏
I don't want to see what you are capable of."
There's no better way to shut Ni down than to say you can't even try to get better. If someone does that to an Ni user they'll kind of shut down around that person.
Never tell an Ni user that their thoughts are bad. Their actual and opinions thoughts are more intamate than their feelings.
the way INFPs uses their Ne Te is simpily amazing. bravo.. this by far the best and most insightful video you ever made.
Ya. People rarely get it ( and us ) right
@@JonasAnandaKristiansson Absolutely lol.
My Fi and Ni authenticity are so intertwined that I can’t figure out where Fi ends and Ni begins.
This is what I was wondering. I find everyone is authentic in their own way. It could be feeling, reason, concept or experience. ❤🙏
-- INTP
P. S. Liked this vid
I didn't think I was authentic but I am pretty transparent about my desires.
A different basic truth-sense for each personality type...
Dude. You literally just described me. Underrated comment
Why am I seeing myself literally in all of this? 😯
It's something I've came to realize about myself over the past year.
Nice video Calypso! Good to see you again!
I love how you described Ti! It was very helpful in determining my type :)
I'm sorry I'm seeing one after so long, but I really do love your videos!
Honestly you make the most realistic sense
You are back 😍
In study i used to neglected ti but ti talk actually cinematic based on ti fe judgement and defence offence complementive rather than syllabus type talk, but I cant believe i can speak in different language because of my ti (entp (fe type))
i love your videos so much, glad ur back to frequent posting!! thank you for making things easy to understand
Wow. That's a valuable new understanding for me
In many tests I did, Ni Fi Ti Si always fell, I wanted to find out why.
Loved the description of Si.
I loved this video! Thank you so much 🥰
I’m an INFJ and I have been called out by friends for not openly showing my emotions, with that being labeled as lack of authenticity, even though I don’t feel like I am contradicting my inner guidance.
Also I wonder if your first introverted cognitive function is your second (so a pessimistic function) how does that influence your perception of your own authenticity :)
About Ni dominant, even though I don’t like the prejudice tied up to nihilism, there is a certain relation to it.
Me (an intp) watching it and in the same time bielieving everything what is on UA-cam:
Totally me
The video is super great and so insightful! I think this will also help me type others that I know.
On an unrelated note, the micro-expressions videos have 'outdated' written next to them. Is it because their information is no longer applicable or...?
Hey your channel is great love the content it's like horoscopes but way more fun
YAY Calypso is back! ❤️

Authenticity of philosophy... maybe worldview? perspective?
Authenticity being used to describe Fi doesn’t enrage me, because it’s quite on the money about something that I find essential to Fi dominance. But I can definitely see that the meaning of the word can easily be played to different tunes.
I would like to take a shot at Ni's authenticity. I'm an INFJ.
Somehow the word rang truer for me than your elaboration..."philosophy"
I think we should think of Ni(and Si too, actually) as different from Ji's.

I'm inclined to think that ni is authenticity to vision and si to lived experience. I'm an entj.
INTP just "throwing this out there":
Fi = my feels
Ti = my reasons
Si = my history
Ni = my mission statement
Tell me you're a Ne-dom without telling me you're a Ne-dom - *inserts this video*
Yayyy!!!! 😊
@@someoneRando_ as a Te user I’m not interested in my status, and only care a little bit about what other people think of me.
